How to recover renamed .dbx files

Hi,My team begun to have troubles with large.dbx files.. 600 to 700Mb these files were stored in a folder called inbox_store.dbx (automatic storage through filter)I renamed the folder directly in the .dbx storage folder as Storage_backupAfter opening outlook express, the inbox_storage.dbx was recreated, containing only new incoming files. Then I tried to read the mails stored in Storage_backup.. Despite it's size (700Mb), no mails were seen.I tried the old trick : saved that file elsewhere with a new name (a copy) gave a new name to it.. recover.dbx create a recover folder with OE6 clicked that folder t create a recover.dbx file closed OE moved the previous 700Mb recover.dbx file to the .dbx storage folder answered yes to the overwite thing opened OE again found the recover folder EMPTYI tried the process with 400Mb files and it...

Sometimes faced with a situation where archiver refuses to unpack ZIP format tainted because of the internal structure.
Similar trouble happens for a variety of reasons: the incorrect delivery by e-mail archive, incomplete (partial) file
downloading from the Internet, copy data from corrupted media.
To repair a corrupt zip file you need a special zip repair tool, like
ZIP Recovery Toolbox. It read and extract files
from archive on HDD. Later you can re-create archive again from a saved files.

Check the Recycle Bin--if you've accidentally deleted the file, it should still be there unless you've emptied the bin, and you can click on the file and
    recover it.
Use the Auto Recovery Pane when you open Excel. Review the document recovery pane. If Excel has managed to recover your file, it will show in a separate
pane on the left-hand side. Identify your document in the pane, then click on it and choose "Open" to open the recovered file.
Try manually repairing the file. Click on "File" in Excel 2003 or the "Office" button in
Excel 2007, then select "Open" and click on the arrow next to the "Open" button. Click on
"Open and Repair" and choose from two options: click on "Repair" if you want to try to completely recover the file, or click on "Extract
Data" if you previously tried Step 1 and it did not work.
Search for the file manually on your computer. When performing a system search (click "Start" and select "Search" in Windows XP and
Windows 2000, or press the "Windows" button and "F" key in Windows 7 and Vista), make sure you choose "Advanced Search Options" and then check the "System and hidden files" check box. You may be able to find your missing
or corrupted file using this search: double-click on the file name in the search results to open it.

Look at the files in Windows Explorer and see if they have the proper extension (.jpeg, .tiff, .psd etc). They may have been dropped or renamed. If so, make a copy of one of the files and append the extension you should be using and see if it opens.
Be sure to do a virus scan of those files first!

  • How to recover a single file

As far as we know there is no way to recover a single file out of a database (incremental or full) backup - full database recovery is no option.
However, the recovery of single files used to be a common task of our user help desk.
Any ideas how to achieve this with OCS?

Oracle Files has a two level trash. When users delete a file it goes into their Trash folder - and they can recover such files themselves. If they empty their Trash folder the contents are moved to the Archive. The subscriber adminstrator can recover files from the Archive.
The subscriber administrator can configure how long files stay in the Archive before they are deleted.
    hope that helps,

  • How to repair damaged DBX file of outlook express?

I am currently having 4 GB data available in inbox.dbx. But there is one problem with that. I am not able to see my mails as header corrupt the dbx files. This is very annoying. I tried many things to solve the problem from my side but it was not helpful
to me. So I am leaving the question over here so that I can get the response from you people that what should I do to repair the damaged DBX file of outlook express. Thank you so much in advance for reading and replying to this thread.

The manual solution starts with finding or locating the corrupted DBX file(s). You need to start the Registry
Editor to find the location where Outlook Express stores its files. Follow the steps given below to know how to do this:
Press Win+R to open the Run window.
    Type regedit into
    it and press enter.
The Registry Editor window will be opened. In the left hand side pane, expand the folders in
    this manner:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Identities > XYZ > Software > Microsoft > Outlook
    Express > 5.0
Now in the right hand side pane, locate the Store Root settings from the list and double-click
    it.
The path will be shown where Outlook Express stores its files. Copy the full path from there.
Once you have copied the path, you need to move the mailbox file(s). Follow the steps given below to know
    how to do this:
First of all close the Outlook Express program if it is opened.
Now paste the path (copied earlier) on your Windows directory and press enter.
You can copy or move all the files from this location to a new location. After that, delete all the files from the
original location if you have copied them.
In the third step, you need to import the DBX file(s) into Outlook Express. It would be easy for Outlook
Express to import the file(s) without causing any trouble. Follow the steps given below to know how to do this:
Start Outlook Express on your system.
Click on File menu > Import.
    The Outlook Express Import window
will be opened. Select the Outlook Express version in the list from which you want to import the emails. If you are unsure with that, you can select Outlook Express 6. Click on Next.
Now click on Browse to select the directory where the files are saved. This is the very same
directory in which you have moved the files from original location earlier. Click on Next.
Select the items you want to import. For example: you can import All folders or the Selected
    folders. Click on Next.
Now start your Outlook Express and check your mailbox folders again.

  • RECOVER RENAMED KEYNOTE FILE

    Hello,
    My mistake:
im new to keynotes and its icloud, and figured it would work like dropbox.
I finished my 6 hours keynote session.
So, working on Keynotes and the file in Cloud, i decided to make a stripped version of less MB by deleting slides.
Renamed the file, moved the file to my desktop, and started deleting images and sensitive text slides
Than I realised, i might have not been back-uped from icloud.
    PROBLEM
    file not in Icloud anymore
half of my keynote file stripped, and cannot undo anymore
looked on discussions for hours, no real solutions yet
Also file not in "HIDDEN" Library/mobile documents...
    Status: all software updated.
    Downloaded: Diskdrill
Found: file00075.db3 file (could be about the size of my file)
Issue: cannot retrieve the file, even just the text back im already happy
    QUESTION:
    is there any way:
    1) Icloud somehow has a backup of a file that is moved from icloud to desktop?
    2) once the files was fully on the desktop, but was renamed and closed, is  there no temp file? How to find?
    3) how can i open this *.db3 files, or even, how to find them back in finder?
    I fear the worst...
    Thanks

Just happened to my  lost 12 hours of work,  been saving just fine all day then WHAM.

Here are the simple steps to repair data file in QuickBooks.
Step 1: Close the software as soon as you receive damaged data file error message.
Step 2: Now open the software. It will make a new Qbwin.log file.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Window’ option and then from the drop-down menu, click on ‘Close All’. Now go the ‘File’ option then from the drop-down menu, click on ‘Utilities’. A menu will appear.
Step 4: From that list select ‘Verify Data’. If QuickBooks reports that there is no issue it means your data is alright. On the other side, if you get a message saying “Your data has lost integrity” or “A data problem prevents QuickBooks from continuing” it
means your data is corrupted or has a structural issue. And in this case, you will have to run the Rebuild Data tool.
Step 5: Click on ‘Windows’ and select ‘Close All’ in order to close all the QuickBooks windows.
Step 6: To launch the Rebuild Data tool, click on ‘File’ and select ‘Utilities’. Now from the drop-down menu, go to ‘Rebuild Data’ option.
Step 7: Click on ‘OK’ and a pop-up will come warning you to take a backup of your file. It is recommended to create an entirely new backup file and don’t overwrite the existing file. To prevent overwriting, give a new name to the file when prompted.
Click 8: Wait for some time and let the Rebuild Data Utility finish the process. When completed, click on ‘OK’.
Step 9: Close the company file. Reopen the file to refresh the list.
Step 10: Select the company file and now to launch the file, click on ‘Open’.
Step 11: In order to verify if the data file is clean and is repaired, again run the Verify Data utility.
