I'm not familiar to Unix
With Unix 16GB RAM, Could you show how to config permanent data , temperary data by only real memory (not virtual memory) ?

When the data store is loaded, this is automatically put in RAM. The space needed for TimesTen memory is PermSize + TempSize + LogBuffer + overhead. It is all be allocated in a single shared memory segment which sits in RAM. If your server was struggling for memory, it is possible this chunk of memory could be swapped out to disk (swap space) to make room, but things would have to be pretty bad for this to happen.
Can you tell me what your OS is please? On some operating systems you can use the 'MemoryLock' attribute to ensure that no portion of TimesTen's memory segment is 'borrowed' by the OS. Maybe it is this attribute you need more information on. If you can add more detail about your concern it would be appreciated.

How to setup mail client in Data Integrator 11.7 to make use of mail_to() function.
I am using mail_to() function in one of my job to know the status of source file. If source file is not ready, our DI job should fail and send mail notification with reason for failure.
But mail_to() function is not sending any mail. I guess I need to set up email client.
Any one please help to resolve this issue.

From the DI documentation that comes with the installation:
To use this function, a mail client must be installed and running on the Job
Server computer that calls the function. The login account for the mail client
must have the same user name and password as the Data Integrator service.
The type of client varies by the operating system:
u2022 If the Job Server is on a computer running the Windows operating
system, then the mail client must comply with MAPI (message application
programming interface). In addition, the mail client must be configured as
the default mail client. For example, Microsoft Outlook is a MAPI-based
mail client.
If the Job Server is on a computer running the UNIX operating system,
then the mail client must be mailx-compliant.
So:
Mail client installed and configured and set as default
Mail client uses the same credentials as the job server service
Or use another function: smtp_to();
If still not working or you are not allowed to use an installed mailclient on your box, then try Blat: http://www.blat.net/

I have packaged function which will create a temporary table that I am using in my main query. This whole process should happen in the beforereport trigger.

Yes for triggers use need functions returning boolean value. These functions must reside in a package and you have to define package name as defaultPackage="package_name" in data template.

How can I permanently change the date format from the American format to the UK's without having to constantly change it manually every time I start a new spreadsheet?

This is my first mac so I'm still getting my bearings with it. I've only used Windows programmes before. I can't understand why it's so hard to change the date format of the cells in Numbers to keep it showing the UK format. The system preferences of the mac show that it's in the correct region and has the correct date but this doesn't seem to transfer into the Numbers program. I was very impressed with the mac until I discovered this. If anyone knows how I can get the date to stay in the correct format without having to go through the process of altering it in the cell inspector everytime then I would be very grateful.

Numbers & most apps, especially those from Apple, use the date format you have set in System Preferences > Language & Text > Region. You can then choose UK from the Region drop-down list. Mine says Custom because I've defined things further as in the second screenshot.

How to setup Events under Data sources in LBWE

I need to know how to setup the events for Shipments data source in LBWE,i activated the data sources and extracted the data but there is no Events for Those shipments data source under application area 08.Other application areas like 11,12...those are having the events.

and also i have one more question :In my client they have two clients in R/3, one for customization and another one is testing,but when i changed or activated my DS those are not effected in testing system..
How can i capture those changes into testing client??any one have any idea..as per my knowledge DS are client independent right so automatically effects those changes into another clients.but in my case it is not happening??? Thanks

You can use "Physical Standby".
You cannot use "Logical Standby".
You are allowed to use Fast Start Failover (FSFO) but SAP Support is not provided.
You can use Data Guard Broker.
You can use Maximum Performance Mode, Maximum Availability Mode and Maximum Protection Mode.
In the case of Maximum Availability and Maximum Protection, you must pay particular attention to a fast network connection in order to avoid performance problems.
Maximum Protection causes the primary database to terminate if problems occur in the standby database.

--> While pulling into BW, extract data selectively. Give date selection at infopcakge.

How do i wipe off all data from my device so that I can safely give it away to charity w/o fear of my data being seen? Do a full sync and backup of your one. I use iTunes for all my backing up. Then unplug the one and plug in the Air. Go through the setup process and when you have the choice to 'set up as new or restore from backup' chooose the the restore and your air will be a near clone of your One. You will need to reset up wifi and website passwords, but the data should be there.
Once you are sure the Air has all you need on it, you can go into the settings and 'erase all content and settings' which puts your One back to the 'out of box' state to you can sell it if you want.

How to populate the webservice XML data in to Table ODI- Webserice invoke

I have multiple work orders in my oracle db table, That means multiple WorkOrder_Item_ID's are there in my source table. When I start transfer the data from source to Target using ODI , I need to get the information of multiple Work order Item_IDs from the Webservice response data ( XML data) of another system by calling ODI Webservice Invoke in ODI and insert the same Webservice XML response data in my source table in the corresponding Item_ID's.
My First question : How can I take the data from Webservice XML and put in to correspoding Item relevent data in to Source Table
Second question: How can I send the multiple work order item ID at the same time to the Webservice and insert the relevant item data in to Source table using ODI.
Finally this combined soure table data should be moved to Target table in ODI.. That I know.. How to do it.
Can any one please give answers for the above said two questions.

I find some words in the implementation guide, it says:"To collect data from your non-Oracle ERP systems or your trading partners' systems,you model each non-Oracle ERP system or trading partner as an Oracle Applications organization and store their setup and transaction data there".
But I can't find where to model the application organization for the legacy system.

How can a KF be of date type, or is it the value of a date characteristic that you have extracted in KF using formula variable. If yes you just need to define exception for the value greater than 0.

How to import the data to Data manager

Hi All,
I am new to MDM and need your help in handling the following issue
In our setup we are sending the Customer master data from R/3->XI->MDM (R/3-> XI IDOCs, XI->MDM XML files).
with the help of extraction job in R/3 IDOCs r generated and XI has onverted these IDOCs to XML Files and created at MDM Server. Now my Question is how to import the Data from these XML files to Data Manager !!!!
Note : Import Map settings are done already in the system.
Can any one help me the steps requeired to get this data to Data manager .
and am I need to do some activity in MDM to import the data to Data manager each and every time or is there any automatic way of doing this .
Please guide me.

Hi MDM User,
Generally there are 2 cases while importing the data,
1) Initial Load
2) Delta Load
Initial Load means importing the data into MDM at first time.This is usually done by manual importing
without using import server.
Delta Load means importing the data into MDM when we have changes to existing data or added new data
to existing data.This is usually done by automatically using import server.
To manually import the data,just create a remote system and port in console and login into import manager
using remote system.Create ,save the map and execute the map.There is no other configurations needed.
To automatically import the data without manual intervention,we go for import server.
To let this happen we need to set some configuarations in mdis.ini file of import server.
Give the repository name,username and password which are set in console for that repository and also
give schedule time based on which import server picks the file from ready folder.
Go to the import manager , change the map and import action depends on your requriment and save that
map.
and also you need to set port type as inbound and automatic and select the map which you saved earlier in
MDM console.
As soon as we start the import server, it picks the file from ready folder of MDM server based on
configurations which we set in mdis.ini file and executes the map.
Here i am giving complete path of ready folder.
SAP MDM 5.5> Server>Distributions>bp1bocap080.bp.co_MSQL> BP3_PoC_Customer> Inbound>Siebel> SIEBEL_OB_CUS_SIEBELCUS01> Ready)
This path has to be given in target directory of receiver communication channel of XI so that it puts XML
file in the above path.
