How to scale down number of pages in ps files

I am having ps files that are havings 4 to 8 pages per file. Each page may contain just 5-6 lines and therefore though the content in total is not too much but there is unnecessay paper wastage.
Is it possible to make some changes in code inside ps files throgh notepad so that the content may be restricted to lesser number of pages. I am having programing skill in vfp,need guidance that what changes i need to do in ps script and where.

How to scale down size (kb) of a swf file?

Hi there,
quick question that I'm stumped on. I'm making a flash banner advertisement to go on a few websites. The guidlines I was given say to adhere to 40kb each.
The only trouble is that the client gave me a 250 kb.swf file that he wanted to be included in the files, so I've imported it as a movie clip, and sized it down (pixel wise) to the appropriate dimensions. The end results end up being about 260kb each.
Is there a way to dramatically optimize a .swf file? 40 kb seems pretty unreasonable for a 300 x 250 flash ad. Typically when I do these, they come out to about 100+ kb.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Is there a way to perhaps optimize the symbols so that they take up less space?

Sorry to have no definitive answer. There are tools (Flash extensions) for manipulating more than
one library item at once.

You could dig a round a bit for one that is what you want or try to write a command yourself. I have never done that, only adjusted some in the long gone past, so I won't be of much use there.

How to limit the number of pages a PDF can print?

Does anyone know how to lime the number of pages a PDF can print? For example, if a PDF has 100 pages, it only allow the user to print no more than 100 pages.
Any software can achieve this ?

But once I purchased a ebook, which required be opened with Adobe digital edition, the ebook only allow to print 57 pages out of 300+ pages total.
Are there any way to convert a PDF to a ebook and encrypted by the printing limits?

This is usually done in an .XML or other configuration file based on the particular web application container you are using.
For example, in Tomcat Java Container, its the following parameter in the /conf/web.xml file:

How to get the number of pages in a PDF file with AcroPDF ActiveX control

I am using the AcroPDF ActiveX control provided by Acrobat Reader and Professionals(version 9). I just wonder if I using LoadFile to load a PDF document, how can I know the number of pages in that PDF? I do not find any properites or methods that can do that.

Hi unk2,
There's no functionality in the Acrobat.com online services to do a character count. But, you could use ExportPDF to convert your PDF file to Word format, and then do your character count in Word.

I think this is not possible inside the code, because this value is deteremined after the code is executed and during the formatting of the report.

How to find the number of pages of a certain size

I have to do a good deal of printing at work, and often the number of pages have to be logged . Some files have various sizes in them, which are printed at either 8.5x11 or 11x17. I was wondering if there is a feature, or third party program that would allow me to view the number of pages for each page size, so as not to have to count by hand. Thank you.

You can get the page number by querying the FP_PageNum property of the FO_Page object:
pageNum = F_ApiGetInt(docId, pageId, FP_PageNum);
...or you can use FP_PageNumString if you are using string page numbers.
If you do not have the ID of the FO_Page object, you can get it from the paragraph ID using the following function, courtesy of Rick Quatro, posted to the Yahoo Framedev list. Send the paragraph (FO_Pgf) ID as oObj and it will return the page ID:
