I tried to use READ_TEXT but i am not able to figure out what combination
to be given in input fields of this BAPI.

It is coming in HRT1002 table which is linked with HRP1002 with field TABNR.
But problem is that I have to capture this value in BADI-HRBAS00INFTY.
Before save. Because with BADI i need to update data in it.
any solution of it?

Hi All,
In PP01 Position there is option description there is one text field.
I need to change text at the time of saving through any user exit/ badi.
I searched BADI(HRBAS00INFTY), Method(BEFORE_UPDATE) Internal table field(tb_plog_tab-tdata) contain the text data.
But problem is that We can not change that data, this table is not changeable(tb_plog_tab).
Can any one help me in finding some user exit/BADI where I can change PP01-Description-text field before saving.

How to read appended objects from file with ObjectInputStream?

Hi to everyone. I'm new to Java so my question may look really stupid to most of you but I couldn't fined a solution by myself... I wanted to make an application, something like address book that is storing information about different people. So I decided to make a class that will hold the information for each person (for example: nickname, name, e-mail, web address and so on), then using the ObjectOutputStream the information will be save to a file. If I want to add a new record for a new person I'll simply append it to the already existing file. So far so good but soon I discovered that I can not read the appended objects using ObjectInputStream.
What I mean is that if I create new file and then in one session save several objects to it using ObjectOutputStream they all will be read with no problem by ObjectInputStream. But after that if in a new session I append new objects they won't be read. The ObjectInputStream will read the objects from the first session after that IOException will be generated and the reading will stop just before the appended objects from the second session.
The following is just a simple test it's not actual code from the program I was talking about. Instead of objects containing different kind of information I'm using only strings here. To use the program use as arguments in the console "w" to create new file followed by the file name and the strings you want save to the file (as objects). Example: "+w TestFile.obj Thats Just A Test+". Then to read it use "r" (for reading), followed by the file name. Example "+r TestFile.obj+". As a result you'll see that all the strings that are saved in the file can be successfully read back. Then do the same: "+w TestFile.obj Thats Second Test+" and then read again "+r TestFile.obj+". What will happen is that the strings only from the first sessions will be read and the ones from the second session will not.
I am sorry for making this that long but I couldn't explain it more simple. If someone can give me a solution I'll be happy to hear it! ^.^ I'll also be glad if someone propose different approach of the problem! Here is the code:

If you use a RandomAccessFile, you can create a header containing the length. If you use streams, you'll have to use a block protocol. The reason for this is that I don't think ObjectInputStream is guaranteed to read the same number of bytes ObjectOutputStream writes to it (e.g., it could skip ending padding or such).
Next, you'll need to create an object that can return more InputStream objects, one per stream written to the file.
Not trivial, but that's how you'd do it.

Object type for multiple/text/unrestricted property

          Hi,
          Does anybody know what's the object type for multiple/text/unrestricted property.
          I tried to use um:setproperty tag to set the value of a multiple/text/unrestricted
          type property in jsp. I got the following error if the object type I use is ArrayList:
          javax.transaction.TransactionRolledbackException: Transaction: '995540362044_8798'
          rolled back due to EJB exception:
          java.rmi.RemoteException: EntityPropertyManagerImpl.insertTypeSpecificValue():
          caught ClassCastException. The reason might be because the type of the passed
          value does not mismatch the property type stored in schema information. Expected
          object type is: 3 and the object type was: java.util.ArrayList
          Does anybody know what's this type 3 object?

How to read OLE objects from Access ??

Hi,
I have an field of type OLE in my Access Database table. This field has some files stored in it in the form of attachment. The file types of the OLE objects can be different (xls,txt,doc). Now, I want to query the database and find the extension of the files and save it occordingly using java.
I'm using the following now.
JdbcOdbcInputStream jois = (JdbcOdbcInputStream) rs .getBinaryStream("SupportingData");
byte[] supportingData = jois.readData();
String data = new String(supportingData);
I'm getting data in binary format and when I try to look into it, all I can see is the header info of the file.
Is there anyother way to read the OLE object easily ?
Please suggest.

How to identify the object type in xpress

In ui global.startdate is evalued with Date object type when use display class as DatePicker. After save, the global.startdate is String type. The other place in the code has use this global.startdate to convert to special date string. The problem is how to detect what data type the global.startdate is at one particular moment?

In my case I do the following.
1. Use the following rule to display the date in the desired format.

At any point in time if one wants to know, one explicity needs to convert the java.util.Date obtained from datepicker using dateToString method in the Util class.

How can I use object type in Jdeveloper 11g?

Dear friends
I made some object types(Database layer) and each one refer to functions or procedures to generate table or view, for instance in one of my project I could make a View Object with this function and generate a table:
Select * from table (genarate_emp(2019))
In this sample I used a static value (2019) and I did it perfectly, but I want to make a table with dynamic value for instance I would like to set partial trigger of this view object and get dynamic value from the other view object.
Please help me if you have any suggestions.

It's a common requirement on posting to this forum that you describe which version of JDeveloper you're using and what technologies (obviously ADF BC in this case).
For making the static value dynamic within your View Object, are you familiar with the View Object bind variables/bind parameters? This will allow you to define a named variable in your VO that you can set programmatically or even let the user set. Play around with those first and see if they solve one part of your problem, then come back to the forum for the second part.

i have created a business object type object along with attributes and methods. Now inside the method i want to access the attributes. inside the method i am writing:
data a type XXX.
a = me->attribute
this is creating a compilation error.
Now the method is defined as a function module in some package, so can anyone inform me how to access object attributes from the function module ?

thanks for your answer, but this too did not work, "=>" is for static attributes and the attributes i have are not static. Moreover, i tried it but it gave the same error :
the abap error was when i was checking the code is :
the type me=>documenttype is unknown
as you know in SWO1 i created an object and when i create a method you link it to a function module and this is where you have the implementation of the method, so from this method how can i access the attributes on the main object that i created in SWO1

I don't know why you want to manually creates the types... anyway since it can by quite complex to write all CREATE TYPE statement for a real schema... here my suggestion:
1) activate a tracing with the following statement
ALTER SESSION SET EVENTS '31098 TRACE NAME CONTEXT FOREVER'
2) register the schema with GENTYPES=>TRUE
3) in a trace file under UDUMP you find all the statements executed, therefore the CREATE TYPE as well
4) use these statement as basis for your scripts

OBIEE 11G Web Services - How to find Catalog Object Type

Hi All,
I am trying to access the Web Catalog objects available in OBIEE 11.1.1.5 through the Web Services API. I am able to read object names in "/shared" folders using the getSubItems() web service. My objective is as follows
1. Categorize catalog objects based on their type (Analysis, Agent, Action, Condition, etc...)
2. If possible, read the presentation column information that each object is using
The ItemInfoType structure only provides for types - Folders, Link, Missing, Object, etc... and does not help me in identifying the actual catalog object type. Any help on this regard is appreciated.

How to read relevant record type from file into LSMW ?

Here my req is like this.
file with 5 records.
some of records in file are begin with 'AD'.
i want to read only that records from file while reading data.
i created one field in source structure with record type filed.
even i had given this Identifing Field Content:AD
but after reading data from file its reading all records from file.
But it should read only record type AB from source file.
How can we achieve this?

For this do the follwing steps
goto step 3 Maintain Source Fields
press the change mode button after the double click the filed which is pass the AD value
then it will appier one popup window in this window you have one check box like " selection parameter for import/convert data"
tick thic chekc box and save it.
now when you read the data in Step9 , here you find select options there you enter AD* now you will get the only records start with AD.

How to read multiple objects stored in a file.

there is a file on which multiple object have been written.
Now while reading it back, is it necessary to read the objects in the same sequence in which they were written or i can randomly read any object?

I suppose you could use random file access, but you would need to keep track of where you put the objects.
