yours recovery asking a lot of archivelog ,you are in the situation now like you are in no archive mode recovery..which requires last cold backup.
What you can do is restore yours old backup with its old controlfile and then recover till before that miissing log by using recover database using backup controlfile.

    Hi,
Archive log files are the copies of redolog files. As redo log files are circularly overwritten, oracle generates archive log file of the corresponding redo logfiles being overwritten. So if you have a backup that dates back to 10 am in the morning and if your database creashed at 3 pm,you cannot use the redo log files alone as they have incomplete information. To completely recover the database upto 3 pm,you need archive log files generated between 10 am to 3 pm. In your case since you are missing one archive log file, you cannot perform complete recovery and hence would suffer data loss.

  • How i recover my database

    Regards,

10g means what? Please provide a full and complete version number.
What do you mean by logical and physical backup ... be very specific and clear. For example don't say "export" indicate whether it was made with exp or datapump and how you were logged on and the parameters used when it was created.
What do you mean by "crash." Again be very specific and clear.
We can do more harm by guessing your situation whereas we can help if we know what actually happened.

  • How to recover 10.6 after getting mangled by CoreAudio

hi- about two days ago i experienced a sever system crash- i was trying to install the CoreAudio drivers to use Virtual DJ and messed up most of OS X. i could boot properly but almost nothing worked, including iTunes, FInder, Chrome, Safari, and so on. i tried debugging for a while (deleting the drivers, reinstalling chrome, running disc utility, running onyx, so on) with no results so i reinstalled osx and that has brought be this far. at this point most of the system has recovered except for two (maybe three) things. one is that disc utility still shows inconsistencies in the permissions of many of my system files. it also fails to fix any of them. onyx does the same. also my internet protocols have been effected. chrome has become unusable to a cue- crashing pretty consistantly and demonstrating this unstability. safari doesnt even load my homepage without freezing, forcing me to force close it. skype is also very unstable, and firefox does not run either.
if anyone knows how to recover 10.6 after getting mangled by CoreAudio, please help. tnx.

Ignore the disk utility repair permissions.  Stuff is always reported.  Scan over this.
The fact that your internet related apps aren't working implies that you should look at your network system preferences.  Are you using ethernet or wireless?  Are you using default DNS servers or something like the OpenDNS servers (208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220)?  DHCP?  Is there a green dot next to the connection type you are using?

yes it is a datafile corruptionYou did not say how you defined that's a datafile corruption. You provide minimum to zero information.
I just need to bring the database up,no need any exact data
I can refresh from prod laterThen drop and recreate database. Basically and since you are not in archive mode, no recover is possible. Period.

  • Recovering production database after a loss to Prod database server and SAN

So I was asked this morning... can we recover our database if we lose both the database server and the SAN.
    A bit of information:
    Database: 10gR2
    Using ASM
    Backing up to ASM
    SAN is onsite
My initial response was of course we backup at least twice a day, and then once a week move those backups to an offsite location.
Then I started thinking about it some more. If we lose the SAN we have offsite backups of the entire SAN once a week so we could recover the SAN. If we were to lose the server we would lose the diskgroups where the backups are being stored.
So my question is… and don’t laugh for me never thinking about it before please lol, but do I need to backup the ASM instance in order to be able to restore ASM to be able to get to my backups which are stored inside ASM diskgroups? If so do I need to do this old school by shutting it down and backing it up since there isn’t any archiving going on? If not does anyone recommend a certain way of going about this type of thing?
    Thanks in advance
    Luke

    Hi Luke,
I think the answers to your questions are fluid, and can be stated as "it depends". If your SAN backup was created as a "snap", for example, a BCV on EMC systems, then likely you can get all your database in your ASM diskgroups. As long as all the disks in the diskgroups were snapped at the same time. Really, though, your best bet is always an RMAN backup which can be done even if your database is not in archive log mode. You can use rman to stop the database, restart it to mount mode and then back up the entire database, though I would suggest that if this is a production system that you do run in archive log mode.
    Cheers!

  • How to recover purchased apps after changing an Apple ID?

So I changed my apple id because my current email address is not working anymore on Yahoo. The next day when I checked for some updated on my apps, I found out that my deleted apps under "Not on this iPod" button are missing! And so I checked the store for my recent purchase and it has price. So it means I have to pay for them again to download! Anyone please help me how to recover them all!

Despite the fact that your old email doesn't work doesn't work anymore, the Apple ID still does.  Log out and back in again with the old ID and downlload the apps.  When finished, log out/in again to get back to your new ID.
These apps should sync to iTunes on your computer.  If they do not, do the same log out/in in iTunes to retrieve the apps and store them on your computer.
The Sync function is totally independent of which ID was used to obtain the apps, music, movies, etc.  The only time that you will care is when you need to update the app.  If you choose to do it from iTunes, you must again log out/in to update.  However, the iPod handles that for you and all you'll need is the correct password.

  • How to recover the workflow after dead line is missed

    Dear friends,
my work item missed requested end date as well as latest end date. I see it in
transaction SWI2_DEAD. Is there way how to recover the work item or prolonge
    the dead lines?
    Thanks for you help.
    Regards,
    Petr.

    Hi Petr,
Could you please explain in a little more detail, what exactly you mean by "recover"?
Nothing actually happens to the work item, unless you have designed the workflow with modelled deadlines in such a way that it cancels the item and perform some or other action. Simple deadlines don't do anything to the work item, they just send out a notification and the work item remains where it is.
If on the other hand you have a modelled deadline which cancels the item and generates a new one, then there is no way to "recover" other than starting a new workflow.
    Cheers,
    Mike

  • Redo log files are deleted, how to recover the database

    Hi All,
I removed the redo01.log, redo02.log and redo03.log files of our Oracle database. And it caused the db to fail. Is there any way I can recover the database and startup database in normal mode? I do not need it to have all the latest data restored, I will be happy to just start the db and get going.
database is in arcive log mode.

    Hello,
You may try this if the database is mounted:
    recover database until cancel;
    cancel
alter database open resetlogs;Hope it can help.

  • HT1391 how to recover itunes library after reformatting computer - has also wiped my ipod clean when I tried to transfer the music from there

Hi - I have reformatted my computer and want to know how to recover my tunes that were on itunes - I have tried to transfer the tunes from my ipod but it has wiped this clean too - any suggestions welcome!!

*If my kids dock up their iPods to charge them (the iPods still have the music on them) will the computer "sync" the iPod to the now empty library that's on the computer?*
If the iPods are set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent an iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys together. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. You should then be able to change your settings: iTunes for Mac - Keyboard Shortcuts
Once the iPods are connected it might be a good idea to change them to manual updating at least until you have your library back in shape. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different, you can get details here:
    Managing content manually on iPod
    iPod - Syncing Music
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod
