How to right align a read only numeric field in a panel form layout

Hi, does anyone know how to right align a read only numeric field in a panel form layout? I am using: Style Class = AFFieldNumberMarker, but it only seems to work if the field is disabled. Disabling the field gives it a difference appearance that does not look right on our forms. These are calculated fields, which cannot be modified, so read only is necessary.
I have looked online for some answers, and it seems that others are having similar issues.
I have tried different combinations for the properties, but so far I cannot get it to work.

You have to use custom JavScripting to concatenate the first 2 fields. You cannot use the first 2 calculation options because they force the values of the fields to a numeric value or ignore string values.
Possible scripts for the 3rd field are:
event.value = this.getField("Text1").valueAsString + " " + this.getField("Text2").valueAsString;
or
event.value = this.getField("Text1").valueAsString.concat( " ", this.getField("Text2").valueAsString);
If you do not want change the separator or not show the separator when on or the other field is empty, you will need to add more code to adjust for change.
The above scripts will also concatenate number because the field values are read as strings and not numbers.
There is also a generalized user written function to concatenate up to 3 fields with a separator that adjust for missing data.

How to populate read only input field or text view form value help only

User cant put any value there.value comes only from the value help.

Yes it is possible.
1.Create a context Attribute and then bind this attribute to the Text view UI element.
2. read context attribute and then set value to the context attribute like this way.
DATA:
    elem_context1                        TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,

    item_potxt                          LIKE stru_context-potxt.
get element via lead selection
elem_context1 = wd_context->get_element( ).

How to make a page READ ONLY / all fields are DISABLED ?

Hi all,
I am using ONE page to do ADD/EDIT/DISPLAY data. When users are in DISPLAY mode, I want all fields on the page to be read only / disabled.
How is the best approach to do that ?
(other than going to every fields and set the ReadOnly/Disabled property)

My business logic is somewhat different - I don't do this for new/editted rows, but based upon other security. You could certainly set something in your backing bean based upon a user clicking "new" or "edit"

I have a prepop plugin for one of the field which generates a number from an oracle sequence, i don't want requesters to modify it, so I would like to either hide it or make it read only.
Also, can i put some label/help text to put in some instructions?

I have 2 drop-down lists... "Department" and "SubDepartment"
The selection in DDlist "Department" spawns a unique list in DDlist "SubDepartment"
I select the proper items from both DDlists.
When I do this, I want read-only text field "NameOnIDBadge" to be populated with a pre-defined entry.
Example:
In "Department" DDlist, select item "Finance & Administration"
In "SubDepartment" DDlist, select item "Food Service" from the list that appears
THEN:
In read-only text field "NameOnIDBadge" the following predefined read-only text appears: "Contract Food Serv."
(Thanks to Paul, I already know how to make the selection in DDlist "Department" affect the selection list in DDlist "SubDepartment"
but I don't know how to make the selection of both DDlists create a new pre-defined entry in a text field.)
I have attached a mockup of the file I am working with...

I tried that but a few things went wrong.
1. After I select "Food Service" in the second "SubDepartment" DDlist, a Javascript error message pops up (see attached), and I have to click it to make it go away. Then the text "Contract Food Serv" appears in the text box.
2. If I select a different value in the Department DDlist, the rawtext still remains in place... it should clear out.
3. The raw text seems to be based on the selection of the SubDepartment DDlist only. However, I need specific raw text to be generated based on the combination of BOTH DDlists.   (It could happen that a totally different Department DDlist could have the same item in its corresponding SubDepartment DDlist. In that case, the rawtext would be completely different.)
Correct example:
Department DDlist = Finance & Administration
SubDepartment DDlist = Food Service
NameOnIDBadge = Contract Food Serv <-- CORRECT
Incorrect example:
Department DDlist = Clinical Services
SubDepartment DDlist = Food Service
NameOnIDBadge = Contract Food Serv   <-- INCORRECT   (it might be something else)

I just tried it, and was able to convert a Word .doc to to PDF, in spite of the fact that it was marked Read Only. Here are the instructions for uploading and converting to PDF with Acrobat.com:

I think you should get together with the other engineers there at NI. I spoke to one on the phone yesterday and he told me that the read-only aspect relates to writing between the database and PLC. I'm trying to write to the database and he told me that I could do it.

OVS on read-only input field

OVS will not allow me to change the value of a read-only input field. If the input field is set to read-only, the OVS selection table does not display an 'OK' button, only close.
Value cannot be copied (field is not editable)
I do not want the field to be editable on the screen, but only allow input via the selected row in the OVS. Any suggestions?

Using Dictionary Search Help and OVS in this case will disable the Copy button and you don't have any control.

I am a very amateur (i.e. occasional) web site developer using Dreamweaver CS3 and would be very grateful for any advice on the following.
Several years ago I put together a very simple one page web site using HTML 4.01 transitional and consisting of a single table (width=100%) with several rows. This web site is number one in Google for it's keywords, takes lots of hits every week and because of it's simplicity and the version of HTML used displays well in most web browsers.
The top row of the main table contains a logo which is displayed left-aligned. The web site owner has given in three more images which he would like to go in to the same row but right-aligned. Could anyone point me to info on how to do implement this very simply, preferrably without CSS (although I have a feeling I will probably have to use CSS in the end).

Of course that would affect all the <td> tags throughout your document or your site, depending on where your stylesheet is (embedded in the head of your document or in an external css file). So, mostly contextual selectors are used to specify which <td> tags your want to modify. For example,

will modify only the <td> tags in the content section.
With this method, you do not add any markup to your <td> tags in your html document, so your code remains uncluttered.
Also, the align attribute is still frequently used with the <td> tag. For example, <td align="right">. This attribute is deprecated and will not validate with a strict xhtml doc type. It's not a great sin to use it, but keeping up with standards is a good goal. Again, it adds unnecessary markup to your document. Presentation should be handled with css.

But, does that mean the the right alignment in SAP Item list was done through UI?
Another question is:
Normally, in an SAP query, when click Ctrl + left click the mouse at the bottom, I can see the total.
However, with the query that I have created, it seems to cut off the first number. Eg: The total should be AUD 231,123.00, but it is showing me AUD 31,123.
Can you see how I can fix that?

How to right align s:Label inside a s:controlBarContent ?

My spark app has a control bar at the top and i want to right-align a label inside it so my button bar is on the left and my label is on the right. I tried using the 'horizontalAlign="right"' which works find inside a s:panel but not inside a s:controlBarContent. Does anyone have any idea how to achieve this please? Also, the flash builder 4 ide won't let you move the label over in design mode either...

I figured it out myself. I added an s:Hgroup around my label and set width="100%" and horizontalAlign="right" you need to set the width to 100% otherwise you're just right aligning within the actual width of the component (which is pretty useless eh?).
