How to read block of rows from database tables

I have created a Database Application in Java and display all the records in tabular format of one Table. This table have Millions of Rows, If I run Select * from Table, then my Machine not responding, so Now I wants to add paging of 1000 rows at one time.
Is there are any option to read block of rows at one time and then query again for next page ?
Please let me know..
Database : SQL Server 2000/2005, Oracle and MYSQL

This has certainly nothing to do with JDBC nor Java, but with SQL.

How to delete a row from database table in facade client

Hi all,
I followed the tutorial in creating a persistence entity from database table, then a session facade. Then I followed the tutorial to create a sample client to test the model. In the session facade, I could use persistEntity method to insert a record to the database. I am just thinking of an extension to the tutorial, i.e., being able to delete the record too. So I created a new method removeEntity in the session facade
public void removeEntity(Object entity) {
entity=em.merge(entity);
em.remove(entity);
em.flush();
and called it in the sample client. It was executed without any error, but the record in the table still exists.
I tried to look around for a solution, but I did not find one. Would anybody here please help out? Many thanks in advance!

How to get multiple rows from database table?

hello !
I need to get multiple rows from a OLEDB database table and display them on a table object.
I did "Wrap in subfrom" on the table, set subform of the table to "flowed", and checked "Repeat row for each data item" of Row1 of the table.
But I can get only one row on the table object.
I need your help.

best practices when deleting multiple rows is to do this on the business service, not the view layer for performance reasons. When you selected the rows to delete and press submit, then in a managed bean you access thetable instance (put a reference to a managed bean from the table "binding" property") and call getSeletedRowKeys. In JDeveloper 11g, ADF Faces returns the RowKeySet as a Set of List, where each list conatins the server side row key (e.g. oracle.jbo.Key) if you use ADF BC. Then you create a List (ArrayList) with this keys in it and call a method exposed on the business service (through a method activity in ADF) and pass the list as an argument. On the server side you then access the View Object that holds the data and find the row to delte by the keys in the list

How to delete the committed row from a table from its VOImpl class ??

I am new to ADF and I have problem to solve. To perform roll back I am using fetching key before roll back and setting it after undo operation, so that I can stay back in the currently selected row. But in my case I am using application model commit for one LOV attribute selection in the row. So when ever I am performing roll back operation after inserting a row, the values other than this committed LOV attribute gets roll backed, but I need remove the entire row from table. Does there any option to remove a row based on the attribute values of a row from VO's row implementation or from bean class in a performance optimized way ?

Can i change it so, that on this page it always displayed row with exact position in the table - for example second or 15th - independently of row contents and rows deletition, moving or changing in table?

But if I add 5 rows to table, then delete all of them and add 5 again - auto incremented id will 6 for first in table and 10 for last. If i delete all and add 5 again it will be 11...15 and so on. As I said - I cannot rely on row contens - because I'm planning to delete and add data from that table frequently. Or other solution could be to allways keep id from 1 to [amount of rows]. I do not know how this is done.
Or am I wrong about id?

Friends i have a Table called tblstudent this has the following fields Student ID, StudentName ,Class,Father_Name, Mother_Name.
Now i have a CSV File with 1500 records with all These Fields. Now in my Program there is a need for me to read all these Records into this Table tblstudent.
Note: I have got already 2000 records in the Table tblstudent now i would like to read all these CSV File records into the Table tblstudent.
Please give me some examples to do this

1) Read the CSV file line by line using BufferedReader.
2) Convert each line (record) to a List and add it to a parent List. If you know the columns before, you might use a List of DTO's.
3) Finally save the two-dimensional List or the List of DTO's into the datatable using plain JDBC or any kind of ORM (Hibernate and so on).

I have written it like

but suppose TableA has 2500000 rows and
TableB has 500 rows then for 500 rows I have to

I have created indexes for on columns A1, (A1,A2,A3), B1, (B1,B2,B3).

For each record in component table there are multiple entries in component_audit table.
I need to keep the first record and delete the others from the component_audit table
say for example
select a.component_id,a.dt_ti_stamp,a.component_name,a.column_before,b.comments from component_audit a,component b where a.component_id=b.component_id
( on the above result set only I shold apply the actual delete query )
PLease help me in this regards.

How to read a particular record from BRF+ table in ABAP

hi all,
I have a requirement where a particular record has to be read based on certain value for a set of columns from BRFplus Decision table to Delete/Update. I tried many methods of CL_FDT* but could not find any right one.
Could anyone please help me?

Hi Deepika,
There is one solution from my side.
1. Include the Decision table in a BRF+ function.
2. Set the input and result of the function.
3. Call the function in the ABAP.
4. Get the record from result.
Please find the call function logic in ABAP as below.
Data:
        lo_admin_data         TYPE REF TO if_fdt_admin_data,
        lo_function           TYPE REF TO if_fdt_function,
        lo_context            TYPE REF TO if_fdt_context,
        lo_result             TYPE REF TO if_fdt_result.
cl_fdt_factory=>get_instance_generic( EXPORTING iv_id = "functon id in general tab"
                                                      IMPORTING eo_instance = lo_admin_data ).
lo_function ?= lo_admin_data.
*Set input parameter
lo_context ?= lo_function->get_process_context( ).
lo_context->set_value( iv_name = "parameter name"    ia_value ="parameter value" ).
lo_function->process( EXPORTING io_context = lo_context
                                          IMPORTING eo_result = lo_result ).
lo_result->get_value( IMPORTING ea_value = "Result" ).

How to read LONG RAW data from one table and insert into another table

Hello EVERYBODY
I have a table called sound with the following attributes. in the music attribute i have stored some messages in the different language like hindi, english etc. i want to concatinate all hindi messages and store in the another table with only one attribute of type LONG RAW.and this attribute is attached with the sound item.
when i click the play button of sound item the all the messages recorded in hindi will play one by one automatically. for that i'm doing the following.
i have written the following when button pressed trigger which will concatinate all the messages of any selected language from the sound table, and store in another table called temp.
and then sound will be played from the temp table.

but when i'm clicking the button it generates the following error.

IF MY PROCESS TO SOLVE THE ABOVE PROBLEM IS OK THEN PLESE TELL ME THE SOLUTION FOR THE ERROR. OTHER WISE PLEASE SUGGEST ME,IF ANY OTHER WAY IS THERE TO SOLVE THE ABOVE PROBLEM.

You can achieve this in many different ways, one is
1. Create another VO based on the EO which is based on the dest table.
2. At save, copy the contents of the source VO into the dest VO (see copy routine in dev guide).
3. commiting the transaction will push the data into the dest table on which the dest VO is based.
I understand that if we attach VO object instance to region/page, we only can pull and put data in to only one table.
if by table you mean a DB table, then no, you can have a VO based on multiple EOs which will do DMLs accordingly.Thanks
