How to read the input field value into ABAP variable?

Hi All,
i need a read the value of an input field into an ABAP variable,and i am doing this in the following way
lstring = request->get_form_field('myFlag').
here 'myFlag' is the input field name,but this is not returning me any value into lstring.
I have gone through the SDN and tried to do this.
could you please help me out to resolve this issue.

In which event are you putting this code. Place it in oninputprocessing event(Page with flow logic Model of coding). Then it will surely work.

I created an INPUT FIELD in WAD and I am trying to link a variable value (initially created in BI-IP through transaction RSPLAN)

I will present my scenario (it works in my system). From this scenario you may "cut" implementation for your scenario.
Lets sat I have an input fileld item and I want to read value (in my case numeric value) and pass this value to any planning sequence.
1. Create in Bex variable (in my case it is formula variable) lets say Z_INPUT_VAR
2. In WAD, when you executin planning sequence (lets say by pressing button execute) in command EXEC_PLANNING_SEQUENCE_SIMPLE define data binding.
When you clicked data binding->variable input MANUALY your variable name (Z_INPUT_VAR) in popup window.
3. In variable type select (ITEM_INPUT) type
4. In web item select your input field item.
This way you will pass inputed value to vaariable and planning sequence.
Then in planning function you also may use VARV() to read value of Z_INPUT_VAR variable.

To read the 'Input help with fixed values' of domain , you can use the function module : HR_P_GET_FIXED_VALUE_TEXT.
iIf you enter the domain name, you will find the fixed values entered in the domain.
These values are stored in a table DD07L(DD zero 7 L). Here the values are stored based on domain name.

Sysgen : How to read the input port data type, width and rate dynamically in a masked subsystem ?

Hello everybody,
     I am designing a general purpose block in system generator. I pass the user parameters to the block through masking it. Some user parameters can change the block configuration. The input port data type, width and rate can also affect the block configuration.
     The problem is that these values (input port data type, width and rate) are subject to change. So I should read them dynamically, then change the block configuration through programming the "Initialization Commands" field. But unfortunately there is no straight way to read the input port information.
     There are some methods in for example the "Black Box". these are:
input_width = this_block.port('din').width;
input_rate = this_block.port('din').rate;
But these methods are not applicable to a masked subsystem.
I have tried other ways also. You can find them below. None of them worked.
Does anybody know how can I solve this problem?

Today we rely on Simulink to perform parameterization of your designs in two ways:
Parameterizable Subsystems and Blocks : Parameters themselves can be MATLAB expressions that need to be evaluated for which we need the MATLAB interpreter

How to fulfill the virtual characteristic value into report

Hi Experts,
      I am working on one reporting requirement that needs to add reference date (virtual characteristic) field to report.
      I have added reference date field to query and able to display the field in report.But I am not able to display reference date field runtime data in to report output.
    Could someone please help me on this how to display this virtual characteristic values into report.where the runtime variable values are stored.How to fill the data etc.

You can achieve this using Customer Exit or BADI. Check the folllowing link.

If you are using BADI
You can create Virtual CHAR in BADI using transaction SE19
In this transaction you can create a new or display the existing BADI.
There you can see two tabs
The Attribute Tab we need to give the name of the Multiprovider on which the query with the virtual char is getting executed.
The Inerface Tab has three following sections. Need to write the ABAP code for all the three.
Define : Defind all the characteristics and virtual char that will be used for populating virtual char
Initialize : Initialize them
Compute : Here you will have to write the logic for populating the virtual char.
Once the logic is written then you can use this char in your query .

How to populate custom table field value into standard DFF

Hi Gurus
I am newbie to the OAF
I have a requirement to populate the custom table field value into standard DFF. we enabled the DFF in ReqDistDFFOnAcct(po_req_distributions_all). On the requisition tab as soon as i click on the checkout button, the custom field value has to be shown in the requisition distributions DFF field along with the standard Columns like charge account, percent, qty and when we click on the next button, it has to hit the base table ie., po_req_distributions_all.
the standard columns data is showing the screen. how to acheive this requirement programatically
There is a EO for the req distributions table. please help me how to achevie this requirement.

I cleared the cache, bounced the webserver. Could not able to understand what is this error

How can I read the filter dependent values in abap class implementation ?

I need read the filter dependent values in my Z Class implementation but I don´t know how to do it.
In classic badi was via FT_VAL parameter.
Now how can I do it ?

In case of badis the field flt_val gets added automatically as an import parameter when you check FILTER DEPENDENT check box. This is to restrict which implementation of the badi should be executed, if there are more than one.
There is no such concept when you are building a class.
If you want one of your methods to be executed on in certain cases, you need add the required logic within the method.
If you are referring to the FILTER check box in the pic below, that is used for a different purpose. It is used to filter what is displayed on the class builder screen. F1 on the field to know more about the same.
