How to query the citadel database

Is there a way using Lookout to query the citadel data base?
I have value that is being saved every second say, into the citadel database
a specific record may look like this for the field
MON_DS = "7:57"
Local Time = "2/19/06 15:59"
I want to have the user enter a date and then lookout to query the citadel database and find the
maximum value for MON_DS for that date.
Is this possible in lookout?
I can download the data to a spreadsheet but that is alot of work to load each of the fields & local time records

How would one go about changing values that already exist in the citadel database. So say I were logging a numeric value with a timestamp for 1 year and then wanted to change a few values for the month of June because my sensor wasn't working at that time. How could I do this? Is it possible without re-creating the whole database over?

That reinforces my suspicions.
I have an app running for about 8 years now that keeps a paper trail to enusr ethe cartdiges used in respirators (operated NIOSH National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health par teh CDC) that use DSC to enusre nobody can ever falsify those records. If they can be hacked I my customer and anyone using a respirator with a NIOSH sticker on the side of it, want to know.

I have got some info that only through servlet or jsp only we can connect the database and from their we should get the info or query in mobile application.

How to share the same Database Connection when using several Task Flows ?

I’m using JDev 11.1.1.3.0.
I’m developing ADF Fusion Applications (ABC BC, ADF Faces…)
These applications are deployed on a Weblogic server.
Each application has only one Application Module.
All Application Modules have the same connection type defined: JDBC DataSource : jdbc/GCCDS
It is working fine.
I’ve also developed Task Flow Applications for small thinks that are reused in multiple main applications.
Each Task Flow Application has also one Application Module with the same connections type as main applications.
All these task flows are deployed to JAR file (ADF Library JAR File) and are reused on my main applications. (drag and drop from the Resource Palette to ADF Regions….).
There are some parameters passed to Task Flows, so that they can filter data depending on which main applications they are called from.
Everything is working perfectly.
All my main applications are using more and more task flows. Which is nice for the reusability etc…?
Only ONE PROBLEM: DATABASE CONNECTIONS.
Every Task Flows service made a database connection. So one user may have 10 database connections for the same adf page. And when there are 100 users that are working at the same time, it becomes a problem.
How to share the same database connections for the main applications and all task flows which are used in the main application?

There are two ways of using a logical database - either by linking it with the executable program(specify the LDB name in the program attributes) or by using the function module LDB_PROCESS.
1.Data read by the logical database is passed back to the program using the interface work areas.Use GET statements in the report.
GET events are implemented internally as FORM routines.
2.If you call the logical database using the above function module, the selection screen of LDB is not displayed.It uses special subroutines called callback routines, which are called by the function module and filled with the required data.

I installed Oracle 10g database in Computer A(Windows 2000), and I already create all the tables with data and the data size is about 300MB.
In Computer B(Windows 2000), I installed HTML DB 1.6.
How can I use /get the existing database table (in computer A) for HTML DB?
Could anyone help me on this? I am newbie and I need some detail instructions. or Where can I find the examples.....

Well I guess if you wish to retain that architecture, i.e. HTMLDB on one machine and your data on another, you will have to establish database links to access the data. Oracle documentation will describe how to achieve that.

First an entry need to be added to the client tnsnames.ora that uses a SERVICE_NAME instead of a SID.

How to query the flat files that are used in Etl From EBS source.

That can be done in OBIEE. Save the flat file as .csv format. Then go to ODBC Administrator on windows machine where you BI server is running, and create an System DSN and select "Microsft Access Text Driver (*.txt, *.csv)" as driver type.
Next, import tables in RPD using this ODBC connection. Rest of the steps as same as building model from a table source.

In case your portal has MS SQL server as its databse, then I am giving the step by step directions to achieve 90% of what you wish to do. Rest 10% you can try on your own.

SBS 2008 - How to rebuild the reporting database

I'd like to start using the inbuilt reporting facilities in SBS2008. But when I start up the console and click on "Reports", although I am taken to the SBS2008 console's reports screen, a couple of seconds later, the following error message
is displayed:
"There was an error while loading data for this page".
When I click "Close" to close the error message, I'm left looking at the console's reports screen but with nothing shown. The top pane simply says:
"There are no reports to display".
So, I then click on "Add a new report" in the right-hand pane. Nothing happens for a couple of minutes - not even an hour glass. Eventaully, a window opens up, headed "New Report Properties". So, I had a go at creating
a new report, e.g.:
- Report Name = Test123
- Content = Summary
- E-Mail Options = I entered my email address
- Schedule = I set it to daily at 9pm
When I clicked "Ok", after a couple more minutes of thinking, it came back with:
"The report properties cannot be saved. Reopen the Report Properties dialog, and then try again."
I don't know how to tackle this issue. I administer the network here but don't know SQL Server - and we don't have any SQL Server applications of our own - just the inbult ones like WSUS.
If there is a problem with the actual reporting database, I'd be happy to rebuild it, or even reinstall SQL. But I don't know how. My main concern is that WSUS is running beautifully and I don't want to go anywhere near anything that might
break it. I would rather have no reports than lose WSUS.
Could someone point me to some step-by-step instructions aimed at someone who knows Windows Server (to an extent) and SBS2008 - but has no knowledge of SQL Server?

I worked through the article but hit problems.  Any thoughts would be gratefully received.
Here's what happened:
1. I checked that SQL Server 2005 is installed and that Windows SBS Manager is installed and started
2. I looked for "SQLServer (SBSMONITORING)" in the list of services but it is completely missing
I then followed the section headed "If necessary, create a new SBSMonitoring database". This takes one to another article:

You need do the following for oracle type4 driver:
1) register the driver:
$IAS_HOME/bin/jdbcsetup
Driver Identifier: Oracle_Type4_816 (whatever name you like)
Driver Classname: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
Driver Classpath: .../classes12.zip (install this this zip file somewhere
and add this zip into the Classpath later).
2) DataSource Setup:
start iAS Administration Tool (iASAT)
Choose Database, unfold iAS1 (your app server instance),
choose External JDBC Datasource -> add: DataSource Registration
JNDI Name: yourPoolName
Driver Type: Oracle_Type4_816 (select what you just register)
DataSource Url: jdbc:oracle:thin:@hostName:portName:dbName
Username: your_user_name
Password: your_passwd
(Datasource Pool: using defaults for now): you can also customrize the
parameters for the pool.
3. Add classes12.zip into CLASSPATH.
In your application, you can use JNDI lookup to get the DataSource from
which you get the connection from the pool.

Is there a way to test for integrity of the Citadel Database?

Gday,
Currently I am logging OPC data to a Citadel 5 database (Labview Version 8.2.1).
I have done some integrity testing to try and "break" the citadel database and I noticed that if you delete any of the .cdpg files no alarms are flagged or notifications given in MAX or elsewhere to show that the database has been comprimised.
The result of deleting or the corruption of any of these .cdpg files will result in valid data being 'moved' back in time as the citadel databases only log changes in value with no corressponding timestamp. For example if you delete from 9.00am to 10.00am then all data logged after 10.00am will now start at 9.00am.
So I was wondering if there is anyway to either correct or even test for corruption in a citadel 5 database.

This should not happen according to the design of Citadel. Also I tested with current Citadel, and didn't see this problem. I'm not sure if it was a bug in the old Citadel(the one with DSC 8.2), but for current Citadel, I can't reproduce it.
There are many files in database folder. The .cdpg file is the data file, containing all the logged data. Some other files, such as .cdin, .cdih, .cdib, are the index files. When you read data from a trace, Lookout will first find the index from those files, and then locate the position of the data in .cdpg files. Actually Citadel will rebuild the index files if it finds something changed or damaged. If you delete one .cdpg file, Citadel will rebuild the index files. With the new index files, you can work with the database without any problem. The only difference is that the data in the deleted file can't be viewed then, just like the data was nevered logged. So, to delete the .cdpg file won't damage the whole database. The new data will be logged to database with the real time or the user-defined time. Citadel does log the delta value, but it also records the time for each trace. The detailed architecture is too complex to describe.
