How to search data in database which is in mixedcase

Hi,
I have to fetch data from database based on parameter value. The data stored in database is in mixed case. but while passing the parameter its converting it into uppercase. so the database search fails.
E.g Suppose the name in database is 'SANdeep'. On running the program when i pass the value as 'SANdeep' its converting it into "SANDEEP' and searches in the database. But my requirement is it should search as i entered i.e. 'SANdeep' because the data stored in the database is 'SANdeep'.
How to do it.

Hi sandeeo,
declare your parameter with Lower case addtion.
parameters p_name like ztab-name lower case.
This way, the system will not convert the parameter into upper case.

Hi PRAVIN,
What I can understand from your problem is that, you have a list with various properties and you want to display them and search them in your WD App. If I am correct, use the following approach:
Instead of using "details, owners, engine and Brand" Nodes, use the attributes inside the parent node. i.e in the node Car, add all the attributes viz. Mileage, Price, registration_no, miles_used, name, phnno,addr etc.
Now you can create a table of this node "Car" and can easily search on the basis of any criteria.

Hi ,
1.)You must have to create a EO based on custom table and then VO based on this EO eventually to save the values in DB
2.) the row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED); is used to set the the status of row as inialized ,this is must required.
3.) When u will create the VO based on EO the viewattributes will be created in VO which will be assigned to the fields to take care the db handling .
You must go thtough the lab excercise shipped with you Jdeveloper ,there is a example of Create Employee page ,that will solve your number of doubts.

As per my understanding are you looking for the complete API feature of data insertion into the database using the Locking Mechanism? If yes, then you need to create a Lock Object using the Primary keys of the Primary Table and Secondary Tables. You need to call the lock object first and then you need to make the entry into the table. This principle is based on 'All or None Concept'.

I am able to display data from database using servlet.
I am using MySQL as database.
But i want to display it more nicely using canvas. Right now i just print all the data's , it doent look professional.

hey listen i created midlet and servlet. I can see the record which is on my database but as i have just printed using servlet on the mobile screen. Now i want to display those records nore nicely that is . say for example

How to download Data from Database directly into excel

I have a requirement to download very large quantity of data from database into Excel file.
But condition is excel file should have only 65,536 rows in a single spread sheet(that's the limit i suppose),if i have more data points(rows) than it should be stored into different spreadsheet.......this continues so there can be many spread sheets in a single excel file.
Data size can be 1 GB or more.
Also specific naming conventions need to be followed for giving name to excel as well as different spread sheets in it.
Please see if someone could help me out.

This is be done as part of a web application which is to be made (so can't open the excel first)

The items in the JComboBox are displayed in the order in which you add them to the combo box. Use an order by clause in your SQL statement.

You can construct a DOM using this xml data and operate on it.
However you may explore more on resulting xml format.
A different SQL Query (rather than using XML RAW) may give output in a more desired format.

To retreive data for TOLERANZOB from QAMV,
If you know the key fields then use
SELECT SINGLE TOLERANZOB FROM QAMV INTO TOLERANZOB WHERE keyfields.
else, you can use
SELECT TOLERANZOB FROM QAMV UPTO ONE ROWS INTO TOLERANZOB WHERE....
Once you retreive the data using the select query, you can check if it is initial and if not move the data from TOLERANZOB to TOLERANZOB1.

One option: put your data into a JavaBean and then put that into the session. You can then access it from your JSP.
