How to record from VB ADO to a CLOB field?

I have a VB program working with OracleXE and I need to record a textbox value (txtOcorrencia.text) to a CLOB field. My VB string is the following one:
With RS
.Open ("SELECT * FROM VAGAS"), DBConn, adOpenStatic, adLockOptimistic
.AddNew
!ocorrencia = txtOcorrencia.Text
But it refuses to record to the CLOB field. I tried to pass some string to it but it gives me a run-time error while trying to save it to Oracle:
Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)'
So my question is: how can I record to a CLOB field using VB ADO?
Thanks for reading!

  • How to record from the video in or S-video Ports on Qosmio G40?

    Can anyone tell me how to record from the video in or S-video ports, because i've tried the Ulead DVD factory program and the only capture device it could see was the webcam, and it did capture from it
    After that i've downloaded the update file that was provided by the support website
    The devices that the program could see are the TV tuner and the webcam (which it couldn't access anymore for some reason)
    After that i've downloaded a newer update which simply is the same as the last update and seems that someone in the support website directed the link of the new update which they don't have to the file of the previous update which doesn't really do anything.

    Hi
    There are 2 s-video ports; s-video out port is not designed to capture the signals from any external source. The name of this port says everything; its an OUT port!
    The s-video-in port must be placed at the right side of the notebook. Dont mix the both ports. But note; this port receives only the video signals. To hear the sounds, use a video cable to connect the sound terminals of the audio device and your computer.
    Red: sound right channel
    White: sound left channel
    The Ulead DVD Movie factory can be used to capture this signal.

  • How to display records from a query into non-database field

    Hi
    I a have a problem:
    I have a query with many tables and 6 column(select a,b,c,d,e,f from x,y,z,t,s,g where conditions) and I use 3 parameters.
    I create 3 parameters :datai,:dataf and :partener and a button with a trigger when button is pressed.
    Then a create a manualy block with six field non-database a1,b1,c1,d1,e1,f1.
    Now I want to display all the records from my query into a1,b1,c1,d1,e1,f1 where a1=a,b1=b,etc. and all the records (if I have 20 record, it will display 20 records in non-database field) when I press the button.
    How I made:
    I create a cursor with query then
    begin open cursor
    loop
    fetch cursor into :a1,:b1,:c1,:d1,:e1,:f1;
    end loop;
    close cursor;

    Creating a view, and querying that into a database block is an excellent solution.
    To use the non-database block:
    You're missing the all-important Next_Record; command.
    <pre> Begin
    Go_block('X'); -- block X is the non-database block
    Clear_Block(No_Validate);
    open cursor X1;
    loop
    If :System.Record_status != 'NEW' then
    Next_Record;
    End if;
    fetch X1 into :a1,:b1,:c1,:d1,:e1,:f1;
    Exit when X1%NOTFOUND;
    end loop;
    close X1;
    end;</pre>

  • How to record from an external source

    I recently bought a hp envy 17" and I cant figure out how to record onto this laptop.  I have to jacks on the left side, one with an icon of a headphones, the other with an icon of a headset.  I want to be able to take input a stereo jack to record into one of these and record into a program like Audacity.  Under device manager it says I have an ATI High Def Audio Device.  How do I record from an external source?  Thanks.

    @toolchic, first make sure that in the IDT HD Sound properties [right click the IDT ICON near the clock, which says "Controls IDT Audio Settings" on mouse over the icon], and choose "Open Audio control panel".
    Next choose "Recording > Settings". Here choose the input you want to record with. In your case choose "Integrated Microphone Array" on the top left. Click "Settings" just bellow, slide the bar to "10db boost" on the right, and slide the recording level bar about midway up [at the bottom of the window where all the volume controls for all recording devices are].
    While you/re there, it's a good idea to mute the "External mic", and mute any other recording device that you do not need. Next, click the "Processing" tab below the settings tab, and choose "Reduce noise". Leave all the others unchecked. for these will produce a not so nice sound. This helps to eliminate fan noise and other background noise in your recording.
    Now when you open your preferred digital audio program e.g.. Audacity [it's free and pretty easy to use, see link below], you can choose the INTEGRATED MIC ARRAY in the recording options. Choose that and then "arm" the track for recording [Usually an icon with R in the recording controls] Next click "record" to begin recording. Of course these steps depend on the digital audio recording program you're using.
    If you don't have a dedicated digital audio recording program, and if you have windows 7 or vista, you can record long sessions with the default Microsoft recording program [this program is useless in XP, for it only records for like a minute or so, maximum!. A dedicated program such as Audacity records depending on how much hard drive disk space, or close to that.
    @fritz, in essence, input jacks of most current notebooks, external computer mics are mono, but they use a  stereo mini jack [or 3 band, if I understood you correctly]. These are the same as regular earphone jacks. One band is signal, one is earth, and the other is +5 Volts to drive the condenser [these are known as "condenser mics"]. But if you use a dedicated studio type recording mic, then you need a dedicated preamp, and if it is a condenser as apposed to a dynamic mic, the preamp needs to supply what's known as "phantom power" [typically 45v] through the input jack where the mic is plugged into.
    However, if you record from the mic in/line in jack of a line out of say a mic preamp, channel mixer deck, CD/DVD/TV etc., then this has to be a stereo mini jack [has 3 bands]. Special cables with 2 [stereo] RCA jacks to mini jack are the ones to use. That is if the line out connector of your recording course is RCA [your typical TV/CD//DVD audio / video out or in are RCA connectors e.g..].

  • Equium L20-197: No line-in jack - How to record from an external audio source

    Hi,
    I'm generally very pleased with my Equium L20, but am now finding a few annoyances that I guess are cost-cutting issues. For instance, there's no onboard mic, so need to buy one for Voip purposes. And I would like to use this laptop to record from an external audio source, but now discover that there is no line-in jack, and it seems the microphone jack is mono only, even if it was possible to configure the audo card to use this for line-in source.
    I'd be very grateful if anyone has any ideas for a workaround perhaps using a USB port.
    TIA
    Keith

    Hi R2D2,
    Thanks for your quick reply - it set me on the right track and I've been googling for similar solutions available in the UK. I've since found this product - http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/flypage/product_id/9326 and redhawk has pointed me at something by Creative Labs which I'll try and track down.

  • Loading multiple text files from a folder into oracle clob field

    I would like to load about 300 word documents into a oracle clob field with each document inserted as a separate record.
    I'm not quite sure how to go about doing this. Is there a utility in oracle that would do this?
    I've looked at sql loader and utl_file but both require the name of the file. Is there a way I can do this?
    If its not possible using just oracle, does anyone know how I can do this in combination with perl?
    Many Thanks
    Sam

    I have no experience with this, but pl see if MOS Doc 73787.1 (How to Read A Binary File into BLOB Using PL/SQL) can help.
    Essentially, you will have to write code to loop thru all 300 files to load them into the database

  • How to dump the complete MainDocument to a CLOB field?

    Hi all,
    is it possible to dump the complete MainDocument to a CLOB field?
    That is, starting from <?xml version=1.0> to the last closing tag?
    I have thought of two possibilities here, but I am unsure how I can actually implement them:
    1. Use a JDBC receiver to make an "INSERT INTO myTable myCLOB <MainDocument>".
    2. Tell the message mapping to simply dump the whole source message that was passed to the Integration Engine into this CLOB field.
    I am currently favoring option 2, but I have no idea yet how you can access the source message from inside the message mapping. I guess there is a system object that holds it... can you help me there?
    Thanks and cheers!
    Stefan

    Stefan
    1 . Receiver JDBC adapter expects data for the INSERT to be of a particular format.
    <root>
      <StatementName>
    <dbTableName action= “INSERT”>
        <table>realDbTableName</table>
    <access>
    <col1>xml payload from Source</col1>
    </access>
    </dbTableName>
    </StatementName>
    </root>
    Write a java or XSL mapping that will create an output of this format where the entire XML paykload is copied between COL1 . You will have to rename the fieldnames according to your table strcuture.

  • How to recording from MW600

    Hi I would like to ask if I can recording the calls, FM radio and sound from mic with MW600
    I use XPERIA X10

    It might be possible to record sounds and calls if you can find a app for it. But I don't think FM radio will be possible to record.

  • How to record from line in?

    I followed the procedure to change Apple preferences to line in and set the input volume setting. Also adjusted the Garage Band input setting. But how do you start Garage Band to start recording? After creating a new track I'm lost.

    But how do you start Garage Band to start recording? After creating a new track I'm lost.
    Select the track you want to record into, then press the red "Record" button.
    You may also want to set the Metronome and count in features in the "Control" menu:

  • How  to  record  from  mini  disc  player  into  garage  band  if  possible

    I have some audio recorded material on a minidisc player/recorder which i would like to put into the computer to work on-can i put it into garage band 2 ? and if not is thier a free or not free software/programme i can download in order to record in quality what i have on the minidisc recorder.Also can you suggest any programmes/software (like cubase)which i could use to work on the sounds i have put onto the apple mac.

    Again, mine doesn't have a USB port, so the only way to get sound on the disk is to record it through it's line in (optical or 1/8" trs). My mini disk player is old.
    I think the new ones do have a mp3 import function (and a USB port or something similar)...don't know how it works though...I think that it just records them through it's line in though...
    A mini disk is like a very small cd-r that is constantly record enabled (unless you switch the tab), like a tape casette. There is an algorythm that allows the minidisk to hold as much info as it does...that's where my confusion comes in about how it imports/exports.

  • Creating 12 monthly records from 1 recod with 12 data fields

    Greetings;
    I need to generate one record per month from one input record containing 12 monthly quantity fields.
    Does anyone have an example or document on how to do this?
    Jim

    Hi Jim,
    Proposed solution maybe not elegant, but works.
    In your communication structure you should have all characteristics and 12 KFs. As I time char you can use 0CALDAY or 0CALMONTH (just think how you will populate this char). The time char value in the file should corresponds to the first month.
    In the cube you’ll have one KF instead of 12 and a time char.
    Start routine in Urs code:
    DATA: wa_temp TYPE DATA_PACKAGE_STRUCTURE OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
    *Here we populate additional internal tables with values for February – December.
    Original Data_Package will hold data for January
    LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE INTO wa_temp.
    wa_temp-/BIC/YourKF = wa_temp-/BIC/KeyFigure02.
    Assign here wa_temp-CALDAY or wa_temp-CALMONTH for February
    APPEND wa_temp.
    wa_temp-/BIC/YourKF = wa_temp-/BIC/KeyFigure03.
    Assign here wa_temp-CALDAY or wa_temp-CALMONTH for March
    APPEND wa_temp.
    wa_temp-/BIC/YourKF = wa_temp-/BIC/KeyFigure12.
    Assign here wa_temp-CALDAY or wa_temp-CALMONTH for December
    APPEND wa_temp.
    ENDLOOP.
    Append data for February-December to January data
    LOOP AT wa_temp.
    APPEND wa_temp TO DATA_PACKAGE.
    ENDLOOP.
      ABORT = 0.
    Best regards,
    Eugene

  • Find matching records from two tables, useing three key fields, then replace two fields in table1 from table2

    I have two tables - table1 and table2 - that have the exact same schema. There are three fields that can be used to compare the data of the two tables, field1, field2, and field3. When there are matching rows in the two tables (table1.field1/2/3 = table2.field1/2/3)
    I want to replace table1.field4 with table2.field4 and replace table1.field5 with table2.field5.
    I have worked with the query but have come up with goobly goop. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

    If your field1, field2, and field3 combinations in these tables are unique, you
    can do a join on them.
    Select t1.field4, t2.field4 , t1.field5, t2.field5
    from table1 t1 inner join table2 t2 on t1.field1 =t2.field1 and t1.field2=t2.field2 AND t1.field3=t2.field3
    --You can update your table1 with following code:
    Merge table1 t1
    using table2 t2 on
    on t1.field1 =t2.field1 and t1.field2=t2.field2 AND t3.field3=t2.field3
    When matched then
    Update Set
    t1.field4= t2.field4
    ,t1.field5 = t2.field5 ;

  • Need help for SQL SELECT query to fetch XML records from Oracle tables having CLOB field

    Hello,
    I have a scenario wherein i need to fetch records from several oracle tables having CLOB fields(which is holding XML) and then merge them logically to form a hierarchy XML. All these tables are related with PK-FK relationship. This XML hierarchy is having 'OP' as top-most root node and ‘DE’ as it’s bottom-most node with One-To-Many relationship. Hence, Each OP can have multiple GM, Each GM can have multiple DM and so on.
    Table structures are mentioned below:
    OP:
    Name                             Null                    Type
    OP_NBR                    NOT NULL      NUMBER(4)    (Primary Key)
    OP_DESC                                        VARCHAR2(50)
    OP_PAYLOD_XML                           CLOB
    GM:
    Name                          Null                   Type
    GM_NBR                  NOT NULL       NUMBER(4)    (Primary Key)
    GM_DESC                                       VARCHAR2(40)
    OP_NBR               NOT NULL          NUMBER(4)    (Foreign Key)
    GM_PAYLOD_XML                          CLOB
    DM:
    Name                          Null                    Type
    DM_NBR                  NOT NULL         NUMBER(4)    (Primary Key)
    DM_DESC                                         VARCHAR2(40)
    GM_NBR                  NOT NULL         NUMBER(4)    (Foreign Key)
    DM_PAYLOD_XML                            CLOB
    DE:
    Name                          Null                    Type
    DE_NBR                     NOT NULL           NUMBER(4)    (Primary Key)
    DE_DESC                   NOT NULL           VARCHAR2(40)
    DM_NBR                    NOT NULL           NUMBER(4)    (Foreign Key)
    DE_PAYLOD_XML                                CLOB
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    SELECT
    j.op_nbr||'||'||j.op_desc||'||'||j.op_paylod_xml AS op_paylod_xml,
    i.gm_nbr||'||'||i.gm_desc||'||'||i.gm_paylod_xml AS gm_paylod_xml,
    h.dm_nbr||'||'||h.dm_desc||'||'||h.dm_paylod_xml AS dm_paylod_xml,

    h.dm_nbr = g.dm_nbr(+) and
    i.gm_nbr = h.gm_nbr(+) and
    j.op_nbr = i.op_nbr(+)
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    I am using above SQL select statement for fetching the XML records and this gives me all related xmls for each entity in a single record(OP, GM, DM. DE). Output of this SQL query is as below:
    Current O/P:
    <resultSet>
         <Record1>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML1>
         </Record1>
         <Record2>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XML2>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML2>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XML2>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML2>
         </Record2>
         <RecordN>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XMLN>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XMLN>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XMLN>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XMLN>
         </RecordN>
    </resultSet>
    Now i want to change my SQL query so that i get following output structure:
    <resultSet>
         <Record>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML1>

              <DE_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML2> .......
              <DE_PAYLOD_XMLN>
         </Record>
         <Record>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XML2>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML1'>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML2'> .......
              <GM_PAYLOD_XMLN'>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XML1'>

              <DM_PAYLOD_XMLN'>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML1'>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML2'> .......
              <DE_PAYLOD_XMLN'>
         </Record>
    <resultSet>
    Appreciate your help in this regard!

    Hi,
    A few questions :
    How's your first query supposed to give you an XML output like you show ?
    Is there something you're not telling us?
    What's the content of, for example, <OP_PAYLOD_XML1> ?
    I don't think it's a good idea to embed the node level in the tag name, it would make much sense to expose that as an attribute.
    What's the db version BTW?
