How to reorder photos in folders based on capture date

I have scanned a bunch of photographs and imported them into lightroom. I then went and changed all the capture dates to represent when the photos were actually taken. Now I would like to put the photo's in a folder structure based on the capture date (as all my other photo's are). How is it best to do this?
Thanks,

Well, if you are going to re-import them, then you really don't need to export them first in original format.
I mean, assuming you checked the box which allows Lr to write to the raws when you changed capture time, then you should be able to simply delete (remove) from existing catalog, then re-import in preferred structure. If you did NOT allow Lr to update the raws (and so capture time would be lost when re-importing), then we need to talk (and I don't think exporting in original format will preserve capture time in that case either).
Backup everything first...

  • How to keep photos in folders when removing from iOS?

I usually use Preview on Mac to import photos and delete them from the iPad. I've started putting photos in folders but this organization is not maintained on import. Is there a way to maintain this when importing? Or even better: is there a way to leave certain folders on the iPad and import/delete the rest?
Of the photos that have been imported, is the folder data maintained somewhere so I can reorganize them? Maybe I need to find a better method of importing & deleting.

iPhoto, Image Capture, Aperture...but I have never heard of using Preview to import photos to the Mac.
Folders/albums that you create in the Photos App on the iPad are for local organization on the device itself and will not import to your Mac. These folders/albums do not contain copies of the photos, but merely use pointers to the photos to make the pictures appear in these local albums. If you create new albums in the photos app and try to remove the photos from the camera roll, they will be removed from the folders as well.

  • How to store photos in folders on iPad 2

looking for the best way to sync photos to the iPad 2 without loosing the folder structure.

You can sync separate folders from your computer, and each folder should get it's own album on the iPad - you need to sync all the folders that you want in one go (so they will need to be directly off the same parent folder), as only the contents of the most recent photo sync remain on the iPad (not including a folder in a sync is how you delete that folder/album from the iPad). More general info on photo syncing here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236 . You can't have sub-folders/albums on the iPad. If you have a Mac then you sync photo albums/events/faces via iPhoto or Aperture
With iOS 5 in the Autumn you should (assuming that it makes it in the final release) be able to move photos between albums directly on the iPad.

  • How to reorder photos in iPad2

I have managed to import photos into my ipad2 but the order in the album is not correct. How do I reorder the photos so that they come as I want to show a slideshow?

I have found a way to get photos into my iPad2 using an SD card and a card reader for the iPad. It seems as if the photos have to have 8 characters with no gaps (except the underscore _ ) and are put into a folder on the card named DCIM. With the order OK they can be imported into the iPad2 and put into their own album and the order is maintained (for now at least).
I cannot fathom out iTunes as every time I sync some more photos it deletes the last lot! I shall try to avoid iTunes in the future until someone can tell me why it is so illogical.

  • How to import photos into Folders or Albums from backuped CD-R

    I need you advice.
I made folders of photos in CD-R when I backuped. I would like to import them into each folders and album I made in i photo newly from the folders on CD-R. Even though I select "Add library" under "File" and drag& drop and copy from Finder window/ CD-R window, all are just imported into Library.
    Many thanks,
    Mac

    Hi Mac Ito,
Here is something I typed out a couple of days ago for a response to another person. It might help you also.
Importing Images from the hard drive, CD, or DVD
To import a folder with subfolders of images maintaining the same organizational structure (or close to it):
Drag the folder into iPhotos viewing area.
A film roll will be created with each sub folders name. To view the rolls in the Library you need to first go to the menu bar and choose View>by film rolls.
To make each roll into an Album, highlight the tile of the roll
Go to File>new album from selection.
You will now have an Album in the source column with the images from that roll. Do this for each roll if you want them to be an Album. This is your choice.
Next, go to the menu bar and hit File>new folder
Name this new folder with the year or whatever the name was of the Parent folder containing the subfolders that you had dragged into iPhotos viewing area.
Next drag all the Albums into the respective new Parent folder you just made.
Albums- collection of images from one roll or many rolls. The Albums will be listed in your source column when you make them. The albums only contain placeholders for the images that are still in the library. They are not duplicates.
Rolls- rolls are created when you import folder of images. It will be given the name of the folder you are importing.
Rolls are also created from each import from your camera. You are given the option to name the roll at import.
Folder-a folder you create manually using the File>new folder command
Folders can hold Albums, slideshows, books, another folder, etc.
    Hope this helps!
    Lori

  • How to find photos with no original or digitized date?

I have probably 500-1000 photos that have neither Original or Digitized Date info. They are scattered all throughout my iPhoto library (30,000). They do have Modified and Imported Dates; but of course, not only do those dates differ (sometimes substantially) from when the photo was taken, iPhoto seems to use the Modified Date for sorting purposes if the Original Date isn't there. That means these "dateless" photos are way out of sequence when View, Sort Photos is set to By Date.
What I need is some way to easily find these photos. I can't set the date search feature to a "null" value, nor can I create a smart album that filters for a null date value. If I slowly scroll through all my photos and watch the numbers carefully, I can usually see which photos have no Original Date because they're out of sequence, but with 30,000 photos, that's going to take forever.
Does anyone know any tricks or third-party software for this?
    Thanks!

If a file doesn't have an EXIF date then the file created/modified date is used by iPhoto. Files that have been scanned or optimized for web use fall into that category.
The demo version ofMedia Expression can catalog an iPhoto library and then with a search for Date is after 1/1/84 you will find all files with an EXIF date. After applying a label to all found you can display all files without a label which would be your files. How you would then identify those so that they can be found in iPhoto I don't know. Any keywords you might add or other metadata would not be recognized by iPhoto unless they were reimported. If you are interested in trying that post back and I can give you a workflow. It would involve creating a new library and importing the Originals folder of the old library after you run Expression Media on it to embed the keywords (those from iPhoto and those you add to the dateless files), titles and comments to the files. It can be done but might be a bit involved.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How to divide the SQL resultset  based on the data as scenarios?

    Hi,
I need to develop a query which needs to be divided into scenarios
    Ex:
Scenario 1: If a product is sold in US and billed in UK
Scenario 2: If a product is sold in UK and billed in US
Scenario 3: If a product is sold and billed in US
Scenario 4: If a product is sold and billed in UK
Based on 1 SQL result how can I divide and provide users based on the scenarios?
Ex: Result should display all the data saying this result set is under scenario 1 etc.,
    Please advice
    Thanks,
    user12048986

    Hi,
You can use a CASE expression to categorize each row:
    CASE  sold_country || ' ' || billed_country
         WHEN  'US UK'     THEN  1
         WHEN  'UK US'     THEN  2
         WHEN  'US US'     THEN  3
         WHEN  'UK UK'     THEN  4
END     AS scenario_numIf either sold_country or billed_country is anything except 'UK' or 'US', then the expression above returns NULL.
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only), and the results you want from that data.

  • How to update open PO price based on Price date category in contract?

I've created a contract/ outline agreement with Price date category as '2'- Delivery date. (Path is Item details> More Functions> Additional Data). This means that PO price should be determined based on its delivery date.
In contract, there are two date ranges for conditions. PO creation and delivery date falls under different ranges. Now, the open PO price is getting updated based on PO creation date but not on delivery date. We have tried using MASS transaction for this.
    Can someone suggest any solution?

The Price Date category field was visible in contract  but not in our PO. Due to this, MEMASSPO was not updating the field value and we were changing the value to '2' manually by debugger. Hence some table updates were missing and causing the whole issue.
The solution is to change the screen layout for PO. If Price date cat field is hidden, then you need to make it optional entry in SPRO- Purchase Order - Define screen layout at document level--> Quantity and Price for ME21N , ME22, ME22N and for field selection key assigned to PO document type.
This field will be available in ME22N- Condition Control TAB.

  • How to Configure TAB style reports based on specific Data?

    Hi All,
I am new to Business Objects.
I have an existing BO report and configured to display certain specific data in TAB sheets based on a kind of rule.
Where is this exactly Configured in Desktop Intelligence? I need to modify this to add new TAB's as well as change some of the existing ones.
I am being able to Run my UNIVERSE properly and retrieving all the required data (let's say I am getting 10 different Products, I need to display the associated data of specific Products on Seperate TAB sheets and some others in One TAB) but now my report displayed only part of the data (some of the products).
    Your help is much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Baz

    Hi Sneha,
The only logic, i guess, that could be used is either defining the join fields or some restriction put in the selection conditions tab of the view. for e.g. if the view should only return Doc type XYZ, the same could be implemented in selection conditions tab. for transaction to check the view, it was already posted above.

  • Reorder photos in album

Does anyone know how to reorder photos in an album in iPhoto for iOS?

iPhoto does not allow reordering of the photos in the albums, sorry. Sync them to iPhoto in the correct order (see:  Re: How to reorder photos in iPad2). You may display selected images together when editing, but that's it, see Compare photos
Only in a special album, journals, you are free to arrange the photos in the order you want. Perhaps you may want to create journals from your photos to present them in a specific order:
See: iPhoto help: , the section: Create and share journals

  • C3-01 - Moving Photos Between Folders On SD Memory...

I’m stumped on how to move photos between folders on the SD memory card in my new C3-01.
When I take a photo, it saves it to the ‘Images’ folder on the SD card, but there doesn’t appear to be an easy way to get it from that folder onto one of my other folders.
On my previous phone, I’d do the following –
    1 – Open the item
    2 – Go to ‘Options’
3 – Scroll down to ‘Move’
4 – When the list of available options was displayed, I’d highlight the ‘Memory card’, and press Options’ again to get an ‘Open folder’ option.
5 – Select the ‘Open folder’ option.
6 – Scroll down to the folder I wanted to put the photo in to.
However, on my C3-01, once I get to option 4 above, there don’t appear to be any other options available. I now have a situation where I’ve moved items from my Images folder on my memory card but can’t put them into any sub-folders.
Is this function no longer available? If so, it does seem a bit unusual.
    Hope someone can help.
    Many thanks

  • How to List Sales Orders based on Creation Date and Delivery Priority

    Dear all,
How can we list Sales Orders based on creation date and delivery priority.
I tried using vl10a transaction code, but there we can see sales order based on delivery date.
we need to list all sales order based on delivery priority and sales order creation date.
can any one of you tell me which standard report gives such kind of report. Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Raghu Ram

    Hi Raghu,
There is no st report available as per your req.
Using SQVI, you develope one report that is list of sales orders based on your req.
SQVI is used to convert a Quick View into a query.
    Quick Viewer:
The Quick Viewer allows you to define reports without having to program yourself. The Quick
Viewer is especially useful for new users and occasional use.
Quick Viewer is a tool for generating reports. SAP Query offers the user a whole range of options for defining reports. SAP Query also supports different kinds of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists. Quick Viewer, on the other hand, is a tool that allows even relatively inexperienced users to create basic lists.
Quick View definitions are user-dependent. You can transfer a Quick View into SAP Query in order to make reports, for example, accessible to additional users, or to use the other functions available in SAP Query.
The following is a comparison of Quick Views and queries:
Quick Views possess the same functional attributes as queries. However, only basic lists may be defined with Quick Views.
In contrast to queries, no user group assignment is necessary with Quick Views. Each user has his/her own personal list of Quick Views. Quick Views cannot be exchanged between users. Quick Views may, however, be converted to queries and then be made available to other users in a specific user group.
Info Sets are not required for Quick View definition. Whenever you define a Quick View, you can specify its data source explicitly. Tables, database views, table joins, logical databases, and even Info Sets, can all serve as data sources for a Quick View. You can only use additional tables and additional fields if you use an Info Set as a data source.
The Quick Viewer uses various controls. Certain hardware and software requirements must also be fulfilled before you can use the Quick Viewer.
To define a Quick View, you select certain fields according to your data source that determine the structure of your report. The report can be executed in basis mode with standard layout or may be edited using drag and drop and the other toolbox functions available in WYSIWYG mode.
Reports created using the Quick Viewer may also be passed to external programs (Excel, for example).
Call the Quick Viewer using System -> Services -> Quick Viewer (or transaction SQVI).
Enter the name of the Quick View. Quick View names can contain a maximum of 14 characters.
    Choose Create.
Enter a title for the Quick View and remarks, if you think they are relevant.
If you do not want to base your list on a table, use the possible entries pushbutton in the Data source field to select another data source. You can choose logical databases or Info Sets. In addition, you may also create table joins. For further information, see Selecting a Data Source.
Choose Basis mode if you want to create the list directly with no list design. Choose Layout mode if you want to define the layout of your list yourself.
SQVI Table Quick viewer – Used to created quick client dependent reports
Probably the easiest and most flexible way to do this is thru one of the ABAP query transactions.
Transaction SQVI can do this and it has a very good help function that explains how it works... the drawback is that it is only for one user.
You can play around with it and see if it meets your needs...
The query results will come back in an ALV Grid or Excel... you can select what fields are returned, and have a selection screen to enter the search criteria.
You can get the report by joining the tables VBAK and VBAP.
If you have any queries, i will forward screen shots to your id.
    Reward points pls.
    Regards,
    Govind.
