How to read a file in another location using Java ?

Question

Hi all,
i suppose the below code reads my file 'ridata.dat' when it is in the same folder as my java class file.
How can i read it from a different location?

class FileRead
public static void main(String args[])
try{

Try with JFileChooser
               JFileChooser fileChooser = new JFileChooser();
               int returnValue = fileChooser.showOpenDialog(null);
               if (returnValue == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION) {
                    File selectedFile = fileChooser.getSelectedFile();
                    System.out.println(selectedFile.getName());
