Remember any restoring of bookmarks overwrites whatever he current set is, and you may not want to loose them.
Even if up until now you have not made any backups of Desktop bookmarks Firefox will have backed up some of them into sets of daily bookmark backups. Once you have backed up your current set you could look at what it has by restoring those bookmarks, you may find one of those sets is fairly complete.
By the way if you look at the profile files and folders that you should now have on the desktop you should see it contains a bookmarks backup folder, the size of the files within should indicate whether they contain anything.
You need to go into the bookmarks library and try the restore option. Backup each set that you look at if it has anything of use in it, before trying the next set. With look one of those will be a fairly complete set of bookmarks.

I do not use Firefox on mobiles, but before you try anything further you do need to backup the desktop bookmarks and learn what existing backups you have. Unless you master that you are in continual danger of overwriting and loosing bookmarks.

Since updating to mavericks my mac boook pro locks up 3 to 4 times a day, the only way to recover is to hard reboot the system. This started 2 days ago - about 15 days after upgrading. All teh apps are visible just can't do anything with them.

Please determine if the problems also occur in "Safe Mode":

You must disable FileVault before you can start your Mac in Safe Mode.
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
Merely starting your Mac in Safe Mode is not intended to resolve the problem, it's to observe its performance without certain additional components.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.

I discovered this problem this morning after upgarding to Mavericks.
I've found an easy answer: Apple have changed the way it confirms the addition of Groups it seems.
Type the name of the group in the Cc: or Bcc: field, hit the Space bar, then hit Enter. Vavoom!!

You need to upgrade to the latest 64 bit Mavericks optimized, compatible version of iPhoto.
Older versions of iPhoto will no longer work under OS X Mavericks.
What will happen is that the new iPhoto library will be updated to work the new version of iPhoto an Mavericks and the updated iPhoto library will no longer be accessible to older versions of iPhoto or older versions of OS X.
If you want to be able to access the current configuration of your Libary with older version of iPhoto an older versions of OS X, then you need to create a copy of the IPhoto lIbrary and move this copy to another location
You can save the duplicate iPhoto Library anywhere on your Mac's internal hard drive.
I created a new folder in my Home folder/directory called My Photos and stored the duplicate iPhoto library there along with other images I didn't want to be in iPhoto.
As long as the copy of the iPhoto library is made before you let the new version of iPhoto convert it, it will still be intact for older versions of iPhoto and OS X to access at some future date, if needed.

two days ago i installed windows 8 on my (HP pavilion g6-1156ee) and i downloaded the drivers from hp site and bios update F65 , after that i installed back windows 7 and there are some hardware faliure (WLAN-DVD Rom)

Once the BIOS has been updated (like you said, to F65), you cannot go back to an older version. However, perhaps restoring BIOS default settings may help you. Turn off the PC, then turn it back on. As soon as you do, press ESC to open the start up menu, and push the button next to the option for BIOS Settings (should be F10). In the menu, there should be a "restore default settings" option, choose that and then save settings. The PC will reboot.

And make sure you have all of the latest drivers for your OS installed.

How to recover the old mysql database?

Hi. I did un upgrade of my Leopard to Snow (not Server). I've made a "Carbon Copy" and erase all my HD to restart everything, as the old Lopard was allready "fat", malfunction, etc..
I've forgot of MySQL! I'm re-installing but I'll have to export all databases I got online back to my machine (the oposite way). This is not really good because my local versions got users for testing only, less size for testing purposes... anyway, will be good take back my databases!
I boot from the copy but Apache didn't start up, don't know why, this will be a hard job (couldn't be easy uhn, export all by phpmysql).
I think the easy way is found the archives (the files that containing the databases) and copy back to newer installation...
Any ideas?

When you boot from cloned backup, does mysql work in terminal?
So open terminal, type mysql
If yes then you can do a mysql dump to file then install on new setup.

I have new 4s. Backed up old 3G on iTunes, attempted to sync new 4s to iTunes and keep getting message that new iphone does not have 10.5 but have downloaded on all Mac devices. How do I get old settings to my new 4s?

I purchased the new iPhone 4S tonight. Previously used the 3G. Synced the 3G, plugged in the new 4S and got message could new iPhone did not have 10.5 and to go to iTunes and download. Did that on both new 4S and made sure iTunes on Mac had 10.5. Tried again. Got same message. Cannot sync new 4S to iTunes and restore to move my photos and contacts to new 4S. What can I do?

How do I fix the audio dropouts and clipping/clicking since upgrading to Mavericks?

Since I upgraded to Mavericks on both my MacBook Pro (15" Mid 2010) and my Mac Pro (2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, Early 2009), I've been getting various audio playback issues.
Randomly, I can be on a website like YouTube or Vimeo, or using software like Ableton or iTunes, or even just Quicktime, and the audio starts struggling and clicking/popping.
Considering I'm an audio engineer by trade, this is more than a little annoying. A restart seems to temporarily fix it, but it can happen hours or even minutes later.
Anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix?

I'm having this problems too on my audio interfaces, it's soooooooo really really ultra annoying... gosh, if just i'm not installing this horrible Mavericks update. PLEASE APPLE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!!
