How to show madatory fields on form that uses a view?

Hello everyone,
I am using a view to create a form. After I have created the form I modified a column in one of the tables so that it is not null. Now that I have already created a form how can I show that it is mandatory.I know that APEX does this automatically if any fields are not null before I create the form. But how can I modify it now since I've already created the form and the not null field is not being shown as mandatory..
Also is there a custom way to show that the field is mandatory when user doesn't enter any value for that field? Right it shows the oracle error.

Hi Nahal,
It's two-step process:
Step 1: Change the label template on the field to "Required Label" or "Required Label with Help".
Step 2: Add an Item Validation on the page for the field, and choose the validation method "Item Not Null"

Templates, as I understand them, are fixed; you can "fill them in" without shifting them. Yet, I've saved doc as a template AND it shifts. Argh!

I've managed to fix it but I wouldn't recommend the following as I'm sure its unsupported and I'll probably have problems down the line
On the host
* mv /etc/zones /etc/zones.bak
* reboot single user
* apply kernel patch (the one that ultimately I had to get on and which was giving pre-req dependency errors when running zones)
* create a new zone now that host system is all up to date
* Copy the operating system directories of the new zone (the one that's all patched) over the troublesome zone (the one that can't take the patch). Take backups first
* cd /zones/new-zone/root
* find sbin -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root
* find usr -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root
* find lib -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root
* cd /zones/new-zone/root/var
* find sadm -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root/sadm (this copies patches and pkgs directories and I'm sure a lot of other stuff that I didn't want)
* mv /etc/zones.bak /etc/zones
* reboot host
* boot the old zone up. It should now have up to date patches
I'm sure there are real no-no's in taking this approach but it seems to have worked for me. I'll update if I find there are some horrors down the line

How to hide input fields on selection screen using variant attribute

Hello all,
I want to know how to hide input fields on selection screen using variant attribute conpletely.
As you know, when setting the attribute of variant "Hide field" checked, the field is temporarily hidden, but when clicking "All Selections(F7)" button on the selection screen, the fileds become appeared.
I want to hide the field completely. Di you know how to do ?

Use this attribute hide field and save the variant. Then create transaction for this program setting default variant for parameter Start with variant . The user who runs it will have it by defualt set.
Otherwise
in PBO simply use LOOP at screen and output = 0 for this field. This will ensure that field is invisible in any case.

Crystal Reports version 8.5
Crystal SQL Designer 8.0.0.0
CRW32 8.0.0.8
We have now migrated to Crystal XI.
Most of our reports use queries created in the Crystal SQL Designer.
This is the message we receive when I open a report in Crystal XI that uses a query:
Reports based on Crystal Dictionary or Crystal Query are no longer supported. Please change these reports to use Business Views.
How do I convert a Crystal report that uses a query to use a Business View?

Hi Mac,
There is a Database Migration Wizard that was available but the link is broken now. I'm tracking down where we can get it from. Check your CD, it may be on the disk.
Currently it's only shipped with our Enterprise Product because it converts Queries to Business Views and Views to Command Objects.
If you have Enterprise Available you should have a link off the Start Menu.
Back up your reports first....

IIS is7.5, AppPool is Integrated.
I have tried below, none of them works:
1) Add it only to system.web\httpHanders. Changed AppPool to classic, still got hidden error.
2) Add it only to system.webServer\handlers. Integrated mode,still got hidden error.

According to your description, when you use reportviewer control, you got the error message: The Report Viewer Web Control HTTP Handler has not been registered in the application's web.config file.
To troubleshoot the problem, please refer to the following steps:
Click Start, click Run, then type InetMgr.exe and click OK.
Click plus sign next to server name to expand it.
Click Application Pools in left pane.
In Application Pools list, click DefaultAppPool.
In the Actions pane, in Edit Application Pool section, click Edit Settings to check the Pipeline mode.
Configuration settings for the HTTP handlers are specified in the system.web/httpHandlers element and the system.webServer/handlers element. of your application Web.config file. The handler specified in system.web/httpHandler is used by Internet Information
Services (IIS) 6.0 or IIS 7.0 in Classic mode, whereas the handler specified in system.webServer/handlers is used by IIS 7.0 in Integrated mode. To use IIS 7.0 in Integrated mode, you must remove the HTTP handler in system.web/httpHandlers. Otherwise, IIS
will not run the application, but will display an error message instead.

The logViewer executable can't be run without an enterprise install (at least not easily decoupled), however, an alternative, would be to pass someone the .jnlp and some log files.... I'm pretty sure you can pass that, and either an admin user and password to view 'live' logs, or just have them cancel the remote log, and open a local file....

PS: I don't see any opbmlogreader.exe or .sh or .bet in the OBPM_HOME\bin directory. I am looking at OBPM standalone, and the only relevant files I can see are obpmlogviewer.exe , obpmlogviewer.lax , lax.jar. Am I missing something?
MaxI too don't have the log reader, however I do remember it... I'm thinking the .sh might only be included in the linux distribution of enterprise, so I'm downloading that now to verify... I will let you know what I find...

Godaddy hosts my website and i can not get any type of contact form to work! When I publish to my .mac account it works fine, using the HTML snippet, however when I publish the exact same file to the Godaddy server it doesn't even show up. Anyone have any idea how I can resolve this? should i change hosting companies?? godaddy says that it is not there issue...

One reason why it would not show is if not all your files have been uploaded. How are you uploading?
If you are using Cyberduck or Transmit, you can actually check that the relevant files have been uploaded to the server. If uploading that page with the form on it, then ensure that you upload both the html page, plus the files folder that goes with it.
Are you using Windows or Linux hosting? Linux hosting is preferable for iWeb.
If you use GoDaddy they have facilities for you to use FormMail, so you can upload this directly to your hosting space and then create your own form using html code in an html snippet and then upload. You have more options if you do it this way and you have more control. If you use a third party such as Wufoo, everything is stored on their servers and if their servers go down for any reason you have not workable form.

Thanks Ludek, I use this a sub to create a report document and report viewer in sap bussines one form.
Running this code shows the sap business one form with the report viewer but then closes SAP Business One Application.

In order to achieve this you have to enhance components. Here are the steps:
1. Transaction SM34: Create Enhancement Set (only the 1st step-Enhancement Set definition)
View Cluster: bspwdvc_cmp_ext
2. Transaction SM30: Assign Enhancement to client
View: BSPWDV_EHSET_ASG
3. Create Enhancement
Transaction: BSP_WD_CMPWB
Choose the component you want to enhance and your Enhancement Set.
Choose u201CDisplayu201D.
Press, Enhance Component.
In Application, enter the name of your Enhancement Set.
Enter package for development and request.
Now you are working for the Component you selected with your Enhancement Set.
4.Expand the Views (you will see that all are grey) and choose the View you want to create your Enhancement. Right click and choose u201CEnhanceu201D. Confirm Workbench request and package several times.
Now the view is active.
5. Double-clicking on the View.
On the tab u201CStructureu201D, select Context  Context Node. Now you have to search on which Context node the field you want to add is saved. Open the Context Node  Attributes.
Right click on the Attribute folder and choose u201CCreateu201D. The wizard is opened:
Go to the step u201CAttribute Definitionu201D: give an Attribute Name and a BOL attribute. The BOL attribute is the field you want to enhance (Here for some fields you have to search a little more) and Complete.
6. Now your field is appearing on the Attributes folder.
7. Go to Configuration tab and add your enhancement.

Urgent: Problem opening a data form that uses a smart list

Hi, we've got a problem with a data form that is quite unusual.
The data form was working perfectly until yesterday when we put a smart list in it. The smart list is composed of 8 possible choices activated by the following member formula:

Initially we tested the functioning of every different choice in the smart list and it was working properly. After a while we tried again to change the choices combination and we couldn't open the data form due to an error.
It is quite strange because sometimes it work and sometimes it doesn't. In the data form (that is very large) there are many accounts and scenarios that are dynamic calc, in addition to the smart list formula; we tried to open the form two minutes ago converting the data storage type of a scenario from "Dynamic calc" into "Dynamic calc and Store", and it seems to work at the moment... does planning have a memory limit? Can someone suggest a solution (or help us find out the reason)?
