How to run remote manager as a service

Hi,
We have remote manager installed in remote server. When we log off from the server, Remote manager stops running and our exchange provisioning fails. Is there a standard way to keep remote manager running even if we log off from the server?
We thought of running remote manager as a window service but we are not sure whether its a good practice or not. We also, dont kow whether oracle recommends this way or not. If anybody have worked on this, then please let us know.
Thanks.

below link will help you to configure bat script as windows service

In case of unix call your script under .profile.

  • How to assign OIM Remote Manager as a service on Win 2003 ?

    I want to assign OIM Remote Manager as a service on Win 2003. I've used instsrv.exe to install srvany.exe and configured Parameters-Application, Parameters-AppDirectory and Parameters-AppParameters string values using parameters from remotemanager.bat file. I've obviously make same configuration mistakes because when I try to start service which I create, I can't see any new java application and Remote Manager log stays calm.
    Would you please give me advices how to configure Windows registry to start Remote Manager as a service.
    Regards
    VeePee

    Hi folks,
    I am a little bit confused about this.
    The metalink note explains how to convert remote manager to a windows service using the java service wrapper (and noted that this approach applies to version 9.0.1)
    It is explicitly declared that OIM’s Remote Manager can run as a Windows Service in OIM 9.1 datasheet (see: http://www.oracle.com/global/kr/download/pdf/ofm/OIM_DATASHEET.PDF) but admin/install guides does not include any configuration guidance about how to do it.
    Is there an easier way for v 9.1 to install remote manager as a service or do we use Java Service Wrapper method for this version also ??
    cheers

  • Survey - How do you run Remote Manager?

    Greetings,
    We recently upgraded to Exchange 2010 and I'm running across the issue that many other people are.. what to do with Remote Manager. I'm just wondering how other people keep Remote Manager running? I know some people use Java Service Wrapper, but there seems to be a lot of discussion around how well that truly works. I'm just also wondering if there are a lot of companies that keep an account logged into your machine to keep Remote Manager running? Just looking for options on how to run this program without costing the company additional dollars.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ryan

    simple
    instead of making remote manager as an accouunt specific process..make it a system specific process.
    so when u log off it still be running.
    there are ways you can add it to services
    try this http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=197

  • How to enable Remote Management on multiple Macs using Workgroup Manager?

    Hi
    I want to use workgroup manager to enable remote management on multiple macs I manage.
    How can I do that?
    Regards,
    Omer Barel

    The only way I know to enable remote managment remotely is by running kickstart.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2370
    If you are already using a login script you could run kickstart from there.
    We clone our Macs with remote management turned on.
    Otherwise, lace up your sneakers.

  • How to run Policy manager in 10g on UNIX

    Hi,
    I have installed Oracle 10g and I want to install Label Security.
    Can anybody let me know how to open Policy Manager in 10g.
    I am working on HP-UX platform....
    JAI HIND
    Darshan

    1) Label Security is a separately licensed option - costs extra $;
    2) There is a whole manual describing how to use it;
    3) oemapp is available from the 'Client' installation CD in 10g;
    4) From the manual
    "Note that the graphical user interface for the Oracle Policy Manager (OPM) should be used for viewing data only when Oracle Label Security is configured to use the Oracle Internet Directory. OPM can be used to view and modify data only when Oracle Label Security is configured to use the Oracle9i database as its primary repository. OPM can be used to manage VPD regardless of the Oracle Label Security configuration."

  • How to run a JAX-RPC web service

    I wrote the essential interface and classes to build a JAX-RPC web service, and I installed the J2SE 1.4.2 and Java Web Services Developer Pack 1.2 in Windows XP.
    I have read the Java Web Services Tutorial, but is so confusing for me.
    Anyone can provide the steps about the environment config, compile, package, and run the web service in Tomcat? thx

    I wrote these interface and class to create a simple web service:
    package test;
    import java.rmi.*;
    public interface HelloIF extends Remote {
    String sayHello(String s) throws RemoteException;
    package test;
    public class HelloImpl implements HelloIF {
    public String sayHello(String s) {

    I compiled these 2 and the *.class files exist in D:\backup\JAVA\fyp\test

    I placed the config.xml in D:\backup\JAVA\fyp, then I type the following command:
    D:\backup\JAVA\fyp>wscompile -define config.xml -model model.gz
    the system response is:
    error: RmiModeler error: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: test$HelloIF

  • How to run Indesign CS3 as a Service with Port number

    Hello all,
    I would like to run the InDesign CS3 Server as a service on Windows. It seems that after installing the Server it automatically installs as a service. But where can I assign the port number. If under Services properties of InDesign Server under Parameters I mention -port 1050 on Ok button it removes the parameter information.
    I am doing right or is there some other way to start the Server as Service with Port number.

    have you tried to remove the service and install it manually?
    \"Path to IDS"\InDesignServerService /install /u
    \"Path to IDS"\InDesignServerService /install

    I tried to start the service with a huge range of users having all imaginable privileges. The common way of using either "LocalService" or the Local System Account (which has admin rights for me) doesn't do the job.
