How to safely delete the strigi indexed database?

Hi, I have deactived strigi... and I want to gain those 2gb of indexed files...
it is ok to delete the content of .kde4/share/apps/nepomuk/repository/main
I will not broken something?
or there is a better way to do it?

I am sorry for double posting to separate forums, but I put this in the Mac OS X server forum, and I think I should have put it here instead, as it isn't necessarily server specific...
Sherlock is spinning in space for about 12+ hours telling me it is indexing. I already added EVERYthing in my hard drive to the list of files and folders to exclude from the Sherlock indexing (I did this in the System Pref panel). I even put my whole root drive in there, and it is still spinning its wheels.
I think the index is corrupt. How do I find and delete it? Obviously, I cannot use Sherlock to find it.

There isn't any Sherlock app in 10.6, it was removed already in 10.5. Are you talking about Spotlight?

I just got a ipod and thought it would be fun to have all my pictures on it... not knowing that itunes makes a complete copy of all my pictures (25gb) in iphoto: iTunes constructs a photo database on your hard drive in order to make photo syncing fast when you add new photos in the future.
now this completely ate all my reserve disk space and now I don't want pictures on my ipod...so I deleted them... but the itunes photo database still excists... not giving me back the 25gb of disk space I really need!
please help, please tell me there is an easy solution....

when I search the folder ipod folder cache I get the same folder as iPhoto Library,

when I click it to open my iphoto opens... I'm working with iphoto '08 7.1.1

Iam pasting my code below.My problem isi retrieve rows from database and display them in jsp page in rows.For each row there is delete hyperlink.Now when i click that link i should only delete the row corresponding to that delete link temporarily but it should not delete the row from database now.It should only delete the row from database when i click the save button.How can i do this can any one give some code.

You mean when you click on the hyperlink you want that row to disappear from the page, but not delete the row from the database until a commit/submit button is pressed?
Personally, I think I'd prefer that you have a delete checkbox next to every row and NOT remove them from the display if I was a user. You give your users a chance to change their mind about their choice, and when they're done they can see exactly which rows will be deleted before they commit.
You know your problem, of course, so you might have a good reason for designing it this way. But I'd prefer not removing them from the display. JMO - MOD

(They are backed up in Time Machine, but I like the immediacy of having them available.) So question 1 - is it possible to split the iphoto library so that the directory tree points to an external drive in some cases? And if that doesn't work--I am willing to export and delete some of these photos. However, an earlier delete left me with events that have a name in the event folder, but no photos. Question 2 -- How do I properly delete photos so that all references disappear?

how can I delete the TemporaryTopic after created TemporaryTopic using JMS C API "JmsSessionCreateTemporaryTopic"?
I checked the document about JMS C API, but I couldn't find any API for delete TemporaryTopic, it's really not existing?
Or if there's any other way that I can delete TemporaryTopic using VC++? Any comments will be appreciated.

As far as I can tell, there's no C-API option for deleting a temporary topic other than to close the connection used to create the temporary topic. Note that it is inefficient to frequently create and destroy temporary topics.
You can get pretty much equivalent performance and functionality with a shared regular topic, non-durable subscriptions, and selectors that take advantage of the "indexed subscriber" optimization. (Consumers specify a selector that is unique to them in the exact form of "MyUniqueID NOT NULL", while publishers send to a specific consumer by adding "MyUniqueID" as a message property. The "X NOT NULL" selector format activates the indexed subscriber optimization.)

I found the answer....
go to the folder of your pictures, then either right click (or ctrl + left mouse) on iphoto library then click show pakket, then you will find the Ipod folder cache which then can be deleted...

How can i delete the masters of iPhoto without losing my photos

I am currently keeping my iPhoto library on my 256 SS Main Drive of my MacBook Pro.
How can I delete the masters of iPhoto without losing my photos in the main iPhoto display library and all their masters and edits.
I take loads of photos and import them and then will keep only 5% of the ones that I import. As a result I have a masters folder of over 50GB and actual photos that take up less that 5GD. Is it possible to delete the master folder without losing all the photos and without having to pain stakingly go through every folder and pick out from literally hundreds the ones that i kept and edited. How do I reduce the size of the masters just down to the ones that I have kept and not every single photo and video that I imported in the history of my iPhoto experience.
If I delete the master folder will all the photos and their edits be deleted.
If so, is there a way to just delete the masters that are no longer in the iPhoto library, while keeping the masters and edits of the ones that I clearly want to keep because they are the ones that I did keep.
Why do they keep the masters of photos that I clearly deleted and emptied the trash on.

All the 5000 photos that reappeared after repair today were from my canada mega event, but for some reason it did not do it for all the other mega events. It is a start but not complete.
Try the rebuild to recover more lost photos.
If "rebuild" with iPhoto does not recover more lost photos, rebuild with iPhoto Library Manager as described by Old Toad in this thread, but rebuilding with iPhoto Library manager will not recover your projects like cards, bilks, slideshows.

Mostly the way I organize all my photos is that I make a folder for each country I visit. i.e. New Zealand Folder, Canada Folder, India Folder; and at the same time, any photos that I import I delete directly from new imports and just keep the ones i want and then i go up to events and move the latest imported event into a mega event for that country and so they all get joined in a sense.
As a workaround, merge the events right after importing, before you start deleting photos. And empty the trash always before merging projects.
You might consider to use albums instead of events for your country lists. I simply use the events as basic containers. One event for each day of shooting photos. I found, that smart albums and searches are quicker in iPhoto and Aperture, if the events are smaller, also browsing is easier, if the events are not so large.
You can merge albums and remove photos from albums without the problems mentioned above.

If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Well, yeah. You want to create separate accounts for each of you, using individual Apple IDs. I know mothers and daughters like to share clothes, shoes, handbags, etc. but don't share Apple IDs.
