How to run an applescript through terminal

Hi Friends,
I want to run an apple script by terminal. Any ideas how can we do it?
I tried using the below code in terminal as
osascript script_name.scpt.
But, it returns an error.

I am sorry for not being explicit in my earlier post.I wanted to know basically what is the syntax of running an applescript through my terminal.

Can any one help me in giving me the command for running an apple script thru postupgrade shell file in other words i wana run an apple script while running my new installer that will upgrade the old version of application but while installing i want to run an applescript so as i know ill have to give that applescript path in the postupgrade script but how to run it while installation and where to keep it (is it postupgrade). May be in short how can i run apple script thru unix command.

Use the osascript command.
In my installer, I use the DropDMG program to build my DMG disk image. It doesn't quit automatically, so I have to do the following:
osascript -e "tell application \"DropDMG\" to quit"
Type "man osascript" for more information.

I installed office in my machine...but this doesn't solved my problem...
Finally i figured out the solution for this and it is working now, Here is the solution...!
Create the folder with name "Desktop" inside the below mentioned path
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\
But i really don't understand the logic behind this. Can someone explain it pls....

Hi, I am using a USB-6210 data logger from national instruments to collect data and run it through labview 7.1. However, when i try to run two labview files at the same time on two different channels in the data logger i get an error #50103 "The specified resource is reserved the operation could not be completed. How do i fix this?

I believe your overall project will be to collect data from
your USB-6210 on multiple lines and save this to a file. Photon Dan is correct
in the reason why you cannot use multiple tasks – because of the multiplexor,
only one AI task can be run at a time. I would suggest putting all lines into
one task and program, therefore eliminating the error, the need for multiple VI’s,
and writing all data to a file at once. If you have further questions, I would
ask that you post more detail about how you are collecting data (LabVIEW?
SignalExpress? Etc) and your program. Unless you are connecting to other
computers, you will not need to use VI Server, TCP, etc.

1.Application Server
2.Database server
Application server has a .exe file so i wanted to run this exe file through SQL server agent job from database server.
What is the process for run this Exe file

While i'm trying to implement this below method
Step1 : Right Click SQL Server Agent. Select New -> Job. This will open a wizard to schedule a new
job.
Step2 : Select Steps from options given on the left side of wizard. This is the main place to set your
exe\program as a running step. Give some name to this step, Select Operating System (cmdexec) for the Type and give the full path of exe in Text box for Command.
ex:\\10.11.00.98(your application serverIP)\ch.exe

You can check the status in "SAP Business Objects Data Services management Console", Below are the steps
Login in SAP Business Objects Data Services management Console
Click on Batch Job
Select the local repository
Then check your Job Execution status from there
For your second query there are two ways one is do the same activity what you have done in DEV.
below are the steps
Login in SAP Business Objects Data Services management Console and export the Jobs using export execution command from batch job
SHELL Scripts will be exported in Job Server Log
Move that SHELL script as per your location
Update the User environment variable same as DEV only difference is SID is changed

Sorry if i sound foolish how to run an applet through a java application

I am into java from last one month ank keep on exploring it in the want to
recently i created a application cum applet in the same class like
applet is doing its own task and there is a main method in the code
that does entirly different task lets assume displaying *'s on the dos prompt the program is getting complied and belive it its running as desired
but the only problem that i m facing if i use appletviewer Myclass.java
only the appletprog is displayed
and if i run java Myclass than only dos task is done
may be it is sounding foolish for most of you but if i can get a way
which will help me in excecuting only one of it and both of them run succesfully
it tryied different ways to do it but was not succesful
please do not get irreated if its bizzered but if you really have a solution for it .i will appreciate it

How to run OS command through Apex

I am using Apex 4.1 on Linux5 with database 11gR2.
I have created one page in apex which contains all my host names for different environments.
Is it possible to put some function in apex so that I may open a putty/ssh session by clicking/right-click on host entry.
Like if I click on any row, it should open ssh session through putty from my windows dekstop from where I am accessing the application.
I tried to search the solution on this forum and though google but no luck so far.

If understand your question correctly, you would like to command a VI to start execution on a remote computer. If these computers are connected using a network, I would suggest using the VI Server to command the remote VIs. This will allow you to not only execute the VIs, but also perform more advanced operations such as setting the front panel control values remotely
The Tutorial linked here is a good place to start with using VI server. It also includes an example of creating a VI and running it remotely.
