How to reuse UI elements in view design

Hello
How can I reuse UI elements when designing a view?
For example: I built a UI container (TransparentContainer) consisting of a FormattedTextEdit, some buttons and other UI Elements. This container will be used in several views and even several times inside the same view.
The solution which I use at the moment is to copy/paste this UI container. But this is a bad solution, because if something in the container has to be changed, it is very cumbersome to adapt also all copied instances.
I also tried to put my UI container into a separate view and than to reuse this view in other views by means of the ViewContainerUIElement. But this does not work if the UI container has to be placed more than once inside a view, as duplicate usage of a view raises a WDRuntimeException.
What is the best way do reuse several UI Elements in desinging a view?

Is there any solution to solve this problem for the "Tabstrip"?
Thus, let's say I have a "Tabstrip" with 10 "Tabs". All the tabs have the same UI elements only the data of the UI Elements changes among the tabs. Do I really have to copy my UI elements 10 times?
Of course, another solution would be to "simulate" the Tabstrip with some radio-buttons and one container that shows the content of the selected tab/radiobutton.

The issue is still opened because, all the answers solved the problem partially,
Presently I am using matrix layout for all the Groups in a vew and setting the vgutter and cell design property of the Layout Data(Matrix data), I have two labels & input field/dropdown in each row, and I want to allign them.
My requirement is like..each row has 4 UI Elements(max) or 2 UI elements(min) and now I wan to allign them such that the over all view will look like there is four column and in each column the UI elements are verticlly alligned .
Once , I managed to allign them, but the allignment is getting affected by the resolution and the width of the screen.
How to maintain uniform allignment, irrespective of screen width/resolution?
Also I used a table in one of my view and the Column Header of each column is coming from OTR Text, I need to put Line break in Column Header other wise for long Column Header the width of the columns are getting increased and overall width of the table is also getting affected for this.

Hi Alvert,
one thing I have noticed in the existing tutorials, that is some tips on the layout containers. Introduction on different type of layout, how to match spacing of two layout container in the same view, meaning of different properties of diff layouts. I have seen normally if I add two containers, the spacing between one's element is different from the other. It causes problem for the total view lookup.
Will let you know again, whenever something comes into mind.

Design View is not available in Fluid Grid Layouts. You need to use Code View / Live View to edit. And they're are numerous problems with it. See related discussion.
Is there any way to display the Design View in fluid grid pages?

How to get the amazon book list design with the RowRepeater

at the moment I am programming a small book management application. After the fight with the row repeater (that at least was a bug in the rowrepeater) I would like to have a desing like the amazon-list:

- How can I use the Image with the url to the image.

With image you cannot have URL. You have use Image UI element and you can place an linktourl element below the image.

For links, you are right . You have to use LinkToAction UI element. On the Action of Link , you can get the value selected by reading the attribute binded to that link.
How can I get the design with 2 cols and for the text new lines
For columns , you have to use Table UI element.
For designing you view according to the requirements , you can use various UI elements :
Tray , Group , Transparent containers. These would help you in making specific containers or grouping particular set of elements together.

I have followed instructions as follows: In Lightroom I have installed Elements under extra plug inns. (on top of the screen reference is made to Photoshop and not Photoshop 11). Under photo, cmd-e does not work since Photoshop is colored gray. As I have Elements installed under extra plug-inns this is highlighted. BUT………..Clicking that, the picture selected does NOT appear in Elements. The screen remains being empty! How can I solve this?

How do I move Elements 8 projects (slide shows) from a Windows XP computer to new Windows 7 computer that also has Elements 8 on it so that the slides shows will work (Elements 8 works well on the Windows 7 computer & I have done several new slide show projects on it)? I tried backup & restore without success. I have also found the .psess files and copied them to the catalog in the new computer but when the sides shows are opened none of the images or music is there. Only the text that I entered shows. I have even tried to replicate the file paths from the XP computer to the new computer to see if that will help.

UPDATE: By a stroke of luck I happened to find a catalog link (a PSE8D file) in the 'My Catalog' file where the imported data was stored. When I clicked on it to investigate what is was 'magically' all of my transferred projects appeared in Organizer. Upon further investigation I found that the projects transferred from my XP computer were stored in a hidden catalog that had to be accessed through the Custom Location option in Catalog Manager (accessed by clicking File then Catalog then Custom Location). No Windows or Elements search revealed this fact. I am appreciative that I just got lucky. The Adode/Photoshop company was absolutely of no help. If fact to me their structure is designed to avoid contact with their customers unless you're buying a new product. Their products have many good features (even though user unfriendly) and it's a shame they don't value their customers more once the sale is completed.
Bottom line: All of the projects (sideshows) have been recovered and work in my new Windows 7 computer. I hope my experience helps others.

Unfortunately, there is no answer to this problem via this link. It may be that this is simply how the software actually works. It is a design fault in Adobe Photoshop Elements. It is possible to temporarily hide the dock within 'system preferences'. Oh well. Someone may know better.... I hope!

Window vs view - how can i jump to a view which was previously created?

how can i jump to a view previously created without the push or pop to view function?
I have a UITabBarController with several view(s) (controllers)* and in one of my views i am using a navigation controller which pushes to various views. At the end, i would like to have a button, where the user can go back to its initial view (when the application is starting) i guess, that it has something to do with the rootview Controller.. the problem is: i dont have a root view controller because i am working with the TabBar example from apple, which is using the IB.

You know what, about 30 seconds ago I figured out what I did. I set the Quiz preferences to “Required to pass before continuing” instead of “Required to take quiz”.
I am sure Action Script is the wrong term (I’ve only used Captivate for 2 weeks). I applied an Advanced action to skip over the knowledge checks. I got the tutorial from this link:

How to display UI elements dynamically on the click of a radiobutton

hi all,
I have created two radio buttons rb1, rb2 dynamically. If i click on rb1, ......
one label, one inputfield (ie., some UI elements ) must be displayed in the same view & if i click on rb2, other UI elements must display.
can anyone tell how to display UI elements which were created dynamically on the click of a radio button.

1. Create a context attribute name visible1 of type type com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Visibility(using brose button in the type property of context)
2. Bind this context to all tha elements of that you want to make visible when radio button 1 is clicked to their visibility property.
3. Create a context attribute name visible2 of type com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Visibility(using brose button in the type property of context)
4. Bind this context to all tha elements of that you want to make visible when radio button 2 is clicked to their visibility property.
5. Create actions for both radio button1 say action1 and for radio button2 say action2.
6. In action1 write this line of code
wdContext.currentContextElement.setVisible1(WDVisibility.VISIBLE);
wdContext.currentContextElement.setVisible2(WDVisibility.BLANK);
7. In action2 write this line of code
wdContext.currentContextElement.setVisible2(WDVisibility.VISIBLE);
wdContext.currentContextElement.setVisible1(WDVisibility.BLANK);

Are you saying that you want to see the menu screen when you launch the program?
If so, go to the Help menu and select Welcome Screen. When the Welcome Screen launches, click on the gear in the upper right corner and set Always Start On to Welcome Screen.
Or are you asking how to start the program from the Welcome Screen?

how to remove photoshop elements 3 from being the default program to open photos in iMac 10.6.8; want to use Preview 5.0.3 as before. Somehow I clicked an "ok" to a question asking if I wanted photoshop e 3 to be the default program (NOOOO - too slow, too cumbersome just for viewing pix) What was I thinking????
