PdOrg, Business Partner to Business Partner relationship

Hi All,
I need to create an MI hierarchy that is simply an hierarchical series of relationships between business partners. I do not want to use the relationship tab on the the business partner itself as I want to export this data to an MI system and also want to see it in a tree display in SAP PDOrg.
All my BPs exist in the SAP Business Partner. Do I need to create Org Unit to Org Unit relationships and attach a BP to each Org unit or can I just create BP:BP relationships.
I already have another hierarchy in the system for commission calculations.
Any help appreciated, cheers Neil

Hi Stephen,
You can do the same in transaction BP.
Select Business Partner with Employee Role --> Goto Identification tab.
There you can maintain the PERNR and SY-UNAME.
Let me know if this helps.

Vivek Pandey

How to remove that bp in bp master data. plllz tell me how to solve these problem step by step process in sap business one 2007 B

    Hi,
If you have created a Sales Quotation or for that matter any document for  the Business Partner you are trying to delete, you cannot delete the Business Partner from the database.
As transaction and document is linked to the BP, then you cannot delete it.

  • Business content - Customer, Business Partner or both

    Hi
We have a task where we need to decide which business content to choose: Customer or Business Partner. Our current requirements points out that we can fulfill 90% of the requirement by utilizing the Customer information modell in SAP ECC.
Our MDM scenario (decentralized MDM strategy) looks like this:
Customer created in SAP ECC and then sent via SAP PI to SAP MDM. From SAP MDM the customer data is then distributed to SAP CRM and other non-SAP systems.
Should we utilize both the business content (Customer, Business Partner) in SAP MDM as templates since the business content for Customer is based on ECC and business content for Business Partner is based on SAP CRM. If so I assume that we need to create a syndication to the Business Partner repository for each customer created in the Customer repository. Then we need to initiate a syndication to SAP CRM from the Business Partner repository. Is it better in this scenario to have Customer- and Business Partner in the same repository?
So two questions based on the above input:
Which Business content to use Business Partner, Customer or both?
Should they be in separate repositories or in the same? (I understand that by keeping them in the same we create a more tight connection so that if you want to make changes in the Customer repository we need to unload the repository and thereby also influencing the Business Parter related harmonization processes).

    Hello Göran,
Customer created in SAP ECC and then sent via SAP PI to SAP MDM.
From SAP MDM the customer data is then distributed to SAP CRM and other non-SAP systems.
I would suggest to consider Centralized MDM strategy (Still like to know the thought behind Decentralized MDM Strategy).
Customer should be created first in SAP MDM and then it should be syndicated to other systems.
Benefits of having Centralized MDM strategy are...
    1. You can differentiate between potential Customers and Actual Customer by implementing Approval process.
    2. You can use MDM key strength, that is Match & Merge feature which help avoiding duplicates.
    3. You cat get most out of SAP MDM using Centralized MDM strategy.
Which Business content to use Business Partner, Customer or both?
    Depends on your business need.
Should they be in separate repositories or in the same?
Having them in two independent repositories will be beneficial, because...
    1. For avoiding tight connection (as you stated)
    2. You can use SAP Business Content very well.
    3. Repositories created based on SAP Business Content will be flexible from long term perspective (Upgrade, Maintenance etc).

  • Difference Between Partner function & Business Role

    1) What's the difference between Partner function & Business Role?
    2) What is BP role grouping??

    Hi Jayant,
    Partner functions
Partner functions are terms that describe the people and organizations with whom you do business, and who are therefore involved in transactions. For example, when you create an activity, based on Customizing settings, it automatically includes the partner functions Activity Partner, Contact Person, and Person Responsible. Partner functions are always assigned to partner function categories, which are hard-coded in the system.
The system includes commonly used partner functions, but you can also define your own.
    Business role
The business role is a role describing the user interface of SAP CRM and displays the CRM functions in the form of BSP applications in the CRM Web Client. The business role is assigned to the end-user.
Business Role is a crucial aspect in configuring the Web UI as required by an individual or a group of Users.
For Ex: In general an individual who works within Sales as an agent would be able to login as a Sales Professional and a manager of the same team would login with the business role Sales Manager.
This is beneficial as the sales manager would be able to view the entire performance of the team, sales reports and will have access to all opportunities which he can assign to individual agents etc. whereas a Sales agent will be able to view only opportunities assigned to him, his individual sales targets etc.
All this can be achieved within SAP CRM 7.0 Web UI by configuring the Business Role.

  • Painter doesn't work with Trading Partner's Business Area COSP-PARGB

    Hello,
i valorized field PARGB through FI substitution (Tcode GGB1) and it works fine.
PARGB is valorized in BSEG, COEP and COSP for CO totals records for reporting.
In GR22 i activated PARGB in Characteristics screen for Library 6O1 (internal orders).
I created a report copying standard report 6O01-001 and i put in General Data Selection field PARGB.
    The selection screen doesn't work!
The field appears and F1 functionality calls COSP-PARGB and it's correct.
I tried to use fix values rather than variables (standard or custom), but the extraction doesn't work.
The system doesn't filter by Trading partner's Business Area.

  • Parties, Business Systems and Business Services

    Hi guys,
I've read a lot about items in subject, but have some doubts about applying them to my scenario. I have to integrate SAP system and web service.
As far as I understand concepts, this is B2B communication, so I have to use parties. To represent SAP system I use Business System, as it's described ins SLD,  and for Web service I use Business Service... just as we use business services for web services
--- Am I right here? Will it work ok in reciever determination, agreement?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You are doing the usage of business systems and services in proper way.
The scenario will difinately work with combination of business system and service.
It will be fine for all other configurations such as Receiver Determination, Sender/receiver agreements and interface determination etc.
Please see below the importance of Parties, Business Systems and Business Services
    A communication party
A communication party (party for short) represents a larger unit, which is involved in a collaborative process. Using a communication party, you generally address a company within a cross-company process.
You can assign a communication party one or more services to address it as the sender or receiver of messages.
    A business system
If you want to address a particular business system as the sender or receiver of messages, choose this service type.
A business system is an actual application system in a system landscape. A business system (service) comprises information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and the software component versions of the business system.
You usually use business system services when configuring internal company processes.
    A business service
If you want to address an abstract business entity as the sender or receiver of messages, choose this service type.
Using a business service, you can define the technical or business subunits of the companies involved and then assign them the relevant interfaces.
You usually use business services when configuring cross-company processes. In this case, you only make your interfaces known to the business partners involved and either do not make any details about your own system landscape available, or only specific details.
For example, you can define RosettaNet Partner Interface Processes (PIPs) as business services.
    Thanks

  • Difference between Business system and Business service.

    Hi All,
Can any one explain in detail difference between Business system and Business service.
As we commonly say, Business service is for those system which are not in our landscape.
Can any one explain in which particular scenarios we will go for Business Service.
    Reg
    Bapuraj

    Hi Bapuraj,
    Business System
Business system is a logical system, and there is an importance on physical existence of the system. Also SLD entry is required.
It is generally used for SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.
    Business Component(formerly Service)
You use a Business Component, when you do not have the System details of the the partner system to which you want to communicate. i.e. you have not configured the partner system in SLD.
Business Service is an Absract Unit with Sender and Receiver Interfaces,In this case you need to explicitly add the message interfaces while doing configuration in ID.
It is generally used for NON-SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.

  • What is the difference between partner function and partner type

    Hi Gurus,
What is the difference between partner function and partner type?
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi John,
The partner types allow us to distinguish between different business partners such as customer, vendor, employee etc and the partner functions represent the functionality or role each partner plays within the business transaction.
For example under the partner type Customer, you will find - Sold to party, Ship to party, Bill to party, Payer.
The business partners that exist in the market place are represented with a partner type in the R/3 system. Examples of business partners are customer, vendor, employee and contact person.
The following partner types are defined in the partner processing for the sales & distribution module –
    a.     AP – contact person (06)
    b.     KU – customer (07)
    c.     LI – vendor (08)
    d.     PE – employee/personnel (09)
Assigning the partner functions in the SAP system determines the functions of particular partner in the sales process. One partner may take on several functions also.

  • Partner Number for Partner function in Vendor master definition

    Dear Gurus,
I need to define a new vendor through Tcode: Xk01 / Mk01, but while defining particular screen know an partner functions, in this its asking partner number in lookup where no data ia avalibale to select and subsequently not able to save the vendor.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Prashanth Pai

    Hi,
Before vendor creation, you have following configuration steps:
    1. Create Vendor Account Group.OBD3
    2. Maintain Number Ranges from Vendor account Group:XKN1,
3.Assignment of Number ranges to Account Group,OBAS
4.Partner Function: SPRO->MM->Purcahsing->Partner Determination-> partner roles->Permissible partner role sper account group
    5.Partner Schema:
SPRO->MM->Purcahsing->Partner Determination->Partner setting in Vendor master record-> Define partner Schema
6.Assgin partner schema to accont Group
SPRO->MM->Purcahsing->Partner Determination->Partner setting in Vendor master record-> Assgin partner schema to account Group.
& then after above steps, you can create vendor with XK01 t.code by entering company Code,Vendor account group and purchase organisation.
Note:what is partner role:Generally during in your business transaction process we are specifying the roles involved by vendor i.e.....… vendor act as a Goods Suplier, Ordering Address, Invoice Processing. Here all these functional activities by vendor we termed as partner functions (GS,IP, OA) in partner determination Process. SAP has standard Partner role and its 2 characters.
Example: A company supplying goods/material having plant in Hyderabad, south India branch office is in bangalore and head office is in Delhi. So hyderabad plant is your"GS",banglaore office is your"OA" and Delhi office is "IP"where you pay to Vendor. for the procurred material/goods.

  • Whats the actual difference between Business system and Business service

whats the actual difference between Business system and Business service

    Business System
    1) Business system is a logical system, and there is an importance on physical existence of the system.
    2) Also SLD entry is required.
3)It is generally used for SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.
4)This is defined as part of the SLD and is a physical system whose parameters are well defined.
5(Business systems refers to the physical systems, for instance the R/3 system. You define the business systems in the SLD
    Business Service
    1) You use a Business Service, when you do not have the System details of the the partner system to which you want to communicate. i.e. you have not configured the partner system in SLD.
    2) Business Service is an Absract Unit with Sender and Receiver Interfaces,In this case you need to explicitly add the message interfaces while doing configuration in ID.
    3) It is generally used for NON-SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.
    4) This is not defined as part of SLD and whose technical parameters are not completely known.
5)Business service is used when the message is not addressed to a business system. It is used mostly in B2B scenarios.

    Business service or Business system??
Business Service vs Business System in Integration Directory.
    Best Regards

  • Diff between Business service and Business System?

    HI Experts,
Pls let me know wht is the difference between business service and business system??
when we will have to go for business service and when for business system??
    thnx in advance..
    New XI

    Hi,
Difference between Business Service and Business System are :
    1) Business sytem require all details like login user id
password require to create but in case of business service
log in details does not require..
    2) A Business System  is purely for SAP-Systems and
    Business Service for Non-SAP systems
    3) Business service refers to any business applications where
as the business system is defined in SLD(System Landscape
    Directory)
    4) When we have full details of application system the we are
going to use the business system and it is created in the
SLD so we dont have authorization to change the business
    system name.
When we have partial details or no details of Technical
system then we r going to use the business service. it is
created in the ID. we can see and change it.
    5) A Business system is something that physically exists
For example, if u want to download a file from a system
ABC, by using file adapter and then want to update the
content of this file into r/3 database by using RFc,then
the system  abc and the r/3 will be ur business systems
i.e. they physically exists. Business Systems are
    configured in SLD.
Business service is mostly usedin B2B Scenario (cross-
component),where you don't know the Business System of your
partner. In other words business Service will be used only
for those partners which do not have a physical landscape
set up . Business servces do not have an entry in SLD.
    6) A Business Service is an Abstract Unit(which is not in
System Landscape Directory) addressing Senders and
    Receivers of Messages.
Physicals systems which use their communication channels
and routing rules to communicate with other systems are
called as Application Systems OR physical systems.
    7) In simple when u going for A2A integration then we define
our Technical systems are Business system. If we r going
for B2B integration then we dont know the complete
information about the other end Business Landscape so, we
configure it as a Business Services. Business system are
created at SLD. Where as a Business Services are created at
    Integration Directory.
    8) Business systems:
These are logical senders or receivers that exchange
messages by using the Integration Server and that are
entered in the System Landscape Directory.
The business systems in the System Landscape Directory
relate to a system landscape. The business systems of
business partners are therefore not entered in the System
Landscape Directory. To be able to address such business
partners logically, use communication components in the
Integration Directory. A business system is a way of
specifying a communication component in the Integration
Directory more precisely (business system component).
    Hope this will hwlp u..
    Regds,
    Pinangshuk.

  • Passing Partner function and Partner number in Action container editor

    Hi all,
We have a requirement to create a follow up transaction with different business units as partner functions depending on some logic. I tried defining one action using copy_document method and was able to pass the container values of partner function (CRMT_PARTNER_FCT) and partner number (CRMT_PARTNER_NO) along with transaction type (process_type). However, still the follow up transaction does not contain the relevant partner function and value.
Please let me know is there a way I can default differnt partner function and partner number while creating a transaction based on my actions.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Varun Gupta

Thanks maggie, I know couple of options using code like the one you mentioned in copy badi. There is another BADI only for partner function. I can activate it in the access sequence and can do my code over there. However, in actions (copy_document specifically) we can pass parameter like transaction type, activity category etc. SAP standard implementation automatically takes those parameter into consideration and create subsequent transaction with right transaction type and activity category. On similar basis I have also tried sending partner function and partner number without any success. So I thought of raising this and need all CRM experts advice on it.
