How to send Vector to Servlet?
hi~~
i want know that method of communicate form applet to Servlet.
So far as I am concerned, Applet can't use I/O because of security.. but it can communicate with Servlet of calling the Applet.
then, for example Vector.... How can send Vector to Servlet..
The same way you send anything to a servlet, and the same way you send a vector to anywhere! You can do it a few ways, here's the one you'll see most of the time:
URL servletURL = new URL(getDocumentBase(), "/servlet/myServlet");
// Hope it's HTTP. You probably should use instanceof before casting here.
HttpURLConnection conn = (HttpURLConnection)servletURL.openConnection();
conn.setDoOutput(true);
ObjectOutputStream out = new ObjectOutputStream(conn.getOutputStream());
out.writeObject(myVector);

How to send Oracle rowid to servlet? | Problem with national characters.
There is same possibility how to send rowid to servlet?
I have now definition like this:
<af:image source="/imageservlet?Par1=#{bindings.Col1.inputValue}"/>
But If column contents national characters, servlet methods obtained changed these characters.
My idea is to use not primary key for row, but use oracle rowid. It is simply possible?
Use something like this:
<af:image source="/imageservlet?Rowid=#{bindings.Rowid}"/
Or Do you have ideas how to solve problem with national characters ?
Thanks
FiLHi,
Although your workaround works.
I think this is a simple encoding problem.
I simply need to make sure all parameters and pages are encoded with a char set which contains the national characters you mentioned.
This is a bit dependent on the exact technology your using, but most can be done via the web.xml:
<jsp-config>
<jsp-property-group>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
<page-encoding>UTF-8</page-encoding>
</jsp-property-group>
</jsp-config> This forces all JSP pages to be encoded in UTF-8
Adding the following parameter sometimes helps as well, although I think this one is a bit dated:
You said your using a servlet so your servlet needs a similar block for its pattern
<context-param>
<param-name>PARAMETER_ENCODING</param-name>
<param-value>UTF-8</param-value>
</context-param>If you want to be 100% sure the encoding is set right make sure thepages contain:
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=utf-8"%>Or depending on your view technology the syntax can be a bit different

How to send XML via HTTPS in Servlet
I am new to Java. I need to make a servlet which can send a message via HTTPS with a content type of XML to another web server when it is called. each msg is proceeded with a header in the following format:
requestID=rid&userID=uid&password=mypd
and a detail information in XML:
<S_Request>
<requestControllID>1-rf200</requestControlID>
<zipCode>99012</zipCode>
<orderQuantity>35</orderQuantity>
</S_Request>
I have basic idea of how to send an http post with parameter string by using the Redirect function but don't know how to deal with the XML detail. Any one has idea about this? Any help will be greatly appreciated!This is what I did for one of my projects;
String myXML = "all the xml tags and fields";
URL url = new URL("https://www.somesite.com");
HttpsURLConnection connection = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
connection.setDoOutput(true);
OutputStream outXML = connection.getOutputStream();
outXML.write(myXML.getBytes());
I think you can add the requestID and all to the begining of the string myXML
Good luck

How to go back on page by not sending request to servlet
Hello,
I have create web application using JSP and servlets. When I press a button I send request to servlet and it redirects me to jsp page where the results are displayed, then in that page I press a button and go to other servlet which redirects me to other JSP.
I want to make a button on the third JSP page to go back to second JSP page by not sending request to servlet. For e.g. in FireFox, I press back button and it takes me back. But I want that the same action like in firefox would work with my created button.
How can I do that?

You wnat your created button to act the same as the "back" button in the browser?Yes, thats exactly what I need.
Then all you need to do is invoke some javascript on it.
After a quick google search, the most commonly suggested solution appears to be:
onclick="history.go(-1)"

How to send array of bytes to a servlet and store it in a file
Hi,
How to send array of bytes to a servlet and store it in a file.
I am new to Servlets. if possible for any one, please provide the code.
Thanks,
cmblThrough HTTP this is only possible with a POST request of which the encoding type is set to multipart/form-data. You can use Apache Commons FileUpload to parse such a multipart form data request into useable elements. From the other side (the client) you can use a HTML <input type="file"> element or a Java class with Apache Commons PostMethod API.

How can I run a servlet with Sun Java System Application Server PE 8?
I've created a package with a TestServlet.class inside, used the deploytool to create a WAR and deployed this using the autodeploy folder.
The filestructure has been generated and I find the TestServlet.class in
[installdir]\domains\domain1\applications\j2ee-modules\testProject\WEB-INF\classes\[packagefolderstructure]\TestServlet.class.
The context root is working fine, but I have no clue how I can run the servlet directly via the URL.
I've tried many things like
http://localhost:8080/testProject/TestServlet
http://localhost:8080/testProject/servlet/TestServlet
http://localhost:8080/testProject/servlet/[packagenamewithpoints]TestServlet
http://localhost:8080/testProject/servlet/[packagenamewithslashes]TestServlet
etc etc
Can somebody tell me please how to write URLs to deployed servlets? Or send me an example url and xml descriptor files?
Thanks a lot in advance!in web.xml use servlet mapping
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>TestServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/doit</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>then use http://localhost:8080/testProject/doit -

have a look at this
You can use Java/ABAP proxies to do this job for you..
Java Proxy >> will read the mail(with the attachments) with the help of Java APIs and send the message into XI ABAP Proxy >> for this you will have to first convert the attachment into a message and then you can proceed in the regular fashion.
Not all adapters can process attachments, I'm not sure why you are having trouble with using module processor in the mail adapter. Just check if the service pack that you are using supports this feature.
If you are on WAS 6.10 and above you can achieve this and there is an excellent weblog by Thomas Jung on this topic at

reading Pdf Through mail easly done with Java Proxy, which will read the mail(with the attachments) with Java APIs and send the message into XI and then map with the Target ABAP proxy structure .
