How to remove update notification?

How to remove the update notification as it shown '1' at the top of app store icon? I was asked to update 'facebook' but then it requires my friend's id password instead of mine.. I've signed out all of his data from my iphone, but still can't be updated by my apple id. Help me, i just can't stand with the red dot on the app store icon T_T

If the app was downloaded by your friend's account then only his account will be able to download updates to it - you can delete the app and download it via your own account, and you will then be able to download any future updates to it.

  • How to remove update notification for an unwanted app?

Hi, recently, I got a notification to update an app I never purchased ("Nyan Cat: Lost In Space"). I checked with Apple support services, I searched that app on my hard drive and in my iTunes and App Store history, it doesn't appear anywhere. But it's still standing here in the App Store app update section, with a red badge on the icon, inviting me to update this app that has never installed on any of my drives. It's really annoying, is there something I can do to get rid of that crap?

Thanks for your help Dah•veed. I thought that'd be easier to solve but I'll go to an Apple Store.

  • How to stop update notification for one app (iMovie) that I do not want to update

How to stop update notification for one app (iMovie) that I do not want to update. I do not want iMovie 10 taking up nearly 3 gb on my hard disc. iMovie 9 is just fine and only takes up 1.5 gb. But I get notifications to update and don't know how to turn it off. I've gone into the Purchases tab of the App store and deleted it. I don't want to turn off Update notifications (which is irrelevant in any case because I see no option to do that in Notifications system preference pane). I just don't want to be bugged about iMovie updates. The only option I'm given is to postpone the next reminder until the next morning. -- Franklin

Interesting; never came across that - here is the window I get (just double clicked on a random doc in the trash):

  • How to stop update notifications for specific software updates

NOTE: I apologize in advance for the extreme length of my post & hope that someone will be willing to read it all & then be willing to help... Thanks!
I have been continually getting a Software Update notification for "Migration Assistant Update for Lion" (described "This update provides compatibility for migrating to a Mac running OS X Mavericks.") for quite a while now. IMHO, I consider my Mac knowledge/tech experience level (on a scale of 1-10, where 10 is a Mac Guru) to be about maybe 6 or 7 on average (&von a good day maybe an 8). That's assuming, of course, something like this can be quantified in that way. LOL! ;-) Anywho, I digress... Back to my question... As a general rule I don't immediately jump & install every single new update that comes out for all of my technology/electronics, no matter if Apple or Google tells me to do so. Obviously, I take all notices regarding security seriously & immediately research (unless it's forced upon me) it thoroughly before installing. This is ESPECIALLY true for apps in Apple's app store or Google Play Store, & I read a lot of the user reviews, as well as trusted tech gurus on the Web. Because NOT EVERY update is truly an improvement (mostly b/c of the failure to FULLY test them before releasing, more like unleashing, them to the public...Microsoft has mastered this FUBAR technique to absolute 'perfection', or something like that...haha!) OY, I'm so sorry for continually getting off topic. Okay, seriously now, here's what I want to know:  Is there any way to tell Apple I don't want to install one of their recommended updates & also to stop bugging me about it? I'm specifically referring to the one I mentioned above. Everything I found online about Mavericks made me want to stay VERY FAR AWAY from it. I could be wrong or found bad info, but I don't think so. Please let me know if I'm wrong, because I really want to make the best/most informed decision possible. Thanks!
That being said, today I received notifications about Apple's latest security update (2014-001), plus one for Safari.  I plan to install the security update for sure  & most likely the one for Safari (even though I stopped using it months ago & started using either Chrome, Opera or Firefox - I still haven't picked a fave, but use Chrome 90% of the time... I'm open to suggestions about these apps too...)... But, I don't want to mess with the "Migration Assistant" one.
I would really love some help from my fellow Mac users... I apologize for being long winded & will try to reign in that nagging writing flaw in future posts. Also, I apologize if I've missed something that's totally obvious & easily found on this or other forums/sites, but I really did try to find an answer before posting my question here...
Thanks Mucho to all of you who were able to read through my mini-novel (& not fall asleep in the process) & actually found my question at the end!! I would like to say "THANK YOU!!" in advance for any & all help y'all are willing to provide!!! :-D
Hope you have a FANTABULOUS day! (^_-) Sincerely, Care ;-)

Wow, now that I see how extremely long my post is on screen, I'm a wee bit embarrassed... I'm hoping someone will be willing to overlook this annoying factor & provide a suggestion... :-/ Signed w/shame, Care :-/

  • How to unmark update notification in App Store?

I would like to unmark the update notification in App Store. Is that possible?
I have the app TO DO, but if I update it I will loose the possibility to sync Outlook it with Appigo sync. It´s so easy in the moment to press "update all" or even press update for TO DO, and not thinking in the moment...If I do that it´s bye bye for ever since Appigo will no longer develop.
Can I make TO DO not appear as a update option?
    /Ulrika

Yes, I am with KJ, I have no real idea what you are asking about. The app store does not usually have email involved with it.

  • How to remove updates from app store in yosemite

I'm using iWork '09 installed on Yosemite and i receive the alert to update to the new version Keynote, Pages and Number.
Apparently there is no way to remove/dismiss the update's reminder forever or just delete the update request in the App Store list.
    Any advice?
    Thanks.

YYou know, I just was looking for an answer from a person with knowledge but instead I got nothing. I just wanted an answer, how do I remove an update from the App Store that I don't wish to install, that's all. I wasn't expected these responses, thanks anyway,, I'm going to try no to ask again within the community, I'll go instead to the web, I might get an straight answer.. Please no response again, I'll try to delete this question.
I have given you an answer twice: you can't do that. The only way to remove an app from the list of updates in the App Store is to accept the update.

  • How to remove update history

I know how to stop the automatic updates but how do I remove or hide the history of every update?
    I.E "updated 23 October 2013", "updated 29 September 2013"
    Please help

    Hey,
What update history do you mean?
Do you mean the Windows update history?
In your case I wouldnt delete it because in my opinion its important to know what updates are installed if an update causes a problem for example.
I wouldnt delete, thats my personal opinion

  • How to remove update manager from vcenter applicance

Long story, but, where update manager had been installed had to be rebuilt.  I am now wanting to remove traces of it.  When I look in vcenter it still looks as though it is queuing requests to look for udpates.  How to stop vcenter from using update manager?
Thanks in advance... this is driving me crazy, I've spent a huge part of my day dealing with this.... thanks again..

For those who are interested, I resolved this by deleting the scheduled task in the vcenter web client.

  • How to remove update

I keep getting the notice that there is a printer update ready from the app store.
I don't want this update. How can I put this update alert on hold without stopping other update alerts that I may want to install?

I did see those options. But, it would be helpful to put items you don't want on hold and not get repeating alerts.
    Thanks.

  • How to remove voicemail notification

i cannot remove voice mail notification from lumia 620. still there is no voice mail and operator told that is problem with your handset.
    thanks

This most definately is an operator issue as the icon would normaly go away once you have listend to any voicemail messages. Normally it should go away if you switch to flight mode and back as this would reset the connection and registration of the SIM.

  • Update for keynote will not install...how to remove update or ignore?

How can I ignore an update for Keynote that will not install? I also have an update for my printer that I have installed 4 times but it still shows as needing to be installed?

Try hiding the Keynote app in the Trash where the Mac App Store can't see it. Then try to redownload it from your Purchases list. You should get the most recent version available.
