How to run projects on Wireless Toolkit on Solaris 10?

Hi,
I've installed Solaris 10 on x86.
After that I've installed Wireless toolkit and Netbeans Mobility pack.
I was able to install both of them but, Now, when I try to run any J2ME application I get an error "Cannot find /lib/ld-linux.so.2" and something about preverifying.
This might bebecause there isn't any perfect version of WTK available for Solaris 10 and I need to use wtk for liunx.
I think since, solaris and WTK both are product of SUN they should provide solaris compatible version of WTK.
Please let me know how can I solve this problem or suggest any other tool that can allow me to create and deploy J2ME applications on Solaris 10(x86)
I need this to be solved pretty quickly since it is very urgent
Thank you all

there is no WTK 2.x for solaris, but it is possible to use WTK 2.x and Solaris. You can find how to that here:

Good Luck,

  • How to use assert with wireless toolkit?

    Hi,
I am trying to find out how to use assert with wireless toolkit. I have found that I need to pass "-source 1.4" to the java compiler. But I can't find any documentation on how to do it.
    I'm using J2ME Wireless Toolkit 2.2.
    thanks
    Ludde

Here's a quote from an article on Java World at http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-11-2001/jw-1109-assert.html
"To support the new assertion facility in J2SE 1.4, the Java platform adds the keyword assert to the language, an AssertionError class, and a few additional methods to java.lang.ClassLoader."
So I really think it's part of 1.4.

  • Creating a project with wireless toolkit

    Hi everybody,
I'm trying to create a project with WTK 2.1 and I can't. I follow the tutorial steps but after building successfully the sources I run them and appears me the following lines:
    Unable to create MIDlet BotonMid
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: BotonMid
    at com.sun.midp.midlet.MIDletState.createMIDlet(+14)
    at com.sun.midp.midlet.Selector.run(+22)
    Execution completed.
Selecting new project in the wireless toolkit I type the following:
    Project name botonoriginal
    Midlet class name BotonMid
BotonMid is the name of a java file and is the name I have in the line
public class BotonMid extends MIDlet implements CommandListener
Why can't I create the project?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the responses. But both solutions proposed doesn't work and I don't know why. First of all I try to compile the BotonMid.java file using javac and it appears me 29 errors. I'm confused because when I build the project is successful.
Maybe there is a J2ME compiler (j2mec for example) but I don't find in the web. I also try to type a public constructor but appears me the same error.
And my question is: how can I compile the java file without errors? I don't understand why appears me 29 errors if the file building is sucssesful.
    Thanks.

  • How to RUN project not in browser

    hello;
    I'm new to flash builder ( plugin for eclipse ) and flex;
when I run my project ( flex project ... hello world ) it  runs as a 'web application' and thus exits eclipse and sends me to a new tab in my mozilla.
of course in flash, a flash player just opens right in the authoring environment ... easy.
is there a way to get flash builder ( ie eclipse ) to run the app in a flash player right in the IDE.
typically during development I test run my apps 100's of times ...
    thanks,

This forum is about Sun Studio C compiler and C programming in general. I suggest you ask on one of OpenSolaris forums - http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/index.jspa?categoryID=1
If I get it right and you are looking for Rexx interpreter, you'll need to download and install it first. Here are first two links I found myself:
    http://nixbit.com/cat/programming/interpreters/regina-rexx-interpreter/
    http://users.comlab.ox.ac.uk/ian.collier/Rexx/rexximc.html
If you are new to Unix in general, there are several subjects you need to cover before you proceed; one of places to start is again a Solaris forum - http://forums.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=863

  • Sun Java Wireless Toolkit for Solaris

I dont see the SJWTK for Solaris in list update of NetBeans, only 2.1.
However, in the site already exists version 2.5.X., but Linux and W32, why?

I also wanted to use JWT 2.5.2 on Solaris but it seems there is no supporting libraries. I get the following error when trying to run the Linux ktoolbar:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: /usr/local/WTK2.5.2/wtklib/SunOS/ktools.properties (No such file or directory)Any plans to support Solaris?

  • Sun Wireless Toolkit - ktools.properties?

    Hi friends,
Does somebody know how can I change the ktools.properties (placed on C:\WTK21\wtklib\Windows) in order to make the Wireless Toolkit find all the classes it needs in a third party jar file? Actually I don't know if this is the file I need to change.
Let me explain. Siemens devices put all CLDC, MIDP1.0 and proprietary classes in a single JAR file called api.jar. I would like to know how can I set the Wireless Toolkit to use this file instead of the files midpapi10.jar and cldcapi10.jar. In prior versions of the WTK all the classes used in the compilation process were available in a single file calle midpapi.zip and I could rename the Siemens api.jar file to midpapi.zip and everything was ok, but now they are split in configuration and profile jar files. What can I do?
    Thanks in advance fellows
    Cleverson

I tried to deal with it by ktools.properties but it didn't work. On some tech details about WTK I read that it simply doesn't support proprietary apis.
However, I found a way to get around it. I put api.jar (siemens) in the lib dir. When I create the package, this api is inserted in the midlet.jar . All is left to do is delete the com/* directory from the jar file. Then the program can be run on the phone.
It's a bit messy but I set up macros for these tasks and everything works quite smoothly. And I don't like all these monstrous IDEs so I prefer to work with plain WTK.

  • How to use KAWT with "Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.3 Beta"?

    Hi!
Im new to developing java for mobile devices so all of this is pretty confusing for me. I started with installing suns:s "Wireless Toolkit 2.3 Beta" and it works fine but now I want to use awt classes so I started to look it up and thats how I found out about kawt. I followed the tutorial at http://www.kawt.de/ and i was able to use it for Java Wireless Toolkit 1.0.4_02 so that it compiled fine and was run able.
Then I tried the same thing in v 2.3 but I got a error that looked like this "Uncaught exception java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: awtDemo: /awt/event/ActionListener: Cannot create class in system package." when i tried to run it. It compiled fine when I pressed the build button witch wouldnt have happened if i hadnt installed it correctly. So Im wondering if someone knows were to find a tutorial for installing kawt for "Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.3 Beta" or if anyone knows what might be wrong?
    I'd welcome any help
    Thanks!

If using the zip install of DSEE, you need to use your own java container to host DSEE. Try downloading the latest Tomcat (http://tomcat.apache.org) and deploying your dscc in it.

  • Wireless Toolkit J2ME - changing the directory structure for your projects

When I create a new package in the Sun Java Wireless Toolkit, the toolkit is creating a folder for the application and its subfolders in the following directory:
    C:Documents and settings/Owner/j2mewtk/2.5.2/apps/<name_of_project>....
I am trying to change the directory for new and existing projects so that the directory is:
    C:WTK2.5.2/apps/<name_of_project>....
The WTK is already installed directly under the C drive (C:WTK2.5.2/ )
Any help would be much appreciated.

    I experience the similar problem.
But got success with some mobile models and most of them fail.
I put the following file in the web page.
    (test.html, test.jad, test.jar)
Sony Erisson P800, install successful when accessing http://x.x.x.x/test.html, or http://x.x.x.x/test.jar
Nokia 7650, install successful when accessing http://x.x.x.x/test.jar
    Nokia 3530 Fail,
Does anyone know how to install java game to Nokia 3530 through Web.

  • How to run a project which gets parameters from a batch file

    Hello all,
I use to run a program, which gets parameters only by interactive mode, using a batch file as you can see below:
    # myprogram < batchfile.txt
Now, I'm updating its code by SunStudioExpress IDE and I'd like to run it from the batchfile. I have noticed that the project properties window has the option run -> arguments, however this program doesn't accept arguments this way and for changing it, I'd have a hard job.
Does someone know how to run this project and to get its parameters from batchfile?
    Regards,
    Glauber

Ah, it appears that when you run the project, "<" is passed as one of the arguments and is not treated as input redirection.
Sorry, it looks like it is not possible to do the redirection; and it looks like a bug to me. Could you please file it through bugs.sun.com? It shouldn't take long as the problem is evident now.
