How to roatate .out weblogic logfiles in windows environment

How to roatate .out weblogic logfiles in windows environment

Hello,
You can follow the below approach;
By default, every 24 hours the Windows service archives messages to a file named pathname-yyyy_mm_dd-hh_mm_ss. New messages collect in the file that you specified when you set up the service.
You can change the time interval or you can set up rotation to occur based on the size of the message file instead of a time interval.
To change the default criteria at which the Windows service rotates message files:
If the Windows service is running, shut it down.
Edit the file you specified in the -log: pathname argument. If a file does not exist, create one.
For example, if you issued the example command in step 3. in the previous section, create a file named d:\bea\wlserver6.1\config\mydomain\myserver-stdout.txt.
Do one of the following:
If you want the Windows service to rotate the message file at a specific time interval regardless of file size, add the following statements at the top of the file, each statement on a separate line (make sure to press the Enter or Return key after typing the last line):
# ROTATION_TYPE = TIME
# TIME_START_DATE = date-in-required-format
# TIME_INTERVAL_MINS = number-of-minutes
where TIME_START_DATE specifies when the first rotation should take place. If the specified time has already passed, the first rotation occurs when the time interval specified in TIME_INTERVAL_MINS expires. You must use the following format to specify the start time: Month Day Year Hour:Minutes:Seconds
where Month is the first 3 letters of a Gregorian-calendar month as written in English
Day is the 2-digit day of the Gregorian-calendar month
Year is the 4-digit year of the Gregorian calendar
Hour:Minutes:Seconds expresses time in a 24-hour format
and TIME_INTERVAL_MINS specifies how frequently (in minutes) the Windows service rotates the file.
For example:
# ROTATION_TYPE = TIME
# TIME_START_DATE = Jul 17 2003 05:25:30
# TIME_INTERVAL_MINS = 1440
When the time interval expires, the Windows service saves the file as pathname-yyyy_mm_dd-hh_mm_ss. It then creates a new file named pathname. This new file, which contains all of the headers that you specified originally, collects new standard out and standard error messages.
If you specify # ROTATION_TYPE = TIME but do not include the other lines, the Windows service rotates the message file every 24 hours.
If you want the Windows service to rotate the message file after the file grows beyond a specified size, add the following statements at the top of the file, each statement on its own line (make sure to press the Enter or Return key after typing the last line):
# ROTATION_TYPE = SIZE
# SIZE_KB = file-size-in-kilobytes
# SIZE_TRIGGER_INTERVAL_MINS = polling-interval
where SIZE_KB specifies the minimal file size (in kilobytes) that triggers the Windows service to move messages to a separate file.
and SIZE_TRIGGER_INTERVAL_MINS specifies (in minutes) how frequently the Windows service checks the file size. If you do not include this header, the Windows service checks the file size every 5 minutes.
For example:
# ROTATION_TYPE = SIZE
# SIZE_KB = 1024
# SIZE_TRIGGER_INTERVAL_MINS = 3
When the Windows service checks the file size, if the file is larger than the size you specify, it saves the file as pathname-yyyy_mm_dd-hh_mm_ss. It then creates a new file named pathname. This new file, which contains all of the headers that you specified originally, collects new standard out and standard error messages.
If you specify # ROTATION_TYPE = SIZE but do not include the other lines, the Windows Service checks the size of the message file every 5 minutes. If the file is larger than 1 megabytes, it rotates the file.

  • How to find out if your Dell Windows 8 has access 2010 or 2013

Where do you look on a new Dell computer with windows 8 to find out if you have access 2010 or 2013? I was taking class at a career center and she told me to tell her if I have it already on my computer.  I don't know where to begin with it to find
out if I have this or is this something I have to find out first and then download? Is there a cost for this?

    Hi Nora,
As suggested above, to verify whether you have a specific application installed on your Windows 8 computer, you can scroll the Start Screen from left to right, see if you can find the tiles (Access 2010/Access 2013).
Another way to find a program Tile or Shortcut is to simply use the Windows 8 Search function.  All you have to do is start typing the program name directly on the Windows 8 Start Screen. Typing on the Start Screen invokes the search function.

  • How to find out the last closed windows?

I closed several ( 5-6) firefox windows when shutting down my computeer, and after re-staring firefox chose to 'restore previous session' (set by default but failed to so automatically this time). Saddly, in my about:config there was the default of opening only 3 windows, which means that all the others windows and tabs are now gone.
My question is: can I fin out in the history, or or in the some firefox log files, the address of the pages that were open in those windows/tabs. A list of all closed tabs and the time they were closed would suffice. The 'recentely closed tabs' options does not appear to contain that information, only the tabs that were closed in the current window.
    Details:
    OS: Linux Ubuntu 14.04
    Firefox 35.0.1
    Cheers.

    Hi!
Try STAD transaction. Unfortunately it contains a huge amount of data, so it is available only for a few days backwards... Maybe some weeks, but you can't make yearly reports from its data... So it's not useful to see, which program is in use or not...
I planned once to download it weekly, but it was not so important...

  • How can I import files from a windows environment?

I am used to a pc environment.  How can I import files ie. PDF, excel, word onto my iPad?  I imagine that this is done through ITunes but am unsure how?  Are there iPad versions of say Microsoft office that need to be used?

I use Documents to Go, a program that will open all the file types you listed. With its purchase you also get access to a desktop program that allows you to wirelessly sync documents between computers and your device, without going through iTunes.
The other ways to get data onto your device
Mail it to yourself and then save it to (send it to) the app from the e-mail.
Use iTunes to sync the data into the app that will open it.
Use an online service like Dropbox or others. You put the data 'out there' on your PC, then access it on your iPad and save it into the app.
One thing to remember, the iPad is different from Windows and Macs in one fundamental way. There is no 'windows explorer' or 'finder' for the iPad. The operating system doesn't have access to the whole device and everything on it. Instead you have apps that access bits and pieces of the system and have limited ways to share data across apps.
Think of it as World War Two French Resistence.....all these different groups (apps) working on the same device, but most if not all of them have very limited ways to discuss/contact each other. The apps are 'sandboxed' in that they have limited contact with other apps. So the easiest way to deal with various file types is to find the app that handles that kind of file and use that.

  • Unable to start the weblogic server from windows environment

    Hi All,
In our training system we have installed the SOA 11g and it worked fine till today afternoon. We have logged off the admin user in windows account and logged with our login credentials into windows after that we are unable to start the weblogic server.
    - Earlier in the DOS command prompt we used to navigate to the path where the startWeblogic.cmd file located and then we execute the command, after that we will able to see the status message as RUNNING MODE in the bottom of the screen, and when ever we deploy an project using Jdeveloper in the weblogic server window some messages will appended based on the action.
    - Only when we issue the command to shut down the weblogic server at that time only the command will be back to the path from where we started the server.
    - After login to windows with our account, when we tried to start the weblogic server, it didn't throw any error instead of that after running few lines in the command window the prompt was back in to the (D:\Middleware\.....\Domains\bin)path from where we ran the command to start the server.
Please help us to resolve the issue asap.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sathyaseelan

    Hi,
Make sure that the user which you are using to start weblogic server should be part of Administrator group or the group to which your admin user belongs to.

  • How to monitor a java service in windows environment

    Hi all,
I have a 5 java services running on a windows box.
I want to monitor one of those. This service is called "appnew " and appnew interacts with the oracle database.
If it is running normally the application name as seen in the task manager is "appnew running" whenever there is some runtime exception the name changes to "appnew error".
now I want to develop some external tool which can send me alert emails when we get runtime exceptions and the service name changes to
    "appnew error".
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks in advance.

The code you are using to change the process name to "appnew error" is the place you want to put your call to an e-mail launch.

  • How to find MAC Address in Java, Windows Environment

    Dear All,
How to find the MAC address of a machine, provided the IPAddress of the machine.
    Thnx in advance..

Generally you can't. MAC addresses do not travel through routers.
For computers on your local subnet: connect to the computer somehow so that your computer knows the MAC, then run the command "arp -a" with Runtime.exec() and parse the output.
Or write a program/servlet that runs on the remote computer and returns that computer's MAC (or some of the MACs for computers with several network cards.)

  • "change the DBA group" in a windows environment

I would like to prevent OS-privileged users or connect as SYSDBA without giving password!
    (there would be no passwordfile)
In a unix environment we can hide the name of dba-group changing config at /rdbms/lib
    and relink:
    Change: #define SS_DBA_GRP "dba" to: #define SS_DBA_GRP "mygroup"
    rm config.o
    make -f ins_rdbms.mk config.o ioracle
??? How can I do that in a WINDOWS environment ???

    lkahlenb wrote:
    sorry, thats an windows environment.
I didnt found anything like a config for group name as in unix (there is no relinking at windows).
If I use windows I can modify the config (another existing group), relink and recopy the default config.
So a unix.admin with only basic oracle o´know-how is confused.
I am looking for similar steps on windows...Someone with admin authority on the OS has ultimate authority. Even if you figure out a way to have Oracle use a group other than ora_dba, it won't take a rocket scientist of an SA to figure it out and put himself in the correct group. You need to turn on auditing and have some strong policies regarding DBAs and SAs staying in their lane.

  • How to find out if a user is logged into a windows XP or VISTA machine

    Hi,
Could somebody please tell me how to find out remotely over a LAN, whether a user is logged into a computer that is running windows XP/VISTA or not? How can this be programmatically done if we know the name of the remote machine?
    Thanks.
    Ravisara

    Hi,
    Thanks for all the replies.
Actually it seems that my question has either been misunderstood or has been badly phrased by me.
What I want to know precisely is the way to find out if a user is logged into a machine or not. Say for example in a LAN there are three computers called A, B and C. If my Java program is running on machine C, how can the program check whether a user is logged into machine A? Assuming JRE is present in all three machines, the machines have as their OS windows XP or VISTA and all machines are connected to a windows domain(Windows 2003 server based network)
The idea here is to identify all the computers in a network that users are not logged into and then to remotely shutdown those computers in order to minimize wastage of electricity(preferably after a particular time of the day in an organization).
Any replies would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Ravisara

    Hi,
You can find version of weblogic plugin using below command.
    strings <plugin module file> | grep -i wlsplugins
    Mark if this helps.
