How to run Applets on IE6.0 with jdk1.4.1 installation

Hi All,
I have IE6.0 on my machine. Without any jdk installations applets were working fine on IE6.0. Then I installed jdk1.4.1 on my machine and all the applets stopped working on IE6.0.
I uninstalled jdk1.4.1 and then again installed jdk1.3.1 hoping that things will become normal.
But nothing changed and now applets are not working on IE6.0 even with jdk1.3.1.
I will really appreciate incase some could help me understand or tell me incase there is some MS JVM plug in which will make applets work on IE6.0.
Regards,
Anand

Just disable Sun's Java. In IE go to "Tools|Internet Options|Advanced" and uncheck the option that says something like "Sun Java 2".

  • HOw to run Applet in browser.

    Hi guys. I've got 2 problems.
    1. In Window, I've got Java installed (and using NetBean IDE as Java editor), so of course I've got j2sdk_nb-1.4.2 installed as well. But I couldn't run any applet in IE, for example, in games.yahoo.com, I couldn't join any game because applet always failed to load. But yesterday, I've got a pop up asking to install jre1.4.2 and after install this JRE, everything works fine. My point here is, when I have SDK1.4.2 which contains JRE, why should I have to install new JRE to run applets ?
    2. Could anyone tell me how to run applet in Mozilla, Linux. I'm using Linux RedHat 9 as well. And in Redhat, I've got J2sdk_nb-1.4.2 installed with NetBeans IDE. It said that I need appropriate Plugs-in, but in my Java directory, I also found Plugsin directory. So how to configure Mozilla to run applet.
    Thanks for reading.

    Just to let you guys know that I sorted it out already. Well, the problem lies in I'm confused between two directory /usr/lib/Mozilla and /usr/lib/Mozilla and two Java plugs-in available in nsc60 and nsc60-gcc (don't remember exactly)
    For my Linux (Red Hat 9), I've got to create symbol link from nsc60 directory to /usr/lib/Mozilla, not any other way.
    Thanks

  • How to Run a SCSI Scanner with Firewire In OS X?

    Does anyone know how to run a SCSI scanner with Firewire in Mavericks?
    I have unsuccessfully tried the RATOC FR1SX SCSI-to-Firewire converter. The Ratoc is recognized as a Firewire device in the System Profiler (see pic below). However, the VueScan scanning software does not recognize the scanner.  I know the scanner works because I have been using it in an old HP PC. As such I  installled Windows 7 64 bit via Boot Camp to see if I could use the scanner, but had no luck.
    I have an iMac 21.5-inch, Mid 2010.
    ANY HELP?

    The Mac scanner driver is not seeing it as a native SCSI device assuming VueScan supports the model of scanner you have. (You did not list the scanner model.)
    Other than getting a modern non-SCSI scanner, a possible option would be to get a Thunderbolt PCI expansion chassis and a 'real' SCSI interface card. There is no guarantee this will work though as SCSI has been discontinued in the Mac world for years and years. If you then want to look at a SCSI card for use with the expansion chassis then look at the following.
    Hmm, just looked the AttoTech SCSI cards have been discontinued as well, as I said SCSI is ancient history in the Mac world.

  • How to run application on comp. with only jre installed?

    Hi guys! I've written an application and somebody wants to use it. I have an applet too but it does not have full functionality and slower.
    I am running applications from my desktop using shortcut on javaw.exe file located in jdk/bin folder. No problem with it.
    But if person does not want to instsall jdk? I know that jre has javaw.exe in its bin but it does not work that way.
    My question is: how to run application for domestic use without all this web start hassle and with only jre installed? Is it possible? If yes, how to do this?
    Regards

    Download the JRE redistributable from Sun. It is self installing and will allow the user to run your app using a regular shortcut to javaw.exe.

  • Urgent: how to run applet which connected to the servlet?

    hi frends:
    i have written an applet on the server side and it supposed to pass parameters to my servlet and retrieve some info from the servlet.
    i put both applet and servlet under tomcat../WEB-INF/classes. but when i run the applet from the web browser, there is no response from the servlet.
    could anyone help me to solve this problem?
    one more thing is i know that applet is able to connect to servlet, but how about java application? is it able to do so? if yes, is it also using URLconnection as applet? and how to run it?
    i will be very appreciate if anyone can help me... thanx a million.

    You can connect to the servlet from an application.There's a URL class in java.net that has an openConnection method. Then cast the return to an HttpURLConnection and use setMethod to set up as a post request.This may be the default if you call setDoOutput(true) on the URLConnection. Then you'll need to get an OutputStream and write properly formatted form POST data to it. It's also possible to encode your data on the URL, even when using the POST method, and this may be easier when doing it programmatically from an application. To send a get request you can append the name-value pair at the end of the url.

  • How to run a .bat file with string arguments?

    Hi,
    I have a problem in running a .bat file with string arguments
    - the file is XPathOverlap.bat with 2 stringarguments like: "/a" and "//a"
    - the cmd: c:\Downloads>XPathOverlap "//a" "/a" works fine.
    - here is my code:
    public static void test(){
         try{
              String loc1 = "//a";
              String loc2 = "/a";
              String[] cmdarray = {"c:\Downloads\XPathOverlap", loc1, loc2};
              Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmdarray);

              t.printStackTrace();
    How can i run this bat file with 2 string arguments?

    Hi,
    thanks thats good and helpfully
    so this code works:
    String loc1 = "\"/a\"";
    String loc2 = "\"//a\"";
    String path = System.getenv("MuSatSolver");
    String[] cmdarray = {"cmd.exe","/C",path+"XPathOverlap.bat", loc1, loc2};
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmdarray);
    p.waitFor();
    System.out.println("Exit Value: "+p.exitValue());
    InputStream cmdErr = p.getErrorStream();
    InputStreamReader isrErr = new InputStreamReader(cmdErr);
    BufferedReader brErr = new BufferedReader(isrErr);
    String line2 = null;
    while((line2=brErr.readLine())!=null){
         System.out.println("Error: "+line2);
    but now i have another problem, this is the output:
    Exit Value: 0
    Error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: fr/inrialpes/wam/treelogic/_xml/XPathOverlap
    Error: Exception in thread "main" The Exit value is 0, so the process terminates normally.
    I have tested this bat file in cmd and there it works correctly.
    Why do i get this error message?

  • How to Run a Cost Estimate with Budgeted Values parallel to the Std Cost Estiamte

    Hi Experts,
    My client want to run a parallel cost estimate with Budgeted values for each type of cost in a similar process like standard cost estimate(currently only Std business run only the std. cost estimate). Below will be provided to run the said cost estimate.
         1. Budgeted Cost for cost elements against each cost center
         2. Re-posting/distribution will be required run to allocate and apportion the cost from service cost centers to Production cost centers
         3. All Planned(future) Material Cost will be provided. (note that the valuation strategy of costing variant of standard cost estimate has below sequence
         4. Budgeted activity quantities will be provided. (Cost and activity qty for Kp06 and Kp26)
    Based on the above data business need to run a cost estimate with budgeted values parallel to the standard cost estimate(based on planned values), which will be compared with actual then Budget at each months.
    Simply an alternative cost estimate with budgeted values for a given period for all materials.
    Kindly advice the possibility of such a cost estimate in the system and if possible pls. mentioned the Process in order and configuration steps for the same.
    Thanks in advance.
    Aziz

    Hi..
    You can define costing variants which have valuation variant for budgeted values parallel to the standard cost estimate  in Customizing for Product Cost Controlling.
    You can define target cost versions using above costing variants under the customizing transaction OKV6 as below picture.
    When you calculate variances, you can check “all target cost version” flag to calculate variances  for all target cost versions in the controlling area as below picture.
    You can analysis the difference between actual cost and several budget cost using target cost version as below picture.

  • How to run Applets with any plug-in version = clsid version.

    I to be able to have any version of the plug-in equal or greater than that specified by the clsid and if they don't then download the plug-in version specified by the CODEBASE. This is what its says it is surposed to do in the dev notes(http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/versions.html) but its doesn't work unless I am doing something wrong.
    Example:
    I currently have version 1.4.1_01 installed and if I set the clsid to:
    clasdid="clsid:CAFEEFAC-0014-0000-0000-ABCDEFFEDCBA"
    it prompts to download the lastest version which I have specified in the CODEBASE(ie 1.4.1_01):
    CODEBASE="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/autodl/jinstall-1_4_1_01-windows-i586.cab#version=1,4,1,0,1"
    I am expecting it to just load the version I have as its already greater than the clsid version.
    I have also used clsid:CAFEEFAC-0014-0001-0000-ABCDEFFEDCBA and this does the same.
    I have also tried with clasdid="clsid:8AD9C840-
    044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93" which is the any plug-in clsid and it does exactly that and just uses any version and does not prompt to install 1.4 when a machine is already has 1.3.

    I guess I don't understand what you are asking. As I see it you ask a question and then provide the answer yourself.
    To make it absolutely clear: The way to require a minimum JRE version is to use clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93 as the classid. This is called dynamic versioning and is described in the "Java Plug-in 1.4.1 Developer Guide": C:\doc\java\1.4.1\docs\guide\plugin\developer_guide\using_tags.html
    I don't think there is any other way. And I can't see why you would need another way.

  • How to run applet within packages in tomcat

    I have servlet packages and applet packages in my application. I can successfully called my servlet packages by using:
    http://localhost/servlet/mypackage1.mypackage2.myServlet
    However, I can't call my applet packages by using:
    http://localhost/myapplet.html
    <Applet
    CODE = "myApplet.class"
    BASECODE = "mypackage1.mypackage2/"
    </Applet>
    I am currently using tomcat default web services directory structure as follows:
    webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\classes\mypackage1\mypackage2\myServlet.class
    webapps\ROOT\mypackage1\mypackage2\myApplet.class
    I received the following error:
    noClassDefFoundError:myApplet (wrongname: mypackage1\mypackage2\myApplet)
    Thanks in advance for any helps.

    This doesn't have anything do with servlets. Your
    problem, as you said, is how to write the HTML to run
    an applet. Whatever is trying to load that HTML
    doesn't know anything about your servlets and doesn't
    care. I think it is complaining because you did or
    didn't put your applet in the (badly-named) package
    mypackage1.mypackage2.The package names I used was just an example. My real package names were really long and 10 levels deep so I didn't want to use it. I finally figured out how to tell the browser to find my applet class package. Using my original example (with the bad package names):
    <Applet
    CODE = "mypackage1.mypackage2/myApplet.class"
    </Applet>
    I removed the codebase and just put the package class file in the root directory.
    I am sure there are more than one way to make this thing work but this is how I got my to work. Thanks.

  • How to run applet program in browser

    I am new in the field. I have begun with some basic programming. I wish to know how do you run a java programme in browser. I have added the html tag in the .java file. can anyone kindly let me know. thanks

    You don't add the tag to the .java file. You need a separate HTML document (such as a .html file, or a .jsp, etc.) that has the <applet> tag in it. (Also there's some stuff you can do with <object> and/or <embed>, apparently.) The applet tag tells the browser to load your applet.
