How to relink form executables - 6i

Platform: Windows Forms Developer 6.0.8.11 (client/server) - Yes, I know this is desupported and way outdated.
Per a workaround for a reported bug in this version, I have installed required support files from RDBMS 8.0.6.3.13.
Now I need to relink my form executables. The instructions say to run make -f ins_forms60w.mk install from my $ORACLE_HOME/forms60/lib folder. The problem is that this folder doesn't exist on windows. A search for this .mk file turned up nothing.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Relinking the executables is only necessary when your application is deployed to an UNIX environment. Have you tried your application without completing this step?
Hope this helps,
Craig B-)

  • Relinking Forms executable in Oracle 11i

    Hi Friends,
    I am facing an issue where after i starts the forms server using adfrmctl.sh, it works fine for a few hours after which i receive an FRM-92050 error in forms application. I have to restart the forms server again to get it back working and this cycle continues. Once i get the FRM-92050 error, i check the OS for the processes and f60srvm as well as 1-5 f60webmx processes are up & the forms port is listening as well(using netstat -an|grep 9000). No changes have been done to the environment. I am thinking about relinking the forms executable. Is the following command enough and will it affect any other binaries. Should i take a complete backup of the system before running the below statement.
    $ adrelink.sh force=y "fnd f60webmx"
    Thanks

    The previous DBA over here had warned against running Adconfig on either db/application tier as there are some custom environment files in the system and this will be overwritten once autconfig is run.Are the customizations well-documented? If so, it should be possible to extract the customizations to templates or custom .env files, so they will not be overwritten by AutoConfig. You should probably consider finding out about those customizations anyway, or the next time that you apply a patch that invokes AutoConfig, you could be in trouble. :-)
    That's a side discussion, though. For your main issue, as Hussein suggests, it would be helpful to see the entire error message, not just the generic part.

  • Relinking forms executables results in "No rule to make target"

    In the course of installing Forms 11.1.1.4 on weblogic 11gR1 (10.3.4), I ran into an issue after installing patch p9473270 (refer to Oracle Doc ID 1276725.1). The ERP system vendor recommends relinking the forms executables after applying this patch with the following commands:
    Relink the Oracle forms binaries:
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib
    make -f ins_forms.mk frmcmp_install
    make –f ins_forms.mk frmbld_install
    make –f ins_forms.mk frmcmpb_install
    make –f ins_forms.mk frmweb_install
    The second command resulted in an error:
    $ make –f ins_forms.mk frmbld_install
    make: *** No rule to make target `–f'. Stop.
    After researching this issue, I tried the following command :
    $ relink forms
    This successfully relinked all forms executables.
    -rwx------ 1 oracle dba 12510433 Jan 20 20:11 frmcmp
    -rwx------ 1 oracle dba 20547 Jan 20 20:11 frmctrl
    -rwx------ 1 oracle dba 13721638 Jan 20 20:11 frmcmp_batch
    -rwx------ 1 oracle dba 12510975 Jan 20 20:11 frmbld
    -rwx------ 1 oracle dba 15275747 Jan 20 20:11 frmweb
    Any thoughts on the usage of "relink forms" vs. the make command? Or why I was encountering the error " No rule to make target"?

    Hi,
    Is it possible to do the following tasks for a particular schema (say inv):
    1. Relink the executables for INV schema using adadmin utility.
    2. Regenerate the forms for INV schema using adadmin utility.Yes, it is possible for specific schema -- See (Note: 141118.1 - How To Relink Forms Library Files Using Adadmin) for details.
    3. Check if there are any invalid objects in the database where the issue is replicated INV schema.Through adadmin, it is not possible for specific schema. To check the list of invalid objects under the INV schema, you need to run this query:

  • Relinking Forms and Reports executables

    Hello All,
    I am relinking forms and reports, using below commands, as part of Java 1.7 downgrade.
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib32
    $ make -f ins_forms.mk sharedlib install
    cd $ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib32
    $ make -f ins_reports.mk install
    What i found is, the timestamp of the files under these directories($ORACLE_HOME/forms/lib32  and  $ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib32) is not that of today rather it's old timestamp. How to make sure that I have completed this task(relinking forms and reports executables) successfully?
    Thanks,

  • Timeline inside timeline: how to relink to original clips?

    Hello. One of our editors has started huge project in FCP 7 from organizing every shoot day in separated timelines. Then he has started editing using these timelines like a source clips, so, finally we have "master edit" made using 10+ timelines, instead of source clips. Now I need to export an EDL file (master or source EDL - doesn't matter), and I can't: EDL file contain links to the timelines, used for edit, but not to the source files. Is there is a quick way how to relink enclosed timeline (cutted like normal source clip) in to the source clips, which were used in this enclosed timeline?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dmytro

    Ahhh...thanks for the further explaination.
    OK...did they build the main sequence out of the other timelines in that they appear as 10 solid, separate things?  Or did he use them as source clips and cut several times?  If the former, then it should be easier, just open the nests and copy and paste the original clips to replace the nests. If the latter...whoo-boy.
    Talk to the client like this: Explain the issue with how he cut the sequence, how it is presenting a problem. Now, he can either pay your hourly rate to fix the issue so that you can online properly (which you'll be only so happy to do!), or you can offer that he fix it and save a few bucks.  Up to them.
    Or you can do it your way too...online each of the sequences separately...again, explaining that you'll be happy to do that, but also explain the time and storage involved in doing that.

  • How can Run Forms in Oracle9i DS

    I have installed Oracle9i DS with complete option under Win XP Professional. I have now serious prob to run Form executables becoz of its new web technology.
    1. when i run the form it gives error message, there is no HTTP listner on port 8888 in local machine.
    Solution: Then i create the listner named HTTP and i gave port number 8888 and i started the listner.
    2. Then again when i try to run, it opens the MSN explorer, but the opening process is going on without end.
    Please give me a solution how to solve this problem.
    --- Raj

    I have the same problem here.
    I have installed Oracle9i DS with complete option under Win XP Professional. Now I got the common problem
    "HTTP listner on port 8888 in local machine has not started".
    So, I started OC4J instance. But it gives message in command window like this
    C:\Documents and Settings\Eugene>G:\oracle\OraDev\jdk\bin\java -Dorg.omg.CORBA.O
    RBClass=com.inprise.vbroker.orb.ORB -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBSingletonClass=com.inpris
    e.vbroker.orb.ORB -Doracle.security.jazn.config=G:\oracle\OraDev\j2ee\Oracle9iDS
    \config\jazn.xml -Doracle.home=G:\oracle\OraDev -DORACLE_HOME=G:\oracle\OraDev -
    jar G:\oracle\OraDev\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar -userThreads -config G:\oracle\OraDev\j2
    ee\Oracle9iDS\config\server.xml
    Oracle9iAS (9.0.2.0.0) Containers for J2EE initialized
    Then it freezes... and nothing happens after that. Could you please, help me to figure out what can be preventing this service from starting. I don't think I have created any new listeners (don't know how to do it). I was palying with cauprefs.ora and cagprefs.ora files a bit, but now have restored them to the original state.
    Thanks alot to everyone!

  • Query for oracle form executable

    1)How can we run executable (Forms & Reports) generated by Form & reports utilities of Internet Developers Suit in two tier architecture.
    2)We want to keep all executables at a particular location on our local server and run these from client’s (computer). I mean to say that run time engine for forms and reports to install at client withour using OAS.
    3) How can we run the OC4J instance at client site? Although we do not want to install full IDS on client computer in two tier architecture

    Ad 1). For production purposes you have to run your forms trough OAS (it's a licence thing, not a techie thing)
    Ad 2). You could do some magic with network shares, etc. but again, see point 1
    Ad 3). You don't want to run a OC4J instance for production purposes, since you cannot control client settings, etc.
    So, in short: just buy the license for OAS and setup a proper server.

  • How to relink OPMN

    We have an AS 9.0.4 installation on AIX 5.3 ML02.
    After applying some APARs (AIX patch sets) we relink the AS 9.0.4 follow this Metalink Note: 245375.1
    All the software, are relinked but I not see that the "opmn" are relinked (the executables in the /opmn/bin are unchanged and the libraries in the /opmn/lib to).
    Obvious, the matter here, is the opmn don't start (opmnctl start) :((
    The error in /opmn/logs/ons.log is:
    SSLGetSGCClient in the libnnz9_dynamic.a
    The news, if we reinstall the complete software the opmnctl start ran!
    The OUI is doing something more, that the Note:245375.1!!!???
    Tx,
    Diego.

    How about
    ps -flu oracle | grep "opmn " | awk '$5==1 {print $4}'
    You can combine grep with awk. The trailing space after "opmn" is to prevent showing processes with opmn in directory path such as my "/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/opmn/bin/ons" process.
    You can also do something like
    pstree -c -n -p | grep opmn | somestringprocessing
    Let me know how it goes.

  • Relinking of Executables

    Would someone please point me to a well written explanation of what happens when Oracle executables are relinked and why that occasionally needs to be done? I also want to understand what the "link" is.
    I am about to apply several Oracle patches and one includes instructions on executing the relink command in UNIX. I can execute the command, but I would like to understand why there is a need to do it and what effect it has.
    Also, the patch instructions include instructions to re-link any customer executables. How do I know if I have any customer executables?
    The instructions below are taken from the patch:
    # This patch updates the client shared library.
    # Please re-link all installed
    # executables that are linked to this library
    # ($ORACLE_HOME/lib/libclntsh.a).
    # The simplest way to do this for Oracle executables is ;
    # % cd $ORACLE_HOME/bin
    # % relink all
    # You will also need to re-link any customer executables using the client
    # shared library.
    Thank you,
    Bill

    Hi,
    Relinking of executable means,
    Generation of executable with updated library files which contains oracle internal functions etc. Most of the library files are found in $ORACLE_HOME/lib $ORACLE_HOME/lib32 directory. Only affected executables are generated or linked after the patch installation.
    For a reference you can also look at following link which specified what make effect what executables (this link is old referring to 8i,9i databases).

    Hi Khan,
    Running AD Relink
    Run AD Relink as follows.
    1. Set the environment.
    You must set the environment to indicate the location of the configuration
    parameters that define your system. This task is common to many AD utilities. See
    Setting the Environment in Chapter 1.
    2. Relink files.
    Run AD Relink with the following command:
    UNIX:
    S adrelink.sh force=n "ad <executable name>"
    Windows:
    C:\> sh adrelink.sh force=n "ad <executable name>"
