How to show a Page Total in a Main Report that is calculated in a SubReport

Hi,
I have a Main Report and a SubReport with the detail.
The Report has several pages. I want to show a Page Total in each Page, retrieving data that is in the subreport (Detail).
I tried to use a shared variable, but the problem is that the formula fields are assigned at the end of the subreport, so I can't pass the value back (to the main report) until the last record of the subreport is printed.
I also can't show the Page Total at the subreport, because I have a particular format that I need to respect and only can be printed from the Main Report.
Is any way to do this ? At this moment, with the shared variables I'm getting 0 until the last record is printed.
Also, I can calculate the Page Total from outside Crystal Reports, do to there some fields that can grow, so I can't figure out how many record are going to be printed.

hello, this may depend on how the main report was actually paging...
1) do you have one group per page for example?
2) is the sub on a group footer level?
3) does the subreport use a different data set than the main report?
some suggested workarounds would be to
a) use a report header cross-tab (identical to the existing crosstab) that creates an array of values that you can access anywhere on the main report
b) place an identical cross-tab above the existing one, and suppress all of the subreport sections (not the section where the subreport sits) and then bring the value back to the main report

  • How to show active page in Spry Menu Bar using images

    I have already read this answer "how to show active page in spry menu bar" but I am using images, not text.  I have mouse-over and mouse-out working in the Spry Menu Bar using image.png and image-over.png, but I cant' figure out how to get the image-over.png to appear on the active page since the spry menu bar is locked on the individual pages.  (I tried to put it in an editable comment, but spry wouldn't go for it. :-)
    Any ideas.  Here is the code:

    you mean using translation manager? or data from DB? or both.
    You need to make sure that your DB is already configured for multiple languages.
    Enable the OS for multi languages
    On XIR3.1, you will need to install language packs on the processing servers.  then you can utilize translation manager.
    Installation of Language Packs are a pain to install and update.

    I have a Main report and a Sub report .  When a subreport spans across multiple pages , the page header and page footer of the main report gets displayed along with it . I want to hide the Page Footer and Page Header of the main report when a sub report is displayed . Is there any way it could be acheived in Crystal Report 6.0.

    I am assuming you are talking about the JSControl dropdown menu navigation. The easiest way to hide Community pages is to disable the Below Banner View for that navigation scheme, although it also disables the Subcommunties, Related Communities and Go up to Parent Community links. If you still want these in below the banner menu you could not display Community Pages in the "In this Community" tab and only leave the "Community Members and Knowledge Directly" link in there.
    You would think that it would be better to remove the "In this Community" tab althogether but it is tricky to remove it due to the fact that there needs to be a default horizontal menu displayed all the time. Not all Communities will have a Subcommunities or Related Communities tab so these communities would not display any below banner menus at all if there is no "In this Community" tab, which could be confusing.

  • Display Subreport Totals in the Main Report

    I am using CF10 Report Builder. I have a main report that show counts/amounts by award type for admitted and deposited students. I have a sub report that shows counts/amounts by award type and level for current students who have registered and those who have not yet registered. I need to show the totals of current students by level and weather they have registered or not.
    I tried adding a sub report to show the totals but the sub report does not show up on the main report. Is there a way to do this that I am missing?

    I created the sub-report because the award information is kept in separate
    tables for incoming and returning students. I will work on combining the
    the two.

    In the section expert you can enter a formula on the suppress function.
    You just need something to check against if it is section name you say
    {section name} ="Suppressme"
    I have used it more in drill level to display headers based on how far you have drilled into a report.

    Hi, you can change the number of rows on the report definition page (15 is the default value)- that's also where you can change pagination and max. number of rows etc.
    About the second question - you will have to use Case or Decode in your report query and have the value as link or not based on the condition column, something like:
    Select Decode(condition_column, 'link_value', '<a href="f?p=YOUR_APP:PAGE_TO_LINK_TO:'  || :SESSION || ':::::">display_column</a>' , display_column) From .....

    I giving u fair idea how to show g/l account balance
    There is a field in JDT1 - journal entry rows - JDT1.DebCred which is indicator when g/l account
    is debited / credited,it is filled with value D or C.
    You can add Case syntax in existing query with condition  JDT1.DebCred = 'D' then
    JDT1.Debit + Opening/Closing balance and if JDT1.DebCred = 'C' then
    JDT1.Credit - Opening/Closing balance.
    It requires much time & effort to build this query.

    If you want to view reports that generated by reporting service on your SharePoint site, you might need to save the report in Excel and upload it to SharePoint site.
