How to run just the data flow

We are in the process of converting from one ETL tool to Data Services 3.0.  I have a workflow with several data flows underneath it and have to make a change to the data flow.  Is there a way to run just the dataflow without executing the whole job?  For example, I just want to run DF4 below.
WF --> DF1 --> DF2 --> DF3 --> DF4 --> DF5
Thanks,
Dan

Although this topic is solved, just a few clarifications:
When you create a new job and drag 'n drop the workflow/dataflow into it, you are not creating a second object (class), you are calling the object a second time (instantiate). It is like a BASIC program. I created a sub-procedure and called in DF1. In my filesystem I can see that sub-procedure as a seperate file in the folder object_library -> dataflow_procedures.
Then I have two main programs, both just calling that sub-procedure with "gosub DF1".
In the job you see the calls, when you drill into DF1 you see its definition and what object it calls.
Using a conditional is okay but not adviced in my opinion. You are losing too much, the handling is complex and development takes a few seconds longer. my two cents only.

  • How to automate the data flow to content servers?

We have ECC connected to CS. Could you help tell how to automate the data flow into the CS? Thanks a lot!

What do you use the Content Server for? If its for archiving you need to run the STORE job to send the data to the CS.
I can't see a reason to automate that process

  • CR 8.5, how can I pass just the date, when it wantes date and time?

I have a stored procedure that is passes a date parameter.
When CR prompts me for the date, it also wants the time.
Either I have to pass CR the time of get CR to just look at the date.
When I run the report with a date and time, CR returns no records.
When I run the SP in a SQL query with just the date, it returns data.
I'm CR 8.5 and MS SQL Server 2005
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Kelvin

You can pass the parameter values as follows for datetime.
01/31/2008 00:00:00 which will returns the data in the report.
If you either not interested to pass the time everytime, you can achieve it through Add Command option in the datasource expert and trigeer the SP. (i'm not sure Add Command is available with CR 8.5)
    Hope this helps!!

You put the internal drive in an enclosure. If you choose to keep the drive, you don't need to erase it.

In technical support, sometimes you have to make educated guesses. I'm sorry that you were offended.
iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her.

  • How to find the data flow in pipes

    Hi All,
I am working on an existing created job which have the query that mapped to a input file from there it have a couple of Query transforms. After the second Query transform there are multiple Pipes with different query transform in which all of the querys are target to a error table and one pipe is target to a clean table.
I want to know how the data is flow into the clean table and error table. How to find the conditions saying which record needs to go into the clean table and which record needs to go into an error table.
    Thanks

for some specific operation you can check Process tab inside Oracle Application which shows the data flow as part for workflow process.

    1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
    2) connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
    3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
    4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.

    6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

  • How to analyse the date flow diagram

    hi guys,
my question is how to analyse in detail the data flow diagrams and functional and technical spes. how can i understant in detail.
    regards,
    manju

    Hi,
Data flow diagram will show you the flow of the data from the Source System till the data target. It will give you the details of the Data Source, Info Source and Info Provider etc...
Functional Spec gives you the requirement of your company, I mean the fields they need for a particular reports and tables they have used etc... All you have to do is compare the fields you have in your data sources and finout which fields need to be added to the data sources or do you need to go for a new custom data source etc.. and prepare a Gap analysis Document. When You put the details of the data sources till the Info Provider I mean the TRs and URs etc.. in a document it becomes your Tech Spec.
    Hope it helps...

  • How to return just the TIME in a date time stamp column?

    Hello.
My 'DATETIMESTAMP' column ordinarily returns '15/11/2011 10:32:15'.
If I TRUNC(DATETIMESTAMP) I can get just the date - which is great.
But what I want here is just the TIME element.
SUBSTR doesn't seem to return anything after the date element.
    I've searched high-and-low!
    Any thoughts people?
    Cheers.
    Ady.

    I don't believe it - I could have sworn I'd tried that!
    Cheers pal.
    That's fixed it for me.

  • How to get ONLY the data shown in the plot area (Chart)

My chart history length are 120000, often I don't need to save the whole
buffer, just the data shown in the plot area?
    Richard Pettersen

    Hi Richard,
you haven't said which version of LabVIEW you're using, so I've assumed 6.1, although this should be fine for older versions too.
I put down a chart with a scrollbar, so I could go through the old data, and put an indicator attached to the x-scale->Range->minimum and x-scale->Range->maximum. These followed the displayed elements in the chart as I scrolled through the data. You can therefore link in the chart history (history data property of the chart) with a array subset to retrieve the appropriate portion.
Be aware though. The minimum and maximum that the chart is showing on the x-scale may not be a part of the history data. E.g. if I set the history length to 1000 points, and produce on the first run, 1000 points, then my minimum and maximum are a
t say 899 and 999. I then produce a second set of data, 1000 points long, and my min and max move to 1899 and 1999. As my history data is only 1000 long, I can scroll back to 1000 OK, but my min and max used as indexes don't relate anymore. The array of data is from 0 to 999, but my indexes can run from 1000 to 1999. So I have to add in a check that sees how much data is available before attempting to index, and then it's down to the flow of the program to try to work out where the data actually is (I'll leave that one to you - you'll need to keep track of the history data compared to the maximum (shown just after a point is added though this then makes a mess of your data! - possible to keep a track of new minimum when adding new data : the maximum (which will show once new data goes on) minus the history length gives the minimum that can be scrolled to - subtract this from all max's and min's to get real offset into the data - history length can be got from the history data and an a
    rray size sub .vi)
Obviously there's no problem if you're clearing the graph everytime you either plot new data, or reach maximum capacity on the history data as the indexes return to zero.
    Hope that helps

  • How can i Extraxt the data form Data ware house to BI

    Hello Gurus,
Our Requirement is to Extract the data from Data ware house( Informatica, Business objects)
How can i Extract and What r the steps follows
    Regards

    Hi Lakshmi,
You can use third party tools for extraction data from DW, like PowerCenter for Informatica , BusinessObjects Data Integrator for Business Objects.
To use third-party source systems, you have to create RFC destinations from BW to an RFC server running on the third-party ETL server.
These tools usually work in a similar way. First, they extract data from the source database. Then, the tool stages the data in an intermediate database before loading it to the target system.
Transformations can occur at any point in the data flow, although you will usually want to store an untransformed copy of the data before significantly manipulating it.
    Thanks
