  • How to setup ODBC query with schema

I am trying to setup DIAdem to query a SQLserver database that was orginally created by Rockwell's Historian (a PLC database). This database is structured around a schema called "RSBizWare". To properly query the database, this schema name must be in the naming structure. I have been attemping to use some of the SQL examples posted in this forum but I cannot figure out how to include this schema field. Any help would ba appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi RandallW,
You have two options, you can set up a Windows ODBC Administrator profile that successfully applies the required schema, then use the DIAdem ODBC functions, which all start with SQL_...(), or you can construct an ADO connection string which successfully applies the required schema, the use native Windows ADO objects in a VBScript to query the data base.  If both are available, and you have DIAdem 10.1 or higher, I would recommend the ADO approach.  I really don't know how to tell you to apply this schema in your connection to your data base.  Do you have any other software that can connect to that data base?  There may be information on connecting to that data base available on the web.  Once you can connect to it, we can help you use that connection in DIAdem.

  • How to setup a query plan in effective at any time for SP or SQL query?

I have a SP which include a group by SQL statement. It retrieve data from a couple of tables which are over 1G size,
When I run this SP at first time, it take more than 5 minutes to get the result. then I run it again and again, Finally, it become very quick, I can get the result within second.
Not sure why. I guess it is because of query plan.
How to make it running at first time to get result within second? How to force a better best query plan in effective at first time to run the query?
If the engine has better plan in memory, could it be lost at some point? because I have the complain from end user said some times it is fast, sometime it is very slow.
    How to resolve this problem?

  • How to setup an LDAP filter in OpenDirectory

    Hello,
I hope I am posting to the right forum.
I have an existing central directory managed by LDAP.
The users can authenticate against my LDAP server.
In the LDAP directory, the users have a special attribute, making a list of machines and services they can or cannot access.
How to configure OpenDirectory to apply a filter to the LDAP records, so only users with a given value (lets say "macosx" in a given attribute) can authenticate?
For example, on another machine (FreeBSD) I have the following in pal_ldap configuration:
    nssbasepasswd ou=People,ou=csim,dc=cs,dc=ait,dc=ac,dc=th?one?csimAccountPermission=sambalogin
where csimAccountPermission=sambalogin is the filter and only users with that key will be able to use samba service.
    TIA,
    Olivier

  • How to setup Inline Filter?

    Hi Folks,
Can you tell me how to setup an Inline filter (Embedded in the analysis) compare to Named filter in analysis?
    Thanks,

    Refer this doc..

Inline filter is nothing but Filters saved along with Analysis &these are not saved as a separate object in the My folders or shared folders as a subject area content, if it savedcthen we will call it as Named filter.

  • How can I use a variable in webi query filter

I created a webi report using the fiscal year/month(period) field as a filter to show a window of 18 periods.  The report works just as requested using a between filter on fiscal period with prompts for both the start and ending periods.  Now I'd like to calculate the start period based on what was entered in the prompt for the ending period (e.g. enter 201106 for the TO prompt on the between statement and have the FROM statement filled in as 201001.)  I can create variables in the report to display both the user response to the ending period prompt and the calculated starting period, but I cannot figure out how to incorporate that calculated starting date into the FROM side of the between query filter.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Doug
Sorry I got my froms and to's mixed up in the first draft. Edited by: Doug Roswold on Mar 4, 2011 6:27 PM

Let me understand what you want to do.  You don't want to use two prompts, just one, insn't it?
    I mean, instead of:
    Filter area:
Date between "From prompt" to "To Prompt"
    You want something like:.
    Filter area:
Date between Variable  to "To Prompt"
if I'm not wrong that's not possible to achieve in Webi Query  Panel.
Can you modify your universe? The only way to achieve it is modifying your universe, creating your formula in the universe and assigning it to an object, so you can use this new object in your filter area like this:
Date between MyUniverseObject  to "To Prompt"

  • How to write this query to filter combination of few values

    Hi,
I have a table CHIMM which is a transaction table and contains information of the vaccines given to a child.
columns are: child_id, vacc_id, vacc_given_dt. I have to query for remaining vaccines.
HEXA is a vaccine_id which is composite vaccine of DPT1,POL1,HBV1 & HIB1 (vaccine ids).
I want to write to query if any of DPT1,POL1,HBV1 & HIB1 given then HEXA should not be displayed in the result.
    OR
if HEXA is given then of course any of DPT1,POL1,HBV1 & HIB1 should not be displayed in the result.
    How to write this query?
    Regards

    Hi,
I'm still not sure what the output you want from that sample data is. Do you just want the child_ids, like this
    CHILD_ID
           3
4? If so, here's one way to get them:
    WITH     all_vacc_ids     AS
         SELECT     c.child_id
         ,     c.vacc_id          AS child_vacc_id
         ,     v.vacc_id
         ,     COUNT ( CASE
                             WHEN  c.vacc_id = 'HEXA'
                       THEN  1
                         END
                    )       OVER ( PARTITION BY  c.child_id
                                       )    AS hexa_itself
         FROM          vacc   v
LEFT OUTER JOIN     chimm  c     PARTITION BY (c.child_id)
                          ON     c.vacc_id     = v.vacc_id
WHERE   v.vacc_desc       = 'HEXA'     -- See note below
    SELECT       child_id
    FROM       all_vacc_ids
    WHERE       child_vacc_id     IS NULL
      AND       vacc_id     != 'HEXA'
      AND       hexa_itself     = 0
    GROUP BY  child_id
rha2 wrote:there are alot of vaccines, i just put 3 for example. this query gives error: invalid relational operatorAre you saying that the vacc table contains other rows, but those other rows are not needed for this problem? It would be good if you included an example in the sample data. The query above considers only the rows in vacc where vacc_desc='HEXA'. You can have other rows in the vacc table, but they won't affect the output of this query. The query above makes no assumptions about the number of rows that have vacc_desc='HEXA'; it will report all child_ids who are missing any of them, regardless of the number (assuming the child does not have the 'HEXA' vacc_id itself, like child_id=1).
You still haven't said which version of Oracle you're using. The query above will work in Oracle 10 (and higher).

Any time you would like to explore this further run this code:
    SELECT 1 FROM dual
WHERE regexp_like(' ','^*[ ]*a');but not on a production box because you are going to experience an extreme tuning event with zero i/o.
And when I say "extreme" I mean "EXTREME!"
You've been warned.I think you just need a faster server.

I am not sure that this is a good example - the query either executes very fast, or never has a chance to start executing. But, it might still make your point physical I/O is not always the problem when performance problems are experienced.

  • How to create a WMI filter in order to apply to machines that have Skype already installed with deploying a newer version of Skype

    Hi there,
I was wondering whether anybody could tell me how to create a WMI filter in order to apply to machines that have Skype already installed with deploying a newer version of Skype.
Your help would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Timbuctoo

    Hi,
    To create a WMI filter
1.In the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) console tree, right-click
WMI Filters in the forest and domain in which you want to create a WMI filter.
    2.Click
    New .
    3.In the
New WMI Filter dialog box, type a name for the new WMI Filter in the
Name box, and type a description of the filter in the Description box.
    4.Click
    Add .
    5.In the
WMI Query dialog box, either leave the default namespace (root\CIMv2) or enter another namespace by doing one of the following:
    ◦ In the
Namespace box, type the name of the namespace that you want to use for the WMI query.
    ◦ Click
Browse , select a namespace from the list, and then click
    OK .
6.Type a WMI query in the
Query box, and then click OK .
7.To add more queries, repeat Steps 4 through 6 to add each query.
    8.After adding all queries, click
    Save .
In the Query box, type the following WMI query:
Select * from Win32_Product where Name LIKE “%Skype%”

  • Adding a list in Service Mananger Query Filter

    In this post:
    http://www.concurrency.com/blog/service-manager-request-query-result-filtering/
" The trick was to setup the simple list to include no initial results, which provided very fast form load and quick search
    result return speeds. "
They have a list or a prompt in their query filter. Is there a site anywhere that explains what this is, or where to do this? I'm absolutely baffled and searching provides no documentation but sky-high level overviews.

Lets say you want to filter users based on department. You'll end up with two questions in your service offiering
Department to search in. refresh the next question after changing this value.
    User.
the first question contains a simple list (see the table at
This Blog Post for more details on that)
    [null]
    LegitDepartment1
    LegitDepartment2
    LegitDepartment3
    ETC...
the second question is your actual query result question. The Criteria on this is going to compare the user's department to the results of the first question. >when the form loads, it going to run the following query:
    System.User where Department = [Null]
Since there are no users with a null department, this result will be empty and return immediately.
Then, the user goes down, hits the right department, and then hits refresh on the second question and gets the correct users, clicks the right one, and goes on with their life.

  • Bex Query Filter Page in BSP - Urgent Please...

I have seen many threads about Bex query in BSP, but can any one tell me how can i display the default Bex Query Filter page in BSP.
I created a query in Bex Query Designer and added few filters and when i execute i get a popup where i can enter the input values for which the report would be generated, can i get the same functionality or similar functionality if i have the same Bex query in BSP.
Also apart from the filters specified in the Bex, all the columns displayed in the report appears in the filter section how can get the same functionality BSP.
Note: I do not want to use Bex Web Application Designer
Please tell me the steps for the same.
Atleast please give me the steps at a high level. Please...

    Hi,
    1.  Create a CKF, inside the CKF window create a new Formula Variable --> Right click in left side window on var and say create new Variable
    2.  Create new variable of replacement path type and reference Characteristic as the TO DATE value which you want to be max.
    3.  Now drag this new created var to CKF and save.
    4. Now create condition with follwoing deatils:
    Key Figure              Operator     Value
    Max Date(CKF)       TOP N          1
Save and execute your query. This will give you max value for the To Date field.
    Hope it works .

  • WEBI Substraction of two classes in query filter

Please tell me how could i implement the following query in the WEBI rich client query filter.
    and ( one."/BIC/ZORIG_DAT" - one.me_itmvalf ) < 364
    AND ( abs(one."/BIC/ZINV_VAL") - abs(one."/BIC/ZSD_AFYV") > 1 )

First, you should know that there is a set of updateXXX() methods in Java 2.0. So, when you have the correct row of the resultSet in hand you can use:
updateString(3,"Hello world!")method to update the field in the column 3 to a String with value "Hello world!". This is just an example of course.
To make this example complete see this:
// assume you have the right row from the resultSet in hand.
// assume rs is your resultSet
    int foo = rs.getInt(1);
    foo += foo*0.05;
    // and other calculations here
    rs.updateInt(1,foo);
rs.updateRow(); // This line is here so as to make the changes
                    // permanent.
// No need to mention that you cannot change primary
// keys...Second, I think I've given you a very clear example of what you can do. And since this is a Java assignment you don't want to be spoon-feeded, do you? :)
    Hope this helped.
