How to read data from OM-62 temperature/humidity data logger in LabVIEW?

Hello,
I have an Omega OM-62 temperature/humidity data logger that I want to communicate (initialize recording, read/write data, end recording) through LabVIEW 8.6. The OM-62 is connected to the PC via a USB-miniUSB type B connector, and I have the supplied "Omega Interface Logger Program" on my Windows operating system. I've called Omega's DAQ help-line but was told that low-level data loggers like this do not have supplied LabVIEW capabilities which I completely understand.
My question is why do I have to use their program to communicate to this device? If I knew the syntax their program used to communicate to the device, why can't I use that through VISA? Do I need to build my own LabVIEW driver from their supplied driver?
Is Python a more applicable solution for this scenario?
How could I view the code "Omega Interface Logger Progam" uses on my Windows operating system to communicate to the OM-62 sensor?
I just would like to know how this could or couldn't work as I feel I am missing some concept in my novice LabVIEW/programming understanding. It would be easier to run both my LabVIEW program and their program at the same time, but I just want to understand this at a deeper level.

Unless the manufacturer provides some sort of programming interface or API for communicating with the device you're going to have a hard time interfacing to it with your own software be it LabVIEW or Python or anything else. That could be in the form of a driver dll, serial protocol, modbus (etc. etc. etc.).
If that isn't provided/available and you really need to communicate with the device you would need to look at using something like a USB/driver sniffer (software? hardware?) to try and intercept the communications between their software and the device. You can then use this information to try and figure out what commands it sends and the response received and how to convert that into the data.
Once you've got that far...I'm not sure what options LabVIEW has for low-level USB device control but at a guess I'd say you'd need either a low-level USB driver or you'd need to write your own driver in another language and then call that from LabVIEW.

You do not need to use the Close Zip File.vi when you unzip a folder. This VI is used when you are creating a zip folder.

I'm relatively new to ABAP and I'm trying to figure out how to read data from an internal table into a table that I created. I'm trying to use the RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA function module to read data from a multiprovider. I'm trying to read data from the e_cell_data and e_axis_data tables into a table that I've already created. Please see code below.

How to read data from a Modbus module

I have a Modbus module from ICPDAS (ET-7019/PET-7019), which I want to read data directly from. Since I'm fairly new to Modbus, not really sure where to start from. I have read the Modbus introduction and understood some of the basics. I've also downloaded the Modbus library but don't really see any good example. The ICPDAS Modbus module is ethernet based and is currently connected to our network. The ICPDAS can log data but I'd like to read data directly using LabVIEW.
We have LabVIEW 2009 development suite and RT module, cFP 2220 and 180x. I read some sections saying using cRIO as modbus master/slaves and assume we can use cFP as a similar method? I don't have DSC module.
Would someone be nice to draw a diagram or explain where I can start in terms of connection and configuration? Read from ICPDAS is the only function I need.

   Try using this logic.This Code displays the list with check boxes. When you check a checkbox and press a button say 'Select All' or 'De Select all' or 'Display'. It will read the data of those records.

How to read *.dat type file

Hallo!
Can anyone help me with reading *.dat file using labview functions. Previously I've read them via matlab script, but after compiling to executable I could not read *.dat files. It might be because I'm working on LV 6i and in order to be able to read via matlab 6.5 I've paste matlabscript.dll from LV 7 to the main 6i place. However now I want to load this dats by using LV function and I can not achieve it.
I've already tried to use some examples from the help base and it doesn't work. There are slightly more then 2 milion samples in one coloumn in tis file.
Can anyone show me how to do that? I will appraciate

LabVIEw is always big endian (on any platform), but most other programs are little endian on intel machines (windows). See also the link Donald posted.
Your particular code still has a few bugs. Since you are reading U16, the number of data points is half the number of bytes in the file. You are trying to read twice as many and always get Error 4 (EOF encountered). To avoid this error, you need to divide the bytes by two for reading. Also watch out for correct representations, your record(s) indicator is I32 instead of U16, causing unecessary extra memory usage. ... and don't forget to close your file when done reading.

Instead of cross-posting unformatted code you could have taken a look at the API, because there you might have come across a method named getLinks...Even though it's not documented, I really suspect that it will return the Hyperlinks on a given page.
