How to set PDF Job option using FDK11?

Hi,
I have a tool to convert Framebook into PDF and this works good. But the generated pdf is not of the same size as it is generated through FrameMaker Save as PDF. With the FrameMaker API, I get a dialog box to choose the different PDF Job options available. I came across a similar provision with FDK which also has a property to set the PDF Job options but it doesnt work as expected. Please correct me if my approach is wrong.

As far as I know, the only way to specify PDF options is by programmatically displaying the PDF Options dialog (via WinAPI calls), "selecting" the options and "pressing" the OK button. There have been numerous discussions on this topic on the Yahoo frame_dev group ..

You may be able to set the options as you're doing, but I don't think they are "set" until you display the dialog and "press" the OK button.

There is no such option in BB 10.
However, you can achieve a similar result by setting your email sync timeframe to 14 days (the closest option).
If you are using an ActiveSync account (such as Hotmail, Outlook.com), go to Settings > Accounts > select the account. Tap advanced at the bottom of the screen. Scroll to the very bottom, tap Sync Timeframe and set to 14 days.
If you are using an IMAP account (such as Gmail or GMX), you will have to delete, then re-add your account. The Sync Time frame is only avaialble during setup for these accounts. When adding, tap advanced at the bottom of the screen and set the Sync Timeframe.

If you are assigning a Value which is not in the Choice Column, You need to create a choice value then assign it to the item.

Thanks, David. i thought i had it set correctly in Preferences in L&R. Being i was wearing my suspenders and belt at the same time i went back to L&R, cleared what was there and re-entered same to include unchecking and rechecking Time Format fgor 24-hour time. It works now. Thanks again.

How to set XPoweredByHeaderLevel to NONE using wlst (by default the value is SHORT).
I mean, I have created a domain using wlst.
Now I want to set XPoweredByHeaderLevel of WebAppContainerMBean to NONE using wlst.
It will be helpful if a sample python(Jython) script is provided.
Please help.

Here is a quick Jython example of how to do what you want:

How to add/change Job Options when saving a FrameMaker document as a PDF using Acrobat 9

If you are logged on as a domain user you could have a problem if you want to add or edit .joboption files in Distiller 9 when it is opened by FrameMaker.
After installing Acrobat 9 the action of saving a FrameMaker document as a PDF automatically starts Distiller 9 which then uses the "Job Options" files that are located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings. Unless some changes have been made to the "Security" settings of the "Adobe" folder and the "Adobe PDF" folder under "All Users" it will not be possible to add or edit ".joboption" files in the "Settings" folder located in that "Adobe PDF" folder.
This can be confusing because when Distiller 9 is started separately, from Programs, it then uses the job options located in your own user folder (C:\Documents and Settings\NLPW\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings). In your own user folder (in my case: NLPW) you can add or edit the job option files.
In order to be able to add or edit job option files under "All Users" you must be included in the "All Users" list and have the appropriate "Permissions" security setting. To set this, right click on the "Adobe" folder (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe) and select "Properties", then click on the "Security" tab and add yourself to the list. Finally, (important) check the "Full Control" box under "Allow" in the permissions field. Repeat this procedure on the "Adobe PDF" folder (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF). Now you have the ability to add or edit ".joboption" files located in the "Settings" folder and these will be available when Distiller is started by FrameMaker.

Thank you so much for that tip. I don’t have exactly the same set-up (FrameMaker 8, Acrobat 8 Professional), but changing the permissions as you describe fixed the problem of not being able to save or change Distiller job options which has been bothering me for a while.

How to setting the printing option in javafx 2.1 or later?

We need to printing pdf document in our project, it's can use the open source to do it now, but it's has some problem when running the program in other pc.
Step 1, It's setting the program with full screen in our program.
Step 2, In the button event, we call JDK swing print dialog to setting the page option.
They will not bring the swing frame to front, and the Javafx program unable to response cause by the swing printdialog.
If anybody know how to deal with the paper option setting by Javafx, Please help me, thanks a lot.

You can export applications you develop there for use on Oracle Application Express versions 2.0 and higher which can be used with Oracle Database server versions 9.2.0.3 and higher.
Electing to install an application as Run Application Only will prevent the editing of the application definition by the end user. This can be useful if you assume that the end user will have access to the Application Builder in his database, which is likely if the end user's database is Oracle Database 10g Express Edition (XE). However, there is no way to prevent an XE user from having complete control over applications installed into those databases. If the end user's database is not XE, then only an Oracle Application Express site administrator will be able to change the application's Run Application Only setting to Run and Build Application but all developers with developer accounts in the Application Builder will be able to view and edit the application definition.
Further, when you say "he can easily access my code", remember that the application definition is contained completely within the export file that you distribute but you may have in mind your PL/SQL source code as well. PL/SQL can be wrapped using a utility to make it more difficult to see in clear text.

How to set swing to support using vrml/external/browser ?

When doing applets with AWT to call vrml/external/browser.getbrowser, it works. But if update to use swing instead of awt, applets always cannot say: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: vrml/external/Browser.
The html file containing this applet is converted by command : java HTMLConverter **.html .And also using java1.3.1plug-in.
But if removing java plug-in and add ---ARCHIVE="Swing.jar"---- into **.html source code without using java HTMLConverter. The applet works.
While, this way can let applet work, but thus, the applet cannot connect to mysql database.
So, anyone knows how to set up swing in applet when using converted **.html with javaplugin? ???

I am using Struts 2. I am building my file in ActionClass with seperate Method like getGeneratedPDF() in which, I am setting header of response and writing into PDF.
This method will be called from JSP by this way
s:property value="getGeneratedPDF()" />
But It displayed Junk Characters , and this PDF is not static (already Generated). It is generated and build on Fly.
I have 2 questions 1 -- How to display PDF in JSP in proper way without Junk Character in it?
questions 2 -- How to display it in Iframe?
Please help me , If you know the solution.

You can display it standalone, just let the link/form/addressbar URL point to some Servlet which writes the InputStream of the PDF file to the OutputStream of the response, along with a correct set of response headers (at least content-type, content-disposition and content-length), so that the browser can open it in the correct application (which is usually Acrobat Reader). If you want to embed the PDF file in a JSP, then one of the ways is indeed using the HTML <iframe> tag.

I tried using TYPE S DISPLAY LIKE E and am setting vim_abort_saving as X and sy-subrc as 4. However, this is also not enabling the fields. In this case, the first 2 fields - key fields are getting enabled but not the required ones. The above snapshot is for the same.

Setting pdf printer settings use framemaker FDK

I am trying to create a framemaker client that will save a book as a pdf file. This client will do all the steps automatically and will be activated nightly on a build server.
My problem is that when I use the command F_ApiSave() with the arguments set so that the file will be correctly saved, I get an error in framemaker that says I must set the PDF printer property: "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts." to off. This option is already set to off by default, but my client must be changing it to on.
Is there any way to change this option using the Framemaker API in C on windows?

How to change value
i have tried using setValue method of both binding property and value property of htmlSelectOneMenu.
Same issue is with InputTextArea. how to set value in it via code(RowSelectionListener of icefaces)

You have to change the value of that backing bean, not the JSF component directly. JSF takes care of updating the model, you shouldn't be touching it unless you know what you are doing.
