How to save the structure of a formatted text in adf faces output component
Hi all
please help me.
I need to display my formatted text (with line breaks) in the jsf page. How can i do this. If i use OutputText all my line break ("\n") are ignored, the same effect with OutputFormatted component. I have tried to substitute linebreaks with the respective html tags but it also didn't take an effect.
Thanks in advance
Hi Timin,
Set the Escape property on the outputText or the outputFormatted to <b>false</b>
I believe only HTML tags will work though

How to save the modified rows in jspx page usind adf default commit action
Hi,
We are displaying some columns of the database table in jspx page. Here we are using adf commit action to save these values to database which is updating all the rows by default. In this page there are some editable columns which the user can miodify. How can we update only these modified rows using default adf commit action. Also we want to update last_updated_date column of that particular row which is modified in the UI from backing bean .
Can anyone please help us in solving this.
Thanks in advanceUser,
A key question - what are you using for the model layer (ADF Business Components, JPA, EJB, etc)?
How are you determining that a "commit" action is updating rows (even those which haven't changed)?
If you are using ADF Business Components - have a read in the documentation about history columns - the use case you describe (updating the last_udpdated_date column) is supported "out-of-the-box" for this.

How to set the target of af:commandLink in Oracle ADF faces ( af:menuTabs )
I try to use tabbedpane component from Oracle ADF...As I found, they stated that only <af:commandLink> can be child of <af:menuTabs>
I want to press the tab then the result can be show at the bottom of that tab...as same as the jsf demo from SUN.
<af:menuTabs binding="#{editor.component}">
<af:commandLink text="Quick-Info" action="#{action.qinfo_page}"
selected="true" />
<af:commandLink text="Vertrieb" action="#{action.vertrieb_page}"/>
<af:commandLink text="Wichtig" action="#{action.wichtig_page}"/>
<af:commandLink text="Kontakt" action="#{action.kontakt_page}"/>
<af:commandLink text="Notizen" action="#{action.notizen_page}"/>
</af:menuTabs>
Now when i press to each tab, it will redirect to new page as i define (such as the code in welcome.jsf...then it redirect to qinfo.jsf when i press at Quick-Info tab).
Pleas help me to solve this problem...I need to show the result at that page (area below the tab). Thank you in advance.We're sorry, but this isn't supported. One rationale is that it's not generally sufficient to simply reload the target page; you also have to reload the tab control itself to show the new selection. We generally recommend not using frames in this circumstance, instead putting the menuTabs and the content on one page.
(BTW, "target" isn't really supported on <h:commandLink> either)

How do I create multiple types of child nodes in ADF Faces Tree Component
Hi,
I am trying to construct a tree using ADF Faces. The tree I am trying to develop should look something like:
- Departments
+ Dept 10
+ Dept 20
+ Dept 30
+ Dept 40
- Employees
+ SCOTT
+ALLEN
+ BLAKE
The nodes shown at the top level should serve as labels, indicating the various types of nodes available.
I have created the top level RootLabelsViewObj, with a SQL clause:
select rn, node_label
from (
select 1 rn
, 'Employees' node_label
from dual
union all
select 2 rn
, 'Departments' node_label
from dual
union all
select 3 rn
, 'Bonusplans' node_label
from dual
I have created ViewLinks between the RootLabelsViewObj and the DeptView and EmpView respectively (created on top of DEPT and EMP table in SCOTT schema), based on the LABEL attribute in the RootLabelsViewObj and with ViewLink SQL specified like:
:Bind_NodeLabel = 'Departments' for the link with DeptView and :Bind_NodeLabel = 'Employees' for the link with EmpView.
In the ADF BC Application Module Tester, I get exactly what I want.
However, when I create a JSF JSPX page and drag the RootLabelsViewObj from the Data Control Panel to the page as ADF Tree, I run into a little issue: it seems like I cannot create a second Branch Accessor rule for the RootLabelsViewObj1: I have created a first Branch Accessor Rule referring to DeptView and now try to create a second one for EmpView, to allow Employees to be displayed under the root label "Employees" - but I cannot.
The PageDefinition looks like:
<tree id="RootLabelsViewObj1" IterBinding="RootLabelsViewObj1Iterator">
<AttrNames>
<Item Value="Rn"/>
<Item Value="NodeLabel"/>
</AttrNames>
<nodeDefinition DefName="model.RootLabelsViewObj"
id="RootLabelsViewObjNode">
<AttrNames>
<Item Value="NodeLabel"/>
</AttrNames>
<Accessors>
<Item Value="DeptView"/>
</Accessors>
</nodeDefinition>
<nodeDefinition DefName="model.EmpView" id="EmpViewNode">
<AttrNames>
<Item Value="Ename"/>
</AttrNames>
</nodeDefinition>
<nodeDefinition DefName="model.DeptView" id="DeptViewNode">
<AttrNames>
<Item Value="Deptno"/>
</AttrNames>
</nodeDefinition>
</tree>
Does anyone know:
- whether it is possible (intended) to have more than one branch accessor per node (i.e. more than one type of child under a node in the tree)
- if so, how this can be achieved?
Right now it looks like I am limited to each node in the tree having only one type of child node.
Please tell me I am wrong.

Sai_SHAHi.
if you need to convert an EDI to XML you need to use an Adapter specific (e.g Seeburger) because PI doesn't support EDI files.
Also if you use a FCC , this configuration is for two level Header and Detail.
Check this.

I am trying to generate an application that saves a copy of its front panel on completion. This is easy to do using an invoke node with Print VI to HTML but this does not work in an .exe format. I have seen elsewhere that you have to use the Get Panel Image method, but no details are supplied in LV 5.0.1 documentation of how to use the "image" data (1-D Unsigned Byte array) that is generated. I want to save this in a format that can then be read as a bitmap in any standard graphics package. Any assistance?
Hi,
If you'd upgrade to LV5.1 or 6 you could use the 'standard' vi's for this.
You need a VI called "Write BMP File.vi". It's not shipped with LV5.0.1.
This vi only uses 3 subVI's, so perhaps someone at NI can convert it and
send it to you (sorry, I won't, it's copywrited).
If you cannot get this VI anywhere, you'll need to figure out the BMP file
format yourself. It's not too complicated, but still could take some days.
Perhaps someone figured it out before LV5.1 was released.
Regards,
Wiebe.

How to save a invoice in Word Format
Dear Sd Gurus
Please tell how to save a invoice in any format like word format other than the printed stationery .This saved document will be used for mailing to the customer.
No interface with internet or EDI .
Hope for a reply soon
Satish KulluHi Satish,
First, your SAP system must be configure by the basis people in order for you to send an external mail.
Whether it can send pdf or other file format will depends on the Mail Server you are using.
The basis people must also maintain the conversion parameters so that SAP knows how to convert the billing documents to be send as a pdf file or other desired format specified by your company.
Finally, you have define the IMG in Maintain Output Determination for Billing Documents (Output type MAIL)
Reward points if this helps.

How to save the data present in TEXT BOX?
Hi friends i am able to create a text editor in one of my screen but i want to know how to save the data when the text is entered in that text box and retrive when they open the screen?
Hi ,
Please check the format below since it is based on a working code
first you need to create a text in s010 function module...
there should be some key based on which you plan to save the text..imagine it is Purchase order then..PO+item numner is always unique.eg:0090010(900PO/item10).so in the code you can append these two and they will be unique..so you can always retrieve them,overwrite,save them anytime you need
**************data declarations
TYPES: BEGIN OF TY_EDITOR,
EDIT(254) TYPE C,
END OF TY_EDITOR.
data: int_line type table of tline with header line.
data: gw_thead like thead.
data: int_table type standard table of ty_editor.
****************fill header..from SO10 t-code..when you save you need the unique key..youfill it here and pass it in save_text function module
GW_THEAD-TDNAME = loc_nam. " unique key for the text -> our unique key to identify the text
GW_THEAD-TDID = 'ST'. " Text ID from SO10
GW_THEAD-TDSPRAS = SY-LANGU. "current language
GW_THEAD-TDOBJECT = 'ZXXX'. "name of the text object created in SO10

How to save layout with ALV Pivot format
Hi
In ALV report I have 25 fields but I want to use 10 fields out of 25 fields in Pivot Table. My problem is how to save this layout with Pivot format for on going use. At every time execution of report I need not required to set Pivot Table.
Please help me.
-SanjayHi,
Are you using FM REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY? If yes, then pass 'X' to the parameter I_SAVE while calling the fm.
if you are using Object Oriented ALV, then call the below method before calling the method for display

gr_layout_key TYPE salv_s_layout_key.

CALL METHOD gr_layout->set_key
EXPORTING
value = gr_layout_key.
CALL METHOD gr_layout->set_save_restriction
