How to retain selected multi select facet  on frontend

Hello,
We are having some multi-select dimensions on our site. As per default behavior of endeca, whenever a multi-select facet is selected from left navigation it is not again returned in the endeca navigation response. Because of this behavior we are not able to retain this selected facet in faceted navigation. Is there any way in endeca to retain this selected facet which user an also un-select later.

As I understand, and it is a common UX approach, you wish to show the selected refinement in place with the other available refinements. What you are are really doing here is combining navigation and breadcrumbs in the same user control, Seans method is correct you just need to remember to deal with un selecting it as well and add in line the description value with the refinements.

my default is coming from on table and the rest from another reference table with for all the drop downs.

Thanks.  I sorted it out after a while.  The problem that I was having is that Pages seemed to treat the copied and pasted webpage content almost like an image: indivisible.  I had to go back to the page and copy a few pages at a time.  Then I could paste the content in one page after another.

  • How to Pass a multi-select parameter in BI to a PL/SQL Program

I am trying to pass a BI report parameter which is multi-select enabled in BI Enterprise Stand-Alone reporting tool. eg. it comes out in the data model like this: <P_CLASS_CODE>[DISABLED_VETERAN_OWNED, HUB_ZONE, LARGE_BUSINESS]</P_CLASS_CODE>
to a pl/sql stored procedure. (this is some kind of record set)
This works when passing the parameter as bind variable being passed to and IN CLAUSE. However, In my case I need a little bit more flexibilty with the programming so I need to get the value into PL/SQL so I can work with the individual values in the record set.
I am trying to figure out which collection type or record type I can use in pl/sql to be able to parse out the elements in the collection from within a stored procedure so I can loop through the elements.
I am trying to call the BI before report trigger in the data template like this:
    <dataTrigger name="beforeReportTrigger" source="XXAPRPT03_SUPPLIER_DIVERSITY.before_report_trigger(:p_class_code)"/>
this call refers to the default package
I get this error: 'Invalid column type'
what type should I be using in my procedure definition to support the multi-selection record set which my parameter is passing from BI.

  • On button click of Infopath forms select multi select list box values...

    Hi,
We have multi select list box on one of the info path forms. We have placed on button on this form. If user clicks on this button we want to select some of the values in Multi select list box (check box).
Is it possible if yes how can we achieve it?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Amit Chhatbar

    Hi Amit,
From your description, you would like to check items in a multi-selection box when a button is clicked.
I’d recommend you make use of rules in InfoPath form, i.e. when button is clicked, then set a field’s value.
However, if you are using multi-selection box, then you could only set the value of one item at a time. If you want to select several items at once, then we could use code. For more information:
    http://www.bizsupportonline.net/blog/2009/07/understanding-multiple-selection-list-box-infopath/
    http://www.bizsupportonline.net/infopath2007/programmatically-select-all-items-multi-select-list-box.htm
If you are using several check boxes to replace multi-selection box, then it will be more easy. The rule could be that when this button is clicked, set a field’s value (check box field) to true and repeat it.

  • How to default a multi-select parameter to ALL values?

I have a parameter that allows the user to select multiple values.  I want it to default to use ALL values (meaning basically just ignore this parameter in the SQL generated).  However, I cannot create a calculation on this since it accepts multiple values, and the calculation only supports the first value.  Is there a way to do what I need, without selecting all the values in the list (the LOV contains hundreds and hundreds of values so this is not a viable option).  I am not very experienced with Discoverer and don't know all the tricks/workarounds, so looking for expert advice.
    Thanks

    Hello
You would have to code the parameter and condition so that it accepts the word ALL.
For example, let's say you are working with ITEM_NUMBER and you have thousands of items. You want the user to either be able to key one or more items or access ALL items.
You need to create a Boolean condition like this:
    ITEM_NUMBER IN :ITEM_PARAMETER
    OR
    UPPER(:ITEM_PARAMETER) = 'ALL'
So if the user keys the word ALL or all or All or any variant of the word that will be determined as true by the condition and all items will be selected. If the user does not key ALL then the other half of the condition will be applied and the Item must be a valid item as contained in the list of all items. You can even create your parameter with a default of ALL
    Best wishes

  • Multi-select prompt

    Hi All
I created a Dashboard prompt and I select Multi-select control.
When I previw the results all the values are apprearing in one single line.
like 101102103104 etc.....Also the values has hyperlink, so if I click 101 then I am getting just 101 as selected.
Can you please let me know how can I change that so that I can see each value in different line like
    101
    102
    etc..
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I'm looking for the same. Could you please provide the steps to how to create this prompt and then how to pass the value from the prompt to the Physical layer?
In the Physical layer I'm fetching the data using a MSSQL stored procedure which is accepting some input parameter, so what I'm trying to do is to pass the value from the prompt to the variable (which is passed as an input to the MSSQL stored procedure)
Please let me know how to do this.
    Thanks,
    Mithun

  • How  to get the value of multi-select in the   Dashboard Prompt

I have a multi-select prompt in the Dashboard Prompt,  what I want is,   how do I know that user has choose one value,
for examle,  for some reasons,  if user didn't choose any value,  then I will set one column in answer as "customer office" , if user choose one value, then the column in answer will be "customer name".
    any comments, thanks.

    Hi,
first define the presentation variable for the required column prompt. ex: PV
Then in report level set the filter for that column = @{PV}{customer office}. here u have to give default value as "customer office", so by default the report in dashboard will show customer office even though the user does not select any value from dashboard prompt.
    Mark If Helpful/correct.
    Thanks.

  • How to use multi select in a query report

I defined a lov. This lov retuns name and a id. I want to use the result of this multi select in my query.
I always get invalid number when I choose two items of the select. When I debug I see that the return value of the multi select is 1:2. How can I change the seperator : in , I tried the following but this does't work.
if :P26_PRODUCTTYPE IS NOT NULL then
    l_sql := l_sql ||' and producttype in
    (REPLACE(:p26_producttype,'':'','','' ))';
    end if;

as you're finding, multiple values selected from html db multi-select list items (and checkboxes) are stored as a single, colon-delimited string. i explained an easy way to handle this via pl/sql in...
    Multiple select list
...that post shows you how to throw the selected values into a pl/sql table and step through them as needed. it also showed how to use an instr to parse through the string if you want to go that route. you could use that same instr logic right in your sql query. so let's say your lov for your multi-select item (P1_MY_MULTISELECT, we'll call it) was defined as...
select ename, empno from emp order by 1
...and your user selected KING, FORD, and JONES. :P1_MY_MULTISELECT would store those values as...
    7839:7902:7566
...you could then write a query to return the selected enames with something like...
    select ename, job
    from emp
    where insrt (':'||:P1_MY_MULTISELECT||':',':'||empno||':') != 0
    ...hope this helps,

    Hi,
As you are tracking changes in ALV data you must define a event handler for ALV evenr ONDATA_CHECK.
On defining an event handler you will be getting a structure called t_param.
It contains an element called t_deleted rows.
See this code to have an idea.
    method ONDATACHECK .
DATA: x_delete_row LIKE LINE OF r_param->t_deleted_rows.

  • How To hide a column on a Matrix using a parameter that is set-up as a multi-select

    Hi,
I have a multi-select parameter (has 4 choices ie. A,B,C,D).  In the matrix the parent Column group is a date and the child group is based on the Multi-select parameter field.  When all choices are selected the report returns a column per
date and then within that date column 4 sub columns as expected.....This all works.
Challenge ... I added another column (Col5).  For Col5 I only want it to show if value B has been selected from the multi choice
Another way of saying it....  How do I get a column to appear (Visibility) if a specific  Value has been select in a multi-choice parameter

  • How to un-check everything in a Multi-selection list box in SP2013?

When a radio button is selected/un-selected, i would like to clear all the checkboxes that were checked in a MSLB.  I created a rule for the condition but in the action, how to create this uncheck action?
    Thank you

yes, that's what I've done but still not working.  I even downloaded the sp,
    InfoPath 2013 (KB2837648) 32-Bit Edition
and it still doesn't work.  In the screen shot attached, ml prefix is for Multi-selection list box.  So, in mlImprovement, if the Communication checkbox isn't checked then set the Multi-selection list box, Communicaiton, to blank so it should
    show no selection.
In the preview of Infopath 2013, I would check Communication in mlImprovement and then check a couple of checkboxes in mlCommunicaiton.  I then uncheck and check Communicaiton in mlImprovement and those previously checked checkboxes remains.
I have been very frstrated working the MLSB infopath 2013.  there are other issues that does't work either.  Please advise if I'm missing a step here and there, thank you.

  • How  to Create Multi select  Popup LOV

    Hi,
I have a requirment in my application like Below scenario.
I created one page like compose mail. In that i have used popup lov for selecting the user.
But the problem is, it is allowing only one user to be select. In my case i want to select multiple users to send the
    mail.
    Please help me.
    NR

    Hi,
How many users do you have in total? If it is a small number (a few dozen) you could use a multi select list or a shuttle item.
However if there are hundreds of users to choose from, you may need to write your own pop up LOV to select them (probably using an Apex collection to store the temporary list).
Or if you are really cool you could do something web 2.0-style using ajax (like those boxes in facebook where you just type the names of the persons and it shows a autocomplete list).
