How to run a WAR in WLS

          Hi,
          I have successfully deployed a war in WLS 6.1 SP2 but I don't know how to call
          it from a browser. Could you please enlight me?
          The Web Application is called "Sample" and it is the Default Web Application.
          I used the server "myserver".
          Thanks,
          Joao

If it is the default WebApp, then you don't provide a context path. You
          simply call
          http://myserver:myport/HelloWorld.jsp
          or something like
          http://localhost:7001/HelloWorld.jsp

  • How to run the PioneerCyclingJSP and MotorPriseJSP modules at a time

    Guys,
    I would like to run the PioneerCyclingJSP and MotorPriseJSP modules at a time.
    Could you please suggest me the steps to run both servers at same time on JBOSS 5.0 with ORACLE.
    How to run a more that one server instance...
    Thank you

    You should be able to include both modules when building your ear file. Then both the module's war files will be created in the ear file. Access both the applications with their respective /PioneerCycling or /motorprise ( look for context root in application.xml)
    If you want to run each application on different server, then
    1. create 1 individual instances of jboss server for pioneer and another for motorprise
    2. create additional dynamo server using command makeDynamoServer.bat motorprise 8861 8851
    3. deploy each one on respective server folders in jboss
    Use the appropriate ports to access ( say for ex:)
    localhost:8860/pioneer
    or
    localhost:8861/motorprise

  • How to deploy a war file on Weblogic Server 7.0??

    Hello Everyone
    I am trying to deploy a servlet on Weblogic Server 7.0 as a WAR file. Can anyone of u plz tell me the steps required to do that. I am posting this question on EJb forum and not on servlets coz this is not a servlet problem, rather this is something which is related to J2EE, ie how to deploy a war file on J2EE Server.
    This is how i have done it, but this is not working---
    (1) First i created a directory structure for the web application according to J2EE Specification.
    C:\Work\
    myServletWAR\
    META-INF\
    WEB-INF\
    classes\
    HelloServlet.class
    web.xml
    i.e within work directory, there is a dic called myServletWAR which is my application directory which contains 2 sub directories viz META-INF which contains the mainifest file being generated by the jar utility. the second directory in the myServletWAR application dir is WEB-INF, which contains one file called web.xml for servlet mapping and one directory classes which contains HelloServlet.class
    (2) I used following command for creating war file from myServletWAR director(i.e from my web application's directory).
    jar -cvf TestServletWAR.war .
    This creates the TestServletWAR.war file in myServletWAR dir.
    Here is how my Servlet and web.xml looks like...
    Servlet code
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class HelloServlet extends HttpServlet
    public void doPost ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    doGet( req, res );
    public void doGet ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )
    throws IOException, ServletException
    res.setContentType( "text/html" ); // Can also use "text/plain" or others.
    PrintWriter out = res.getWriter();
    // Get the requestor's IP address (See JavaDocs to see how to get other info):
    String addr = req.getRemoteAddr();
    // Create output (the response):
    out.println( "<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>HelloServlet in myServletWAR</TITLE></HEAD>" );
    out.println( "<BODY><H1 ALIGN=\"CENTER\">" );
    out.println( "Hello " + addr + ", from HelloServlet in myServletWAR!" );
    out.println( "</H1></BODY></HTML>" );
    out.close();

    http://localhost:7001/myServletWAR/myHello
    I am getting the HTTP 404 Error, which is an indication that weblogic was unable to find the resourse, which it was requested for. Can anybody plz tell me what i m doing worng?? do i need to use weblogic related xml file (i.e weblogic.xml) also along with web.xml. If yes, then what all i need to include that. I m not very sure. A sample weblogic.xml file for this HelloWorld example will help me a lot.
    Looking forward for your help

    3.i m created war file(in the form of jsp)

    You must create :
    1.Jar file
    2.War file
    And then put them into an ear file
    Exemple : myapp.ear contains
    myappEJB.jar
    myappWEB.war
    META-INF/application.xml
    and application.xml looks like this :
    <application xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" version="1.4"

  • How to run JRE from an external USB disk

    Hi
    I wanted to put up a tomcat servlet engine that could run from a USB harddisk without any previous installment on the host machine. The OS of the host machine would be windows 2000.
    My first question would be; is that possible ?
    I think that when i install JRE environment on some w2k machine som registry stuff is created. And my problem here would be, how to run the java without any registry updates and directly from the USB stick that i insert into the machine.
    And my second would be; what should i install of java on the USB to make this work?
    Grateful for any input on this, or any pointers.
    Best regards
    Abid

    You would need the whole JRE on the media, and I would also assume the the full SDK/JDK as many servlet containers use the SDK's java compiler if you're doing JSPs.
    You would then simply install your servlet container and your .war files. Now I believe that registry settings are not mandatory but one must ensure the PATH, JAVA_HOME, and CLASSPATH environment variables are set accordingly, thus a startup script (.bat/.cmd) would be necessary to create the OS environment, spawn the JRE and in turn invoke the servlet container.
    I've never done this with tomcat, but I've done very similar things with Jetty FYI.

  • How to Run servlet in Tomcat 5.5.9

    hi
    How to run servlet in tomcat 5.5.9?how to set context path in server.xml of conf folder in tomcat since there is no context tag in server.xml.
    Jiten

    Hi ! I have a similar problem, well, it's along the same line ...
    I'm using NetBeans 4.1, and i've coded a servlet. Using NetBeans to launch my servlet (with the bundled Tomcat 5.5.7) works fine, however i need to deploy my application unto a Tomcat 5.5.9 server.
    Thus, i copied the WAR file generated by NetBeans into the Tomcat 5.5.9 webapps directory, and Tomcat expands it.
    Problem is when i run my JSP pages with the form tags, they do not work on the Tomcat 5.5.9 environment. Anyone knows why?
    (These work on the NetBeans Tomcat bundle 5.5.7)
    My form action :
    <form name="index" method="get" action="PageServlet">
    My web.xml :
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>PageServlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>application.PageServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>PageServlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/PageServlet</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    I'm really stumbed on why it doesn't work in Tomcat 5.5.9, any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance ^_^

  • How can I include personalization to WLS servlets

    Hello
    I have WLS 5.1 and WLCS\PS 3.2
    How can I personalized servlets which works on WLS 5.1 in the best way?
    (Some docs on BEA site?)
    Regards
    BP

    Hi Bartek,
    WLPS is running on WLS. Think of it as a really big WLS
    application comprised of EJBs, JSPs, etc. You typically do
    not need to run both at the same time. Take a look at the
    WLPS installation directory and you'll find things such as
    weblogic.properties which should be familiar.
    To add personalization, it's easiest if you use JSPs as we
    provide a number of tag libraries. If you must use servlets
    then you'll need to use the Java APIs. There is documentation
    for the tags and JavaDocs at:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wlcs/docs32/index.html
    I would suggest taking a look at the Personalization Server tour
    to get an overview of what's available.
    Cheers,

    I know that my question is very general. Thanks for any suggestions.
    My project working on WLS 5.1. I must adding personalization to it.
    And I don't know how can I join WLPS with WLS.
    I know that
    WLS listens at port 7001
    WLPS listens at port 7501
    (default)
    How WLPS connects with WLS?
    Do both servers must be running?

    Hi All,
    Could you please let me know how to run WLST In linux

    There are two ways to invoke wlst scripting
    1) You can call a py script using ${ServerHome}/common/bin/wslt.sh create.py
    2) You can set the environment using . ./setDomainEnv.sh and run java weblogic.WLST which will start the wlst offline mode.
    Here are some good examples

    Hi KK
    You will ot be able to open a WAR application deployed in NWDS . Alternatively you can open it using windows ity tools like winzip outside NWDS .
    What you can do is you can create a Web module project and incude all the src including JSP's and change the reqd jsp and redeploy the application again with the changes
