How to scroll to region in a page dynamically

I have bunch of regions in a page. One of the region is report region and I need to show atleast 25 rows in this report. I have another region below this report which displays the details of the emlloyee and allows user to edit record. When user clicks on the report column link in the employee report above, is it possible to scroll to the edit region at the very bottom of the page dynamically,so that user don't have to do vertical scrolling ?.I can't put the edit region in " region Column2", as column2 region space is also displying some related salary reports. I've the sample page on APEX. any ideas are appreciated.

Yes, it is possible. Use the same technique as in the report column link.
Change the button target to URL and for the URL specify

How to arrange the regions in a page?

Hi,
I have 7 regions on a page. I used the built-in template to adjust them, such as the sequence number and column. However, if I wanted to broad or narrow the space between two regions horizontally or vertically. I couldnt' find the places. Please forgive me because I am html illterated. Can any one share some ideas with me?

Carl, I think I didn't make the things clear in my previous post. What I want, is to have the display locations of some regions are "fixed". For example. if we have 2 regions:
A B
Now the width of A is 100, the display location of B is from 105-125. When the width of A is changed from 100 to 150, then the display location of B is from 155~175. What I want is, to have the B always stays at 155 instead of 105 sometimes. I don't mind the change of A's width. By this, the layout looks more stable, instead of a "jumping" region B.

How to reference a region in another page?

Hi,
Say in page A there are a few regions defined (pl/sql, reports...)
A page B in the same application would like to have a few of those regions, exactly the same. Is it possible to reference/symlink to them or do they have to be re-created and maintained in two places?

That is exactly what Page 0 is designed for.
I agree that the fact that Page 0 components are magically processed by the SHOW engine is a little unexpected. The Page Definition page could put a (readonly?) stub on every page that that component would render on. But this is tricky to design. If you have setup your Page 0 components to conditionally render using some complex logic, you don't want the Builder running that logic every time it displays the Page Definition page!
Instead, the Page Event view could be enhanced to show Page 0 components as I suggested at Enhancement request: Include application-level events
If you do end up putting a report region on Page 0, please be aware of a bug as we discuss at Re: Report region on Page 0: Pagination issue

How do I restrict content provider edit rights to a single region on a page

We have a 2-level security requirement for Portal pages that are accessed by "the general public" - users that do not log into Portal. I'll call this population "The Public".
Top Level Edit Security
Web-masters need to edit all content on any page in any page group.
Sub-Level Edit Security
Content providers need to be restricted to editing HTML content within a single region on all pages within a single page group. They will use the RTE (FCKeditor) to edit the content of the restricted region.
One idea I tried was creating a nav page as a portlet and placing the portlet on the page. This seemed satisfied all the requirements. The drawback is having to create a new nav page for each page created. Since the content and pages are mostly static this does not seem, to me, to be a big deal.
I next tried Item level Security, created a group (publicusers) that included PUBLIC and ContentProvider users and granted "view" to the "publicusers" group . I found that "The Public" can see the entire page, except for the Text Item Type that is under Item Level Security. Only by turning off Item Level Security can "The Public" see Text Item Type. (This action seems to be supported in the documentation as well.)
Any other ideas on how to implement multi-level content security on pages within a page group? There will be at least 18 page groups, each with a unique content provider. The content provider can not edit content outside of their designated page group.

I would recommend creating pages for each "chunk" of content that needs specific security. Set the security at the page level.
Then, publish those pages as portlets, and stick those portlets in the regions that need "per group" edit rights. For each portlet, display the Edit link. Users who have rights to edit the portlet's source page will see the edit link, and can edit that content "in place".

I don't use the latest InDesign, but in the past ID's options for exporting to PDF did not allow setting how a PDF should be viewed once exported. However, these settings can be adjusted in Acrobat through Preferences: check out Page Layout and Zoom under Page Display.

How to use VO attribute in a page region in valueset of flex segment

I have a seeded oracle page - having 2 regiions
The first region shows basic employee information like job, position etc
The second region shows a flexfield having 4 segments.
My requirement is to restrict the value in first segment based on the employee's job.
e.g If employee is of Job A-, Segment 1 shoows the values as A.B.C in the poplist
if employee if of Job X, segment 1 has to show only values as AA, BB in the poplist
how can i use the vo attribute as paramter to my segment 1 valueset?

One way to achieve this is:
1.Make sgement 1 to show A.B.C in the poplist.
2.Create a new segment which shows AA, BB in the poplist. So now total no. of segments are 5.
3. In the second region in the page display only first 4 segments. For displaying only required segments refer "DEscriptive Flex Fields" in Dev Guide.
4. Create another region (3rd region) which displays segments 2 to 5. i.e. this does not show segment1
5. Using PPR display required region based on the value in Job field.
Note: this approach is suitable when you have very less no. of options in Job field to choose from.

How do I scroll illustrations that exceed the page height?

I have Digital Editions 4.? (It says 4.0 but it may be later,, I'm not sure). I'm using it to read an ePub book. Some illustrations exceed the page height and get truncated. I can't figure out how to scroll the illustration so I can see the entire thing. Any help?

There is currently no way to invoke JS within Reflow or add CSS Transitions. You could export the code

How to display region from one page on the other page?

I'd like to ask if someone know how to display region created on page X on page Y.
I've tried to create a "URL" region on Y but this doesn't work and I generally think this is blind way.
Next I've found an internal function "flows_020100.wwv_flow_disp_page_plugs()" that works pretty well (PL/SQL type region with calling the function) except that is displaying only regions on the same page. I know it's dirty hack but ...
Any ideas or hints how to solve this? Thanks ...

Yes, we do this by extending controller, but you can also try this without extending controller.
1. Create Submit Button on TableRN using personalization.
2. Set "Destination URI" property to like below
OA.jsp?page=/<yourname>/oracle/apps/ak/employee/webui/EmpDetailsPG&employeeNumber={@EmployeeId}&employeeName={@EmployeeName}&retainAM=Y&addBreadCrumb=Y
Give your custom page path instead of EmpDetailsPG.
EmployeeId and EmployeeName are VO attributes(Table Region)
If you dont have desired attribute in VO, then write logic in your custom page controller to get required value using parameters passed from URL path.
In this case, only personalization will do our job. Hope it helps.

More than one multi row update region on one page - how ?

Hi.
I have a page on which i want to use two multi row update regions ( updateable report with three buttons like new/delete/save ).
But i do not find a setting for the MRU-Process oder "Add-New-Line" Process that lets me reference this process to a specific region.
The problemm is, that after adding the second region to the page, the "Add-New-Line" - process only adds the new line to the second region and not to the first region anymore.
How can i make two processes where one adds a line to region1 and the second adds to region2. Same question is with updates too. How can i say that process on updates the changes in region1 and the other process updates the changes in region2 ?

Unfortunately, the builtin MRU process supports only 1 updatable region per page.
