How to propogate the JAAS LoginException to JSP

Hi,
I have written a simple LoginModule to plug in to tomcat 5.0xx. Just wondering is there a way to propogate LoginExceptions to a Tomcat JSP page.
The current situation is when during authentication, if I I were to abort the process ( login() returns false ), a LoginException would be thrown, but the error is printed as a stack trace in tomcats' log file. If I modify the exception thrown to FailedLoginException, no stack trace would be printed at all.
Now, the question is how am I able to get the exception on my JSP page instead of printing it out in the log file?

After processing your servlet ,forward it to JSP page and set that exception in object from servlet and accces it in JSP Page and display it.
Example:
//Servlet
String errorMessage;
if error occurs set errorMessage to that error.
request.setAttribute("Message",errorMessage);
//JSP
Acces Message string from request Object and display it imn JSP page using
String errorMessage=request.getAttribute("Message");
This shud work in your case.

i need help to know how to access the hidden variable in the same jsp.
Following is the code snippet just have a look at that.

How to send the payload to a jsp using receiver Http adapter?

Hi experts,
I have this scenario from Legacy to XI to external app server.I have a test jsp to execute that functionality .Its a jsp which has 1 textarea named "test" and when I click on the submit buton I get a response back.This way I am able to test this independently.Now from XI when I am executing my scenario I am getting status code '1250' and message as ' http request(test) is null'.Now in the scenario in http adapter I just provide the target host : ip of server ,
service number : port no ,
path: the container or the request handler. But this scenario fails and gives me the above erroneous response.Now Basically I am not able to get how to send the value to the textarea "test"? please provide help as soon as possible.Do we have to put the name of the jsp in the "path" in http adapter and use prolog as test=.I tried this but it doesnt work.
Is there any way to check the URL that it forms after appending the querystring in the url ...?
So please provide help on this or suggest a solution to [email protected] as soon as possible.....

actually I have this jsp page http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8080/abcdef/try/efg.jsp where there is a textarea "test" which has to be filled and there is a submit button.When I test this http client i.e the above jsp page independently then it goes to handler
http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8080/abcdef/trial/ And it gives a proper response message after clicking on the submit button.
now I want to carry out the same using receiver http adapter. I need to pass the value for this inputfield names "test" on that jsp . so right now I have configyured the adapter as

path : here I have given the path of handler i.e /abcdef/trial I tried giving the jsp page also but logically I guess it should be the handler.

How to get the value in one JSP page to another?

I have problems in passing the value around in JSP. I have two JSP pages as below:
test1.jsp
I try to get the vaule from my textbox by using:
String strUser = request.getParameter ("strUserName");
Then i print out by using: out.print(strUser); then i can get the value and put on my page (For example, i get ABC on my page).
test2.jsp
Next, i want to get the value from strUser (which mean that the one i already display on page in test1.jsp, ABC) to insert into my table by using INSERT INTO statement. Then i try by using
String strUser1 = request.getParameter ("strUser");
Is it possbile for me to do that? I cannot get anything to insert into my table. Then i tried out.print(strUser1); then i found that i get NULL value.
Could you please give me some guidance?

When i click on the BID button in the logged_page.jsp then i always get the last record and save into my table and that is not what i want to. i want to get the result on the same row as the BID button that just click and save to my table.

Get the entered value from the jsp into servlet using request.getParameter("enteredTableName"). it will return the String,pass this table name to execute query using JDBC connection and statement objects.

How to use the ViewRowImpl objects in JSP?

Is there anyway for me to use the ViewRowImpl objects in the JSP (so I could call the set<attribute> methods and get<attribute> methods to retrieve the attributes? Right now I am retrieving all the information I need in the application tier from the database, marshal them myself, and then return the marshaled data back to the JSP side in the presentation tier, then demarshal the data, and finally interpret the demarshaled data. I did this because I want to return everything in one single remote method call, and I know this is really ugly, but I do not know of any other way for me to retrieve all information needed by a JSP page in one single method call. Any suggestions?

I've done this in servlets.
I created an application module (with an ic.lookup() call, see the documentation) and then used the appModule to create my view.
Once you've got that you can iterate through rows and use the accessor methods.
You might need a wrapper method to get the ViewObjectImpl in your jsp...

JAAS LoginException, error.jsp

When I throw a LoginException in my Custom Login Module that my Custom AuthenticationProvider
and my web.xml file contains

How to parse the output of a JSP?

Hi,
I need to parse the generated contents of a JSP file from within the web application (i.e. another JSP). Any ideas how this might work? It seems that XPath will not parse a file which doesn't end in .xml, and even if it did, I get the feeling it would parse the source file rather than the output.

How to make the text in a JSP editable?

I have created a telecalling application, in which I have generated the caller's script("good morning Mr.....this & that...blah blah blah) using a JSP! Some fields are picked up from the database & substituted in the script - personaliasation!
now my problem is that i want to make it editable! There is a moderator who revises the script frequently, so they want to edit it by themselves! And I am lost on how to go about this! Someone please help! :-)
