How to publish an own and deployed process? Via WSDL?

Hi There,
i'm kinda new to BPM and i got some questions. I've gone through some tutorials and created my own process. I build and deployed it, startet it through the NWA and tested it (mostly human activitys and mappings). Everything works fine but i'm facing some unsolved problems:
1. Is it possible to get the sourcecode of the deployed process from the repository? I've already downloaded the WSDL-file from the "Single Service Administration" and want to get the process itself too.
2. Within the "Services Registry" i published the deployed process. I imported this published WSDL within the process composer (import per Service Registry) and linked it in an automated activity, but it seems that the process can't invoke itself. Neither when i use the imported interface at the end-event it doesn't "restart". My question here is: can't a process invoke itself or does it just not work with the default wsdl? It would be intresting for me, if a process could invoke another process when it ends.
3. Is there any good tutorial how to create an own WSDL-file with the process composer? I haven't seen any yet.
Any information would be helpful!
With kind regards,
Markus

Hi Fazal,
thanks for your answer. I had already found the process in the web service navigator. I tested it there and it was ok. But i wasnt able to find it in the UDDI-registry, so i downloaded the WSDL-File from the "single service administration" and registered it in the UDDI-registry. I imported this published WSDL-file from the UDDI-registry within the process composer to be able to test if a process can invoke itself, but it didnt work. Than i tried a new process which only has an automated activity which trys to invoke my first process, but this doesn't seem to work too. I need to know how i can invoke another process within an automated task or at the end-event of a process. I think this could be helpfull if i want to create Sub-Process and route input and output data through it.
I also need to know how i can create my own WSDL-file for a process which i want to create with the process composer, because not every process i want to define has an empty start nor an empty end. Is there any good tutorial for this? Somebody also mentioned that he/she created an own WSDL-file with the PI server, but i dont know how to do that. It is also confusing when you got ~ten or more default services within the web service navigator.
With kind regards
Markus

  • Automate the EAR creation and deployment process

    Hi,
    I am trying to automate the EAR creation and deployment process. I am following this approach - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/adf/part4-098813.html
    In this approach we use pure ANT without OJDeploy. I am able to Create the EAR file but while deploying to weblogic server manually I get the attached error.
    Error is - java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet
    I would like to know, Is this the best practise to automate the EAR Creation and Deployment Process? If not, Please provide me some other best approach.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards
    Balaji S

    Balaji,
    I am the author of that article.
    At the time I wrote the article, ojdeploy was not working properly - however, the bugs that I noted at the time have been fixed. If I were writing the article today, my strong recommendation would be to use ojdeploy.
    If you insist to use the pure ANT (no ojdeploy) approach, I'd debug your issue this way:
    1). Generate the EAR file using the deploy option from the application navigator in JDeveloper. Deploy that EAR file to your WLS server and test to ensure it works. A note that if you are creating an ADF app, you must deploy the JRF to WLS first.
    2). Once the EAR from JDev is working, use a tool such as WinZip to expand the JDeveloper-generated EAR file and your ANT-generated EAR file. Compare the two. If you find differences, fix the ANT scripts so that they are the same.

  • Programmatically create and deploy process definition

    1. It seems that PAPI does not support process definition creation and deployment. We need to programmatically create and deploy process definitions, what should we use?
    2. Is it possible to programmatically add variable definitions to a process instance? We have an external program that creates the process instance but sometimes the process instance may need to add some additional variables.
    Thank you for your help,
    shirley

    Hi Shirley,
    You're right PAPI wasn't intended to deploy processes, however, you can deploy processes automatically using ANT.
    You'd need to republish and redeploy (again using ANT) to add additional variables to a deployed process. Simplest thing to do would be to add attributes to an existing BPM Object. If you just added a new variable, you'd need to change argument mapping troughout the project.

  • How to move the code and deploy the code from Dev environment to SIT.

    Hi,
    I have a requirement.
    I want to move the components and deploy the code from dev Environment to SIT environment using Ant Script for AIA.
    Before doing this is any pre-requisites required?
    Can you please help on this,how to do?
    Thanks in advance.

    Further to add to Anish Statement follow the steps to easily migrate the code to different environment.
    Steps:
    First log on to the EM Console and export the Composite Flow as a SAR file to a location.
    In Jdeveloper create a project using the same name of a SAR file like - ProcessSalesorderFlow
    import the project using the option import the composite using a SAR File.
    After import , then click on the composite and then generate the config plan.
    In config plan add all the url changes using the search and replace Tags.
    And in case if you have a JCA Adapters the same has to be taken care in SIT environment why because during deployment a lookup happens and deployment fails if it dont find the JNDI Name.
    Take the SAR file adn config plan seperately from JDeveloper.
    Now open em console again and then deploy it using the config file and SAR file.

    Hi All,
    Through self-service API's we are able to create the agrement. How to I create the configuration for the same and deploy it using java/pl-sql code ... any sample code and example file...???
    Regards,

    Hi Praveen,
    You can use self-service API to deploy configuration using a JAVA program or command line. To use it in the command line-
    1. java oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.selfservice.TradingPartnerManager --- creates the Trading Partner profiles from the specified XML file
    2. java oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.selfservice.AgreementManager creates agreements from the specified XML file
    To use it in the JAVA -
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(tpFile);
    InputSource is = new InputSource(fis);
    TradingPartnerManager tpMgr = TradingPartnerManager.newInstance();
    tpMgr.init();
    if (args.length == 2) {
    tpMgr.processTPProfiles(is, true);
    } else {
    tpMgr.processTPProfiles(is, false);
    tpMgr.shutdown();
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(tpFile);
    InputSource is = new InputSource(fis);
    AgreementManager agreementMgr = AgreementManager.newInstance();

  • How to catch date errors and continue processing in a PL/SQL procedure

    I'm updating a date field with dates constructed from day, month and year fields. The incoming data has many instances of day and month that are not valid dates, ex 11 31 2007. There is no 31st day in November.
    I would like to write a pl/sql script to scan the table containing these values and log the rows that produce conversion errors.
    I thought I could do this with exceptions but there are no exceptions that correspond to the ORA-01847 error for mismatched day and month.
    Here is what I tried (the print procedure is a local wrapper for DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line):
    PROCEDURE date_check IS
    start1 DATE ;
    BEGIN
    select to_date(nvl(yearcollected,'9999') ||'/'|| nvl(monthcollected,'01') ||'/'|| nvl(daycollected,'01'),'YYYY/MM/DD'))) into start1 from incoming_data where id=1 ;
         BEGIN
              update temp_test set test_date = start1 where id=1 ;
         EXCEPTION
              WHEN OTHERS THEN
              print('Date error message from exception block');
         END;
    print('Processing continues after handling date exception') ;
    END date_check ;
    Is there a way to catch this kind of error and continue processing after logging a message?
    -=beeky

    Hi, Beeky,
    There are lots of different error messages associated with bad dates. Rather than try to catch them all, I use a BEGIN ... EXCEPTION block that contains nothing but a TO_DATE call. This is one of the rare occassions when I think "EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS" is okay,
    The following function comes from a package. If you want to make a stand-alone function, remember to say " *CREATE OR REPLACE* FUNCTION ...".
    --          **   t o _ d t   **
    --     to_dt attempts to convert in_txt (assumed to
    --          be in the format of in_fmt_txt) to a DATE.
    --     If the conversion works, to_dt returns the DATE.
    --     If the conversion fails for any reason, to_dt returns in_err_dt.
    FUNCTION     to_dt
    (     in_txt          IN     VARCHAR2                    -- to be converted
    ,     in_fmt_txt     IN     VARCHAR2     DEFAULT     'DD-MON-YYYY'     -- optional format
    ,     in_err_dt     IN     DATE          DEFAULT     NULL
    RETURN DATE
    DETERMINISTIC
    AS
    BEGIN
         -- Try to convert in_txt to a DATE.  If it works, fine.
         RETURN     TO_DATE (in_txt, in_fmt_txt);
    EXCEPTION     -- If TO_DATE caused an error, then this is not a valid DATE: return in_err_dt
         WHEN OTHERS
         THEN
              RETURN in_err_dt;
    END     to_dt

  • How to close Terminal Windows and terminate processes with Applescript?

    I'm trying to quit the Terminal via AppleScript. I need to run 4 different Terminal scripts on a server but would also need to restart this server every day automatically... and my favorite choice would be to do this properly.
    I suceeded terminating all other applications, cleaning folders and sending messages, but I did not find a solution quitting the Terminal!
    When I tell it to quit, it asks if I want to terminate all processes, even if I use the "ignoring application responses" command. The Terminal gets stuck on that dialog box and one has to manually hit "Terminate".
    Anyone knows about a solution how to avoid this prompt or how to default "Terminate"? There must be something like "close window 1 with process terminate", or?
    Many thanks in advance!

    :-))) Sometimes the answer is so easy... Thanks a lot!

  • Create Session and notify process via WS-Papi

    Hi,
    In the development of several examples and tutorials to learn how to "communicate" with other services, i'm finding some doubts about the session generated for the external program. This point made me ask two great doubts:
    1) How can i iniciate a session using WS-Papi?
    2) In the process, there are some points that needs to communicate and get parameters from outside, ie from another application via WS-Papi. My doubt is how to do this and get the response using notification process activity or automatic activities to "release" another notification wait activity.
    a) Is valid this option, using notification wait-response activities.
    b) is there another way to sync this kinda events?
    Greetings,
    PS: I forgot to describe my available applications

    You should probably also reference these JAR files in your PAPI project:
    fuego.lib.jar contains the fuego/lang/BytecodeIntrospector class that is missing from your classpath. It's located in the BPM Studio install directory, in the \lib sub-directory.
    If you receive messages about missing class definitions for bcel or JMS exception classes, also include bcel.jar and jms-api.jar in the BPM Studio home, \client\papi\lib sub-directory.
