How to set the properties of plots in XY graph via VI Scripting
Hi,
Is there any way out to change the properties of XY graph plots through VI Scripting?
From main VI, I create an XY graph in another VI through VI scripting. I now want to change the Plot legend names, and their styles etc. I notice that these properties can be set up in the new VI (See screen shot Graph Property Node in NEW VI.jpg). However, I couldn't see these properties by calling the property node of XY graph reference in main VI (see screen shot ).
Thanks for the due response.
Regards
HB

Hello HB,
I see plot.names when I scroll down a bit further. No scripting required.
Hope this helps.

How to set the out point beyond 9.95 seconds???
how to set the out point in Motion 5 beyond 9.95 seconds???
First you need to make sure your project is long enough then you can adjust the play range (in/out). To make sure the project is long enough:
1. From the project properties (command-J) go to the Duration field and enter a new duration.
2. Click on the down arrow icon to the right of the current time, there is an option to show the project duration. Once set to this you can double click the number and type in a new project duration. I'd recommend setting it back to show current time when done.
3. Of course you can also change the duration of a project when it is first created, in the project browser.
Once you're sure you have a long enough project you can adjust the in and out range. You then use the zoom controls in the bottom of the timeline to show more of the timeline and adjust the play range as needed. There's lots more about project and play range duration adjustments in the documentation: http://help.apple.com/motion/mac/5.1/ -

Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte: How to set the output path for classes ?
Help !
Beginner's question:
Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte:
How to set the output path for classes ?
As default, the class files are created in the same directory as the
sources.
In opposite, both JBuilder and Together support that there is a tree
with the sources and another tree with the classes.
The first answer I got was "not possible with Forte, but just if you write your own "ANT Build script" !
a) Please point me to a ready-to-use ANT script for this purpose, if such is available
b) Is using ANT instead of the MAKE as comfortable ? Besides the separation of sourcecode and classes, I would like to keep everything else to be the same, i.e. I dont want to edit the ANT file if I enlarge the project by directories or files.
Tia
Sincerely
RolfYou can set S1S's options to place newly created .class files in a specific location.
Identify the compiler that is being used - Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Editing and select Java Sources. Note the Default Compiler value. (If it's one if the Ant options, you use Ant to specify this option, not S1S.)
Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Building/Compiler Types and select the appropriate compiler.
The Properties tab of the compiler has the property Target, which sets the filesystem where the compiler output is directed. If you choose <not set>, the .class files are written to their source directory.
When you set the Target, your change affects all classes that use this compiler.
Very few options can't be set in S1S; the challenge is finding out where they're set! -
How to make the properties visible for a bean in IDE?
Hi,
I have a jpanel and have two buttons ,OK and cancel inside it.
I made this class as a bean, and put in the component palette of IDE.
Now when i click and drop that bean in a frame., and try to set the properties, the IDE will be giving me only the outer component which is a JPanel properties,
I want to work with the properties of inner components OK and Cancel.
How can i acheive this?Yes, Write wrapper methods for the properties you are interested in. Introspection does not examine beans which are declard in a class in IDEs, IT only follows an inheritence tree.
So if you have a button and want it to be visible in your new bean, you will have to expose the properties of the bean again using wrapper methods. You could use the propertyChange model to notify the button on property changes. -

How to set the view privilege of a portlet?
Dear all,
I would like to ask how to set the view privilege of a portlet (which is located on the Intranet homepage) to only a group of users?
As far as I know, I can create a tab with view privilege to address the about scenario. But is it possible to directly set the view privilege to the portlet ?
thanks

georgelkhOK, you got me there George. I don't know where you can set view rights to an out of box portlet. So how about a different approach?
1) Create a blank page with no nav bar or anything else
2) Assign the group you want to see the notifications portlet view rights on the page
3) Make sure the show as portlet check box is checked on the Optional tab in the page properties
4) Add the notifications portlet to the page
5) Ensure the portlet settings are how you desire in terms of what notifications to show and the region settings are how they should be in terms of border, headers, etc
6) Edit the page where you want the notifications portlet to be shown and add the page portlet you just created instead of the notification portlet
This should achieve what you seek without having to dig into out-of-box portlets.

How to set the default NetworkInterface for the default socket factory?
Hi,
I would like to know how to set the default network interface used by the JVM. I saw that you can specify the network interface when creating a socket. But my problem is that I dont want to change every socket creation in the application and even worse some partner's libraries wich I dont have access to code also create sockets. So is there a way to specify to the JVM wich interface to use by default? I didn't saw any System.properties to set this and my googling fishing didn't return anything usefull.
ThanksBy default it will use whichever one the routing tables tell it will give the shortest path to the destination. For globabl changes, adjust your routing tables. You can't do this from Java, you have to use whatever OS tools are to hand.

How to set the field non-editable in the classical report..
Hi..
How to set the field non-editable in the classical report..Hi experts,
For the component 'ICCMP_EMP_SRCH' there is a view 'BUPAEMPSEARCH' , which has 2 context nodes 'CUSTOMER' AND 'SEARCHEMPLOYEE' , i need to add the field 'NICKNAME' which is part of the 'CUSTOMER' context node on the search screen. Currrently all the fields on the screen screen are from the 'SEARCHEMPLOYEE' context node. when i did the configuration , the 'NICKNAME' field is greyed out . I have already generated the Getter ,Setter , GET_I, GET_M methods for the 'NICKNAME' field and the context node and controller class and context class are all active .
on debugging the GET_I method, i see that rv_disabled = 'TRUE' and the current = collection_wrapper->get_current( ) is returning empty value .
for this rv_disabled to be set false , the code below is not triggered since there is no value in current.
IF current->is_property_readonly(
'NICKNAME' ) = abap_false. "#EC NOTEXT
rv_disabled = 'FALSE'.
ENDIF.
when i check for other search fields of context node 'SEARCHEMPLOYEE' , all the fields are set to rv_disabled = 'FALSE'.
can anyone suggest how to approch this. iam i missing any binding between context nodes or any activations ?
The field properties are set as Input field and the display checkbox is not checked. -
How to set the oracle oci8 driver?

best regardsHello, Jenny I am glad you found your resolution. I too am having problems isung
the oracle 0CI8 driver. My connection pool is creating fine, but my server is
crashing with JVM errors.
Here are my configurations.
DBase=Oracle 8.1.7,OS=Win2000, running 6.1 with Portal 4.0
pool config =
<JDBCConnectionPool CapacityIncrement="0"
DriverName="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver" InitialCapacity="5"
MaxCapacity="5" Name="ccConPool"
Properties="jdbc.url=jdbc:oracle:oci8:@servername:1521:orcl;user=XXXXX;password=XXXXXX;dll=ocijdbc8;server=orcl;protocol=oci8;dll=ocijdbc8;protocol=oci8"
RefreshMinutes="0" Targets="portalServer"
TestTableName="WIP_TABLE" URL="jdbc:oracle:oci8:@servername"/>
My classpath sets my classes12.zip file first. My path sets %WEBLOGIC_HOME%\bin\oci817_8
and %WLCS_ORACLE_HOME%\bin.
Am I setting the right dll and protocol in my .dll? Where can I find documentation
on these properties definitions?

in

Its not CLASS_PATH it should be CLASSPATH.
when you say oracle\bin and oracle\lib , on what driver is the oracle
folder?I meant to say 'on what drive' not 'on what driver'
you have to specify the full path.
post your startup script here.

1. Dont copy this file oci8jdbc.dll, to bin folder. Make sure
you
place
<oracle_home>\lib in your PATH before starting the server. Make
sure
your
ORACLE_HOME environment varable is set to <oracle_home> folder.
eg. set ORACLE_HOME=c:\ora816 before starting the server.
so you must have done something like
set ORACLE_HOME=c:\ora816
set PATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\bin;%ORACLE_HOME%\lib;%PATH%
2. double check if you set your CLASSPATH something like this,
CLASSPATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip;%CLASSPATH%
in the server startup script just before starting the server.
3. start the server the connection pool should work.

To use oracle oci8 driver:
You should have classes12.zip in weblogic classpath.
You should have ocijdbc8.dll in your weblogic path..
You can download ocijdbc8.dll from oracle website.

How to set the sampling interval using DAQ device?
Now I have a capacity sensor and a 24 bit DAQ device (http://www.mccdaq.com/usb-data-acquisition/USB-2404-10.aspx).
The DAQ device has the maximum sampling rate of 50kS/s . My question is how to set the interval of data collection. For example, if I set the sampling rate to 2000, in continuous sampling mode, I use DAQmx read.vi in a while loop and set the 'number of samples per channel' to 100. I want to plot these data as a function of time by using a XY graph and also save these data. So I add a 'Mean' function to get the average of the 100 samples per each loop (than means, there are 20 data output per second). But when I set the 'number of samples per channel' much smaller (to get more data per second), there are some problems. It seems that the program cannot read so many data and get the average at a higher frequency. I don't know where the problem is. All in all, how to collect data more frequently?Maybe I didn't express my question clearly. I'll upload a simple program later if necessary. Thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Another question is in continuous mode, NI DAQmx uses Samples per channel to determine the buffer size. But according to the website you specified, it says if the acquisition is continuous (sample mode on the DAQmx Timing.vi is set to Continuous Samples), NI-DAQmx will allocate a buffer according to the following table. And for sample rate between 100 - 10,000 S/s, the buffer size is 10 kS. So if I set the sample rate to be 5000 S/s, and set the Samples per channel to be 20000, then what exactly the buffer size is? 20 kS or 10 kS?
Thanks.
