How to receive SMS

Dear sir/madam,
Is it possible to send & receive SMS in my JSP running at the server? If so how can I receive an SMS and send a reply to that using the JSP coding?
If it is not possible then What else can I use to receive the SMS in My Server?
I am new to JSP and SMS?

to use sms you need first an sms server, or a mobile device you can connect to that will send the sms.
Then depending on the device/server and software that is available you need to give different parrameters to the device/server, in worst case scenario you'll have to adress a dll, this would mean you will have to learn JNI.
so the options are wide scattered, and therefore i can't give you a finishing example...

  • HOW CAN WE GET SKYPE TO ALLOW RECEIVED SMS?

hey yall friends, moderators, and hopefully someone from the actual skype company.
what is the deal? why are we not able to receive sms texts (except from people with smartphones who can do mobile to landline text to voice features)?
can we somehow come to a compromise, a creative solution. it is just stupid to be able to send sms messages but not receive them. people even send them back and they go nowhere, thinking they communicated but we never receive anything.
if we have bought an online number and a subscription doesnt it make sense we should be able to receive text? that was one of the first features of skype original.
what is the blockage that is stopping this easy feature from being included? is it that phone companies charge the recipient company (skype) for texting? and skype doesnt know how to deal with that, or want to? i think even if you charged us .11 cents to receive, we would all do that. you could even make an SMS subscription to pay for costs.
if skype is going to continue to grow as a company and as a useful feature. this is the next step. i hope we all understand and appriciate that.
again, 1 way SMS is just non-functional and barely-useful. communication is a two way street. please let us make something happening.
here i am planting the seed.
    ~e

That is also my request.  I'm using TextPlus on my Android phone to send and receive free SMS messages. (Yes, it gave me a free phone number.)  However, I would rather just use Skype with an online number to send and receive SMS messages.  And SMS needs to be free.  With Skype's other paid services, free SMS should be possible.

  • Just bought android phone (LG G2) and I do not receive SMS from iphones . Problem with iMessage but I do not have my iPhone to deactivate. Any ideas how to handle?

Just bought android phone (LG G2) and sold my iphone 5. I cannot received sms from iphones. Obviously issue with iMessage but since I do not have the iphone anymore ...not possible to deactivate... any ideas how to handle?

Read here under no longer have device:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5661
You can also call AppleCare to fix this.

  • My iPhone5 cannot send and receive SMS using latest iOs. How can this problem be solved?

my iPhone5 cannot send and receive SMS after I updated it to iOs 6.0.2. It used to be able to function normally when it was still using iOs 6.0.1.

Since SMS/MMS is exchanged via your carrier's cellular network only, contact your carrier.

  • How can I receive SMS on my Skype phone?

I've just setup my new Skype phone and tried to send myself an SMS from another mobile. Seems that the call can go trhoughm while SMS don't - any reason for that?

You cannot receive SMS on any iPad.
The iPad is not a cellular telephone.  SMS relies on cellular telephone networks.
You can send/receive iMessages to other Apple devices.

  • Not able to send or receive SMS messages on iMessage on mac

When I first updated to Yosemite the new SMS feature on iMessage was working. I had to replace my home button and screen on my iPhone 5s and after that it stopped working. I am not sure if having that repair done on my phone has anything to do with my above problem. Please help

    Hi Ralph,
    Thank you for your reply.
Ok, I will try to explain myself better.
    When I say:
    - Messages, I am talking about the software to send and receive iMessages and SMS.
    - iMessage, is the blue bubble
    - SMS is the green bubble
Facetime is because if someones callsme and I do not answer quickly on iPhone, and the Macs are using the same network as iPhone, the VoiceCall pops ups and rings, and usually I activate the Facetime option (when is a iPhone). Sorry about this confusion.
So basically, a week ago, I could send and receive SMS, iMessage on my Macs to/from anyone.
Now, I just can send iMessages (blue bubbles with blue name/contact on top [TO:]) and I can't send SMS (text messages, green bubble), I receive error (red exclamation point) and the name/contacts on top [To:] are red.
And as I told, I think it might be because of the new iOS update with iTunes recovery. Because it is the only similar thing I can relate with "loyalchiver" (when an iPhone goes to repair, the restore it.) That's why I tried signout/in in all Macs, but still not working.
About the Text Forwarding function, I had searched and what I was getting was to go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding, but this last option didn't appear, so I thought this was because the pages/foruns that I was reading was for the version 8.1 and not 8.1.1 (Apple could change it, I don't know). But while I was trying to put this working, I had rebooted some where and when I saw your reply, I went again there, and I had the Text Message Forwarding option, so all I had to do was activating it. Thank you!
To "labelchiver", I am not sure how I did it, but try this:
    1. close all applications running on background.
    2. reboot your iphone.
    3. go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding .
    4. If you can enter there and your mac is linked, unlink it and link it again.
    5. Hope it works for you
Once again, thank you for your help and I apologize for my  confusions about the labels. Cheers!

  • Can't receive SMS on N900

I've had my N900 for about a month.  When I signed up for T-Mobile service I received a text message welcoming me to T-Mobile and informing me of my account balance.  I haven't been able to receive any text messages since then.  This only became apparent recently when trying to set up an online account where they try to send an SMS message with a temporary password.
I can send outgoing SMS without problems.  They go out immediately and are received by other phones.  SMS from other phones back to my N900, or sent via e-mail, just disappear.
I spent some time yesterday with T-Mobile's technical support.  I'm not exactly clear on the way GSM networks operate, but the tech claimed he could only see one of the two connections he should be seeing.  He suggested  I try my sim card on a T-Mobile locked phone.  I'll do this as soon as I find somone who has such a thing.  However, it seems unlikely that this is the problem.  (I mean it's not the first time T-Mobile have set up a phone account for someone.)
I had been using the default "Use SMS Messaging Center settings from SIM card".   The tech gave me a new number to put there, but it didn't change anything.  Besides which, I -did- receive an initial text message when I set up the account using the default "from SIM card" setting.
Things that changed since I first set up the account are:
I've updated the Maemo OS twice, the most recent time being yesterday 2010/2/20.
    I've downloaded a few apps.
I have an sshd daemon on the phone now, so I can ssh in to poke around.  I've also spent some time on the forums and trying some of the suggestions for fixing broken SMS in the "Conversations" app.  Specifically, I tried
    cd .rtcom-eventlogger
    mkdir keep
    mv el* keep
then cycling the power on the phone.  No joy on this.
Similarly, df shows that I haven't filled up any of my disk partitions.  The fullest is "/" at 72%.
I don't understand how GSM and SMS do their connections.  In case it's of any use, for what it's worth, a netstat returns:

I can watch /var/spool/sms and see an outgoing message briefly in the "outgoing" directory.  If I send an SMS to the phone though, I don't see anything coming in to "incoming".
I've looked at dmesg and can't see any errors reported there.
I'm running into a character limit on this posting, so I'll post a "ps xauww" as a follow on to this message.
    Many thanks in advance!

    A "ps xauwww" gives:

  • My iPhone4 loses signal and when I do hard reset, I can't send or receive SMS and calls. I have to back-up and restore weekly!

It started last month before I ungraded to iOS5. So my network provider advised me to upgrade. It fixed the problem but it happens again after several days. I lose signal then when I do hard reset, signal is back but I can't send or receive SMS or make and receive calls. But from the other end my phone is ringing but nothing is happening to my phone. This is really frustrating! Coz it happens weekly and the only way to fix it is to back-up and restore. Which is a hassle coz it takes me about 3 hours! Please help. My phone is still under warranty but the provider is telling me it might take them 3 months to check and fix.
I think there is a bug with the iOS5 coz it happen when it I upgraded. Before I was quite happy with my iPhone4 but now it has become a source of anxiety and stress. I've received a lot of complaints at work coz they couldn't contact me.

Do any of you know how to send 'sms' to particular mobile number using ABAP.
Are there any basis settings required for the same?

  • HELP - not receiving sms on android after using ichat

For the past 3 months, I have lost the ability to receive SMS texts about once a month.
The first time it happened right after I sent somone an ichat on my ipad. Up until then, I had not used ichat for about one year, which is when I went from an iPhone to an android (and I have not used it since then either). I did some research online and found some suggestions on how to fix the issue. A few forums suggested removing my cell phone # from my Apple Support profile. A few others said to change my apple password. I did both and my messages started coming in about 3 days after they stopped.
About 3 weeks later, I stopped receiving them again. I looked at my Apple Support profile and found that my cell phone # had been added back in. Thinking that maybe Apple has some job that runs every so often and repopulates information on blank fields, I removed my cell phone # again and entered a bogus #.
Couple days ago I stopped receiving texts again. I looked at my Apple Support profile and found that the bogus # is still listed so that was not what fixed it the first time.
I have called ATT (my carrier) repeatedly and they have tried to trouble shoot my problem with no success. They suggest that it's only something that Apple can fix. I have also called Apple and they suggest that it's an ATT issue. No one has been able to help me. It really surprises me that this is not a known issue with a fix.
So here is the problem in a nutshell:
I am not receiving sms texts on my android, from anyone at all.. doesn't matter what kind of phone they have or who their carrier is.
    I DO receive mms texts.
All of my texts are going through no probelm.
Does anyone have any clue how I can stop this from happening every few weeks? I want to stick with my current phone until the next iPhone comes out. Any leads on this issue are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!!

I just don't understand what you mean by "invites". What kind of "invite" did you send "from another gmail to gmail"?
What about a simple email? Do you receive simple email messages to that address?
