How to remove a zombie composite instance

Our production environment purged all history before a certain date because of space issues. A lot of previous composite instances were also cleaned up. However a zombie instance is re-awakening randomly (1-72 hours) and faulting. Our initial assumption is that the composite version it is referring to is no longer present.
The instance id is no longer showing up when we query for it in the Enterprise Manager. We also don't see a pattern on when or why it awakens. It also survives server restarts. I found an article[1] that discusses using composite APIs but would this work if the same instance is not showing up if we search for it in the Enterprise manager?

Thanks.

Hi,
In EM
Go to soa-infra -> SOA Administartion -> BPEL Properties -> More Advanced BPEL Properties -> recoveryConfig
Put the value maxMessageRaiseSize to 0, to disable auto recovery and alse the start and end times to 00:00
You may need a restart to take this effect.. not sure about that.
Now go to soa-infra -> Service Engines -> BPEL -> Recovery
Search for your zombie composite revision in Invoke, Callback and Activity, if any mark them cancelled.
Thanks,
Jp

    Hi Sridhar,
    You can definitely remove an instance completey. When you select uninstall option using sapinst, it will give you a list of running instances on the node using profile files.
    You can select which one to uninstall.

    i want one more instance of database.Can you perhaps explain why? I have a fair share of production and development servers - and not a single one of them needs to run more than one database instance.
    So I'm interested in what requirement you are trying to satisfy by using two database instances on a single platform.
    Oh yeah - if you want to create a custom XE instance (different SID, different tablespace sizes, more/less PL/SQL stuff installed, hack standard), make a copy of your XE db creation script (in your XE's +$ORACLE_HOME/bin+ and called createdb.sh ) and modify that for your needs.
    PS. even with a different SID, only a single XE instance can be run at a time - you can however have 2 different ones defined and then use one at a time (e.g. testing international settings, init param differences, etc.)

  • How to remove a member from cluster while CQ (cq5.5) instances are running?

    Hello,
    I have a query:
    how to remove a member from cluster while CQ instances are running? And is there any particular log to check that it got removed?
    Thanks in advance..

    I might be wrong. AFAIK you do not have the option to remove without shutting down and modfying cluster.properties.
    However this usecase would be minimal because before going into production you would have verified your architecture.

  • How to remove all instance in a repeatable subform (bis)

    Hi Niall,
    A few years ago, you helped a user who asked "How to remove all instance in a repeatable subform". Please could you do again with approximately the same problem ?
    In a click event, I have the script "_CarteEN.addInstance();". Well ! Many cards appear. To protect them, I put above a mask (it's a button with a background Fill). Now, how can I do to remove all masks with only one click using the resetdata or anything else...
    I try this but it doesn't work.
    while (flowedSubform.CarteEN._CacheCV.count > 2)
         flowedSubform.CarteEN._CacheCV.removeInstance(1);
    Many thanks for your help !

    There is no subform named "flowedSubform"
    The "CacheCV" is not a container object (subform). so you can't access the instanceManger of this object.
    the below lines should work
    while(_CarteEN.count >1)
         _CarteEN.removeInstance(1);

  • How to remove all scripts on object instances?

    I'm looking for any kind of solution here, besides disabling the warning.
    I hate it when I'm converting someone else's AS2 project to AS3, and there's code buried on an onstage instance somewhere, which gives me the warning:
    "Actions on button or MovieClip instances are not supported in ActionScript 3.0. All scripts on object instances will be ignored."
    How can I:
         A) Find which instances have code on them.
              or
         B) Remove all code on all instances.
    Idea:
    Can I save as a different format/version/something and lose this data somehow. Then I could convert it back its current FLA format?

    YES!!! So awesome!!  Thanks

    I've found the reason... :-)
    I'm using the designer from Acrobat professional instead of the designer from Adobe LiveCycle.
    I've got Acrobat professionnal 7.0.0 and trying your sample it didn't function.
    Knowing that there was a new version of Acrobat professional (7.0.7)I've installed it, and now your sample function.
    I have to mention that the count method is not listed in the choice menu that appears when you're typing code inside the designer. It means that some functions have to be tryed even if the popup menu of the list of available methods doesn't mention it.. (in this case it's the count method)... :-)
    There are a lot of things like that (for example there is the checkbox problems that are not good managed before Acrobat Reader 7.0.7, and Acrobat professional 7.0.7)
    So I suggest to the developpers that are reading this post to always install the last version of Acrobat Reader, Acrobat Professionnal, Designer, in order that everything goes well with the product.

    Hi
    1. Deleting a domain will not hold any references. But make sure that under your user_projects/applications also remove the folder that matches with your domain. Basically under user_projects folder you will see 2 folders named applications and domains. When you create a domain say mySoaDomain, it will crate a folder with the same name under applications folder also with few files like em.ear. If you do this, then you can crate a new soa domain and use the same old name.
    2. NOW comes the most important thing. If you create a new SOADomain, at one point, you had to give details for soainfra and mds schemas. If you give your current existing db details (that was used for your old deleted domain), then you may still have the issues. Because the soainfra db may still have the instances for your old process.
    3. If you really want to have a full clean soa domain, here is what you do:
    a) Run rcu and drop the existing schemas for soainfra and mds.
    b) Run rcu again and create above schemas again.
    c) Now create SOADomain using config wizard and refer above clean rcu db and you are all set.
    3. Under your domain root folder, just searh for files named with your workflow and you should see the .jar location.
    Thanks

  • How to remove calendar in ical

    I clicked on a link that added a calendar to my ical which has now synced with my Google calendar and added all the events to it as well.  Unfortunately, I did not realize that this was going to add every single instance (multiple events per day) to all my calendars.
    I'd like to reverse this action but there is not easy way to do this in ical it seems.  I cannot "delete" the calendar because it does not appear in the list of subscribed calendars in ical.
    I subscribed to two calendars this way and I'd like to remove them both.  I also have to now deal with how to remove hundreds of entries in my Google calendar....and it seems there is no batch delete there either unless I pay for a third party program....arrrgh
    If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be most grateful.

    Thanks for your reply.  I "subscribed" to a couple of motorsports calendars in iCal by visiting a direct link on the Apple website like this one: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/calendars/2011motogpworldchampionshipcalen darprovisional_gpticketltd.html
    This adds the events contained in this calendar directly to iCal and I can't for the life of me find a way to "unsubscribe" or eliminate these entries short of erasing them manually one by one.  Unfortunately, there are many of them.
    If you know how I may go about doing this in an efficient manner, please let me know!

  • How to remove the prolog from XML in Oracle?

    Our system works like this:
    1. Pass in a piece of XML to the database as a CLOB
    2. Database converts this to XMLTYPE (stored as a CLOB (you can skip over this, Marco *{;-) ))
    3. An application then reads the XML from the database and inserts it into another bit of XML
    4. The application continues its processing based on this new composite XML.
    Up until now, the XML loaded into the database in step 1 (by various systems) has never contained a prolog. However, a new system has come along and is now passing in a prolog. This causes problems for the application in step 3.
    Aside from trying to get the new system to not pass in the prolog, is there a way to remove it from within Oracle?
    The two solutions I've come up with don't feel elegant:
    1. Use XMLTABLE to extract the main root node (which could be different, depending on which system sent in the data, and could change)
    2. Convert the prolog into a comment, using REPLACE, before converting the CLOB into an XMLTYPE.
    If I was forced to use one of these methods, I'd go with 2, but I really, really hope there's a better way of doing it.
    Has anyone got any other suggestions, please?
    PS. We're currently on 10.2.0.4 and are shortly about to move to 11.2.0.3, but the solution has to work on both versions, for added fun and excitement!

    This is the error the application gives: "Error obtaining Additional Info SAX Exception : No processing instruction starts with 'xml'" which the app dev says is due to the presence of the prolog in the middle of the xml the app has build up.So basically, the app just "pastes" the XML in the middle of another without caring about the structure? What kind of design is that?
    IMO, the app has to be fixed, not the input XML.
    Plenty about how to add the prolog, nothing about how to remove it!You can use XMLQuery function to extract the root element :
    SQL> create table tmp_xml3 of xmltype
      2  xmltype store as basicfile clob;
    Table created
    SQL> insert into tmp_xml3 values (xmltype('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><root/>'));
    1 row inserted
    SQL> select * from tmp_xml3;
    SYS_NC_ROWINFO$
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><root/>
    SQL>
    SQL> select xmlquery('*' passing object_value returning content)
      2  from tmp_xml3;
    XMLQUERY('*'PASSINGOBJECT_VALU
    <root/>

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 - Evil Folders in Reporting Services - What Are They and How to Remove Them

    Hello All,
    There are a lot of sub-folders in the http://CentralSiteSCCM/ReportServer. They are like:
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.0
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.1
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.10
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.100
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.1000
    Only <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN is properly populated with the correct set of the default folders.
    Would you be so kind to advise on:
    What are they?
    How to remove them?
    What to do in order for them not to appear any more?
    Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Mike,
    I ran into an issue when I did the SP1 upgrade where a majority of our reports were duplicated. I created a script to delete these duplicate reports and I've adjusted it to work for your situation. You can find the original thread here, if you're interested:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmanagergeneral/thread/dc9aa3b4-cea9-4a07-87ca-2795a2dbc04e
    You'll need to know your SCCM site code and the server name to run this script.
    # SCCM2012SP1-RemoveDuplicateSSRSFolders.ps1
    # This script will connect to SSRS on a specified server and delete all folders that end with .OLD.*
    # Used for SSRS cleanup after SCCM 2012 SP1 installation
    # Script must be run from an account that has access to modify the SSRS instance

    # Get a listing of all folders in SSRS
    $reportFolders = $ssrs.ListChildren("/", $True)
    # Find all folders containing .OLD.*
    $foldersToDelete = $reportFolders | Where { $_.Name -like "ConfigMgr_" + $SiteCode + ".OLD.*"}
    # Quit if no folders are found
    If ( $foldersToDelete.Count -eq 0 ) { Write-Host "No folders with .OLD.* found. Quitting." ; Exit }
    # Show a listing of the folders that will be deleted
    Write-Host "The following folders will be deleted from SSRS on" $serverName":`n"
    $foldersToDelete.Name
    Write-Host "`nTotal number of folders to delete:" $foldersToDelete.Count "`n"

    If ( $userConfirmation.ToUpper() -ne "Y" ) { Write-Host "Quitting, folders have not been deleted." ; Exit }
    # Delete the folders
    $deletedFolderCount = 0
    Write-Host "Beginning to delete folders now. Please wait."
    ForEach ( $folder in $foldersToDelete ) { $ssrs.DeleteItem($folder.Path) ; $deletedFolderCount++ }
    Write-Host "Folders have been deleted. Total number of deleted folders:" $deletedFolderCount
    Standard disclaimer: While this script worked just fine for me in my environment, I make no guarantees that it will work anywhere else. I've attempted to make this script as user friendly and generic as possible, but it may require slight tweaking to work properly.

  • "Ghost" page numbers on every second page - how to remove?

    Hi,
    I'm setting a short book with Pages and after importing from Word, I'm seeing duplicate, partially hidden additional page numbers on every second page. I'd like to remove them entirely, keeping Pages' page numbering. Removing and inserting page numbers doesn't help and the second set of numbers can't be selected in any way (clicking, dragging don't work). One solution would be to re-import from word, deselecting page numbers beforehand, but I'd rather like avoid this step as I made many changes in Pages.
    Here's a screenshot showing the duplicate page numbers: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3304376/pages_bug.png
    Does anybody have an idea how to remove them?

    Hello,
    Sometimes in the process of importing from Word, page numbers are improperly converted to Master Objects or Background Objects. Go to Format > Advanced > Make Master Objects Selectable. Then, with the cursor in the Margin of the document, press the Command Key (Cursor changes to an Arrow) and drag the cursor diagonally across the page number to select it. Then press the Delete key and the number should be gone. You need to check carefully to make sure that you have eliminated all the instances. There may be one per Section.
