How to send a mail to Lotus Notes R5 from Report Builder 3.0.5.8.0 ?

Dear sir,
I try to send a mail via Report Builder, and I got the following error message:
REP-4201:Error occured while initialzing the mail subsystem.
REP-4202:There is the problem with
the mail System.
We use the Lotus Notes R5 mail, not Microsoft Outlook or exchange. Could the Report Builder support it?
Thanks.
Lisa

Hi!
1. Make sure no one else has opened the same file.
2. Dont put image on your report.

  • HOWTO: send a mail through Lotus notes by Java Code

    Dear All,
I have requirement with me, where i have to write a java code which will send a mail from lotus notes .
Could you please provide me sample source code and different options for implementing this .

Generally, whatever program you use to read mail, it will ultimately be sent by a "Mail Transfer Agent" which understand SMTP. I've got Lotus Notes here as my mail reader, but when my programs send mail they use java mail, and send the mail as SMTP using the appropriate mail server (sometimes called the "smart host"). It the mail is for my mailbox the MTA then forwards it to the Lotus Notes mail store.

  • Cannot send outgoing mail via Lotus Notes

Just installed Lotus Notes 6.5 on my PC (Win XP Pro SP3).  Have no problems receiving email ... just cannot send.  I keep getting same error msg:
"SMTP Protocol returned a permanent error.  Failed with outgoing.verizon.net"
    Does anyone have a solution?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Make sure that you have the outgoing server, outgoing.verizon.net as an authenticated server.  You will need your Verizon Online username and password.  The Verizon Online username/password is set up differently than FiOS - I didn't get one of these accounts until I called and requested one.

Thanks guys for all your support.
I have this working now. I did a
fresh install for oracle reports and it worked for me.
For sure its working now i can't gurantee
in future. I will conclude this after testing this for couple of days.
    Anyway thanks once agian,

I had very similar issues with my reports builder except that the Dr. Watson happened every where (even while just invoking reports builder) - opening the layout editor when graphics were involved, running the report, using the chart wizard, etc.
I opened a TAR on this with Support. Their response? We can't reproduce it on our computer so bad luck and good bye.
All I ask is that the reports team give us something to be able to provide some kind of function call trace information when the Dr. Watson does occur.
I use patchset 5a. Also, btw, I tried to run a report with graphics on Solaris from the builder and guess what? It core-dumped. Any way to send you guys trace files from there atleast?
Calling support is not an acceptable solution.

    hello,
i am not quite sure, what you want to achieve. did you try the DESFORMAT=HTMLCSS which generates inline-style-information.

  • Sending mail to LOTUS NOTES inbox.

    Hi all,
I am working on WORKFLOWS and i need to send a mail to lotus notes inbox. I have got the function module to send the mail.I Created a method for sending the mail. But Where and how to impletement this method in the work flow.
Please through some light on this.
    Regards,

As Thomas pointed out, you can use regular SMTP mail to send the contents to Lotus Notes. You can use the function module SO_OBJECT_SEND or any of the SAP Office function modules to do this.
Only thing to remember is that the SMTP may have been disabled by your basis team due to security risks involved. An alternative could be a lotus notes connector available from IBM.

  • Query not running in report builder 3.0

hi, i can run my query in mgmt studio (version 2008R2) and within the query designer of report builder 3.0 but it will not run from report builder. i get a generic error message of "an error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)".
the query uses report parameters and is written with dynamic sql (using a pass-through to oracle). any ideas why the query doesn't execute in report builder ? thanks a bunch,

    Hi KanataPablo,
According to your description, it seems that you are using linked server to pass value to oracle. Seeing that the query is worked well in Management Studio, you may have the permission to connect to oracle (In this scenario, make sure the users to run the
query in SSMS and Report Builder are the same user). So this issue can be caused by the user’s permission to connect to report server, the credential of data source and the dynamic query.
We can add the current user as a Login, then click Properties and navigate to User Mappings page, enable ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB options.
We can try to type user name and password, and enable “Use as Windows credentials” as the credential used to connect to data source.
    Try with dynamic query:
    ="Select column1, column2 From tableName where ID IN (" + JOIN(Parameters!param1.value, ",") + ")"
    Hope this helps.

  • Out of office message when sending mail to Lotus Notes from SAP

    Hi,
Is it possible to have an 'out of office' message when sending mail to Lotus Notes from SAP?
I'm sending account statements by mail via a modified version of function FI_OPT_ARCHIVE_CORRESPONDENCE. The SAP username is send as a parameter, and later converted to the e-mail saved in the user profile. This works, - but I would like to have an out of office reply if the user I send to is out of office.
    Hope someone can help...

  • Sending HTML email to Lotus Notes

    Guys,
We have to send en email to our customers in an intra net site. And our SMTP server is Lotus Notes. When ever I send html email, it is sent as attachment. Here is why that happens with html email:
    http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&uid=swg21088385
Now I am looking for alternative ways to send html email using Java Mail to Lotus Notes client. My last option is RTF or plain text. But still how do I manager the URL links.
    Thanks

Well, It sounds like you already answered your own question.
    Answer
In Domino 6.x and later, the following notes.ini settings are enabled by default for any user that has a setting of
"Prefers Notes Rich Text" in the "Format preference for incoming mail" field in the user's Person document:
    MIME_Convert_HTML_To_Attachment=1
MIME_Convert_Alternates=0No matter what you code on your side. If you send your messages as HTML the Lotus Notes Mail Server will convert the the HTML to Attachments.

    Hi Nicolas!
Have you tried to set "Output Format" for "RAW Text" to HTM in SCOT.
If HTM is missing in your dropdown-list, you could check out table SXCONVERT2. Copy the line with category T/format TXT, and change the format from TXT to HTM. The existing function
SX_OBJECT_CONVERT__T.TXT does not need to be changed. Now you should be able to choose HTM in SCOT. You will probably need som HTML-tags in your text to make it look good.
    Hope this helps!

  • How to send external mails to the user

    Dears,
How to send external mails to the user who creates the sales document (Quotation)
Can you please suggest what modification required in the FM
    Thanks,
    pinky

You can have a partner function like 'Created by' and use an exit to populate the User ID to this partner function(dont have the system right now but i think this can be done with standard partner detr. procedure also)
Then, create an Output type for that Partner function with transmission medium as 'External Send'. You can use the standard SAP program to trigger the email. To send the actual email after the output is trigerred, the link connection has to be set up be BASIS but if you want to check, then goto SOST and see if the email got trigerred or not.
