How to show the cover art in the sidebar?

Hej!
I just updated iTunes to the latest version and wanted to make it look like before and already managed to enable the side and status bar.
Now to my problem: I just can't find out how to show the cover art of the selected/playing song in the sidebar...
If they didn't remove this option, please let me know how to enable it.

I was able to somehow pull the single tool column down and get it to show as a double column. I am not sure as to exactly how I did this, but I did get the double column tool box and so far it has remained. There is some gray column overlap at the bottom of the screen.

My problem mainly concerns cover art.
There have been times when I downloaded albums from the iTunes store to find its cover art it is absolutely beautiful, and is absolutely 100% un stretched. Whereas when I have gotten images for a specific album from Google Images it's terribly pixelated and totally disgusting.
Is there a way for me to obtain cover art for my albums that is has clarity equal to the cover art on the iTunes store albums.
Or will it basically boil down to I can only get that cover art by downloading my albums off the store?

Seriously! I'm anal about having cover art...and there is no longer the option to upload an internet photo. What do I do? I even try calling it other album names and it refuses to recognize any Pink Floyd.

Find the cover art for The Wall on a website. Right-click the track, Get Info, and open the Artwork tab. Drag the art from the web page to the space on the Artwork tab. When you are done, click OK.

When I download a movie from iTunes the cover art disappears. I try get info and add the art, it doesn't show up. So it's just gray. It opens and plays fine. Apple can't figure it out. It's an nas drive. When I use a firewire drive I get the art

When I download movies from iTunes to my NAS drive, I don't get the cover art. It shows up while its downloading, but when it's finish it disappears. If it has an iTunes extra the cover art is there. I tried get info and add the cover art, it never shows. Regardless of how I add it. Funny thing is, if I download the same movie to my external firewire drive, no problem its there. I've called Apple with no success. I've even tried copying the movie with the art from the firewire drive to replace the file on then NAS drive I still loose the movie cover art. I also tried several times to re download it, no luck. Any ideas? I'm out of ideas.

Do you have any videos/movies in the video app?
In iTunes if you right click on the video and select Get Info and go to the Option tap what Media Type is shown?

On itunes on my computer I put all my songs into the right albums and cover art on the albums but it doesn't show up that way on my ipod

On itunes on my computer I took the time to sort my songs put them by the correct artists and albums and got all the cover art for it but when i go to put it that way on my iPod it doesn't work that way? Why is it showing multiple albums for the same album and no cover art for some albums and unknown artists for the artist? It says differently on Itunes on my computer.

You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

I understand what you mean - I too, would like to see some variability in the 'default'. Besides having a single default, I would step that up to a default that changes with genre and media: ie. I could see using a sax for Jazz; a microphone for a Podcast, etc.
I don't have the answer to your question yet, but I think I'm going to crack open the iTunes package to see what default images there are embedded in there.

Go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account. Then log in using a different ID.

My master cover art for "The Circus Life Podcast" isn't showing up in the store, only the podcast library. Can anyone help?

I just uploaded my new podcast, "The Circus Life Podcast" to iTunes via Libsyn. The master artwork for the show itself is not showing up in the store, only the library in the podcast app once you have subscribed. Me and my partner can't for the life of us figure out what to do. The RSS feed was submitted and approved over a week ago and still the artwork isn't show. Can anyone help?

Below are specs from Apple for artwork. They don't mention the 500kb limit - but it seems at least for .jpg images - any we have seen issues with that meet all the other requirement are over 500 kb - and lowering the file size was able to get them working.
But per CMYK - that definitely will not work on the iTunes store. Change your artwork to RGB - get the file size down below 500kb - and reupload to libsyn - with a new file name and your artwork should show up in 1 to 5 days.

Put the URL to the image in the href attribute. iTunes prefers square .jpg images that are at least 1400x1400 pixels, which is different from what is specified for the standard RSS image tag. In order for a podcast to be eligible for an iTunes Store feature, the accompanying image must be at least 1400x1400 pixels.
iTunes supports images in JPEG and PNG formats with an RGB color space (CMYK is not supported). The URL must end in ".jpg" or ".png". If the <itunes:image> tag is not present, iTunes will use the contents of the RSS image tag.
If you change your podcast’s image, also change the file’s name. iTunes may not change the image if it checks your feed and the image URL is the same. The server hosting your cover art image must allow HTTP head requests for iTS to be able to automatically update your cover art.
Spend some time developing an attractive, original image that represents your podcast well. Potential subscribers will see it on your podcast’s page and a much smaller version of the image in search results and feature placements. Make sure your design is effective in both sizes.
The <itunes:image> tag is also supported at the episode level. For best results, we recommend using the <itunes:image> tag at the item level as well as embedding the same art within the media file’s metadata. To embed art within an individual episode’s metadata using iTunes, select the episode and choose Get Info from the File menu. Click the Artwork tab. Then click Add, navigate to and select the image file, and click Choose.

My Podcast Just Became Searchable But The Cover Art Is Not Showing

My podcast just became searchable in the itunes store. I knew it took a few days but the cover art is not showing yet.
Is this a process that just takes more time as well? When I subscribe to it the artwork shows up but it's not showing up in the store..

The image is correctly referenced in the feed: it can take several days before the image appears in the Store, so it's just a question of waiting.

Wrong 'Cover Art' - Upgraded the Art but still showing the Old one !!

I have just added a New Episode to my Podcast ( using Garageband & iWeb, just like before ), at the same time I updated the 'Cover Art'. More glossy, attractive and original image and corrected the category, from just Education to Higher Education.
This has now passed the 'iTunes' inspection ( the new episode ) and has been included into my iTunes Podcast. Here is the problem, even though I 'UPDATED' everything, "Cover Art & Category", iTunes are still showing my OLD Cover Art and the wrong Category. Why !!!
I thought that when you added a new Episode or somehing and had made changes to the whole thing ( Podcast ) that it was changed ( updated ).
Am I missing something, or is it that iTunes have 'missed' something.
I do hope that someone can help and lead me in the right direction.
Oh one more thing, I have used the '&' yet I get the '&amp' on my Podcast, yet I have seen on other Podcast's the '&' without the 'amp'. Any reason why mine is different ?

Someone else posted about this. Actually, this is the reason why I am searching on here. I have the same exact problem. Mine has not been upgraded yet. But someone else suggested, when you change the image in your feed XML file, try renaming the picture first. It helped someone else. I guess when iTunes searched for a different file name is was finally able to change the image (which seems to be in a cache somewhere in iTunes, even though you host the files).
It didnt work for me though. If you figure it out, let me know.

Mp3 files in Finder doesn't show all the Cover Art

Recently I buy some new tracks but when I add the cover with ID3 Editor (or iTunes), I can't see the covers of the files in the Finder. Moreover when you copy & paste a MP3 with an available cover, it will disappear. I find it very annoying. I made a clean install for OS X Lion and I don't understand what's happen Maybe a bug ? I didn't had this problem with my Snow Leopard...

I have had the same issue ever since Lion. Its been very painful not having album art preview in finder or the play button when rollover the file for so many versions of OSX. Today I worked hard in trying to solve the problem since Applecare support hasn't helped much, all they did was tell me to bring the computer in. The other main reason I got so motivated to try and fix this is because the DJ app for Mac only reads album art from the finder even if iTunes can display the album art. The other reason that got me curious is that my friends macbook pro album art worked fine, so I cross checked with his computer until I figured out a few things that helped and ultimately fixed the issue. FINALLY!
My set up:
- I have my full iTunes library folder on my external as I have over 700GB of music.
- It includes all my database files in there, which is very important as I have many playlist settings from over 7 years of iTunes activity.
SOLUTION:
1. With every new computer I have purchased, I use to just pressed option on Mac and press iTunes to locate my folder (which I have said is located on my external drive).
2. I tried today to press option again BUT locate and selected the default library in the user/music folder of my internal drive (standard setting from Apple).
3. Miraculously, all the album art appeared in both my external drive library and also today's downloaded songs on my Macbook pro. Ofcourse with the new default location I don't have any songs or data.
4. So I tried to find a way to keep this library data on my internal drive since it can help the finder display all my files properly, yes even have the play on rollover button but as well link it back to my external drive with all my 700GB songs.
5. I then went into iTunes Preferences/Advance tab and in iTunes Media folder location redirected the location to my external drive iTunes/ iTunes Media folder. If it asks to collate data, press NO.
6. Then I quit iTunes.
7. Next I copied the 4 files to my desktop from my external drive as I want to keep the data I have made with all my playlists etc. The four files are iTunes Library Extras.itdb , iTunes Library Genius.itdb , iTunes Library.itl , iTunes Library.xml
8. I then went to my internal drive User/Music/Itunes/ and dragged these 4 files I copied from my external drive into here and making sure to REPLACE the four existing files already there.
9. Next open iTunes and you will find all your presettings appear with all your music linked to your external. What this does is keep the important library files on your internal drive (that somehow makes your finder files album art appear), BUT to read also all the music mp3 files located in the external drive (action from step 5)
Presto!! All your music files whether on internal drive or external all the album art has appeared.

Playing the Cover Art Showing

So I just upgraded to a Classic, and now there's always Cover Art flying around on the screen. Is there any shortcut to begin playing the song that goes with the cover art that's currently being displayed, or do I have to drill through the menus?

Unfortunately, covert art is just there for added looks and there is no way to go directly to that song. Maybe some day that will change. If you would like to suggest this to Apple you can do so through the page below. Hope this helps.

My podcast cover art image has been replaced by the Wordpress bluberry thumbnail in iTunes? Can anyone please help tell me what to do? I made a cover art to the right spec and added it to my podcast episodes in my iTunes library

The cover art does not show on My iTunes library even when I'm playing it. The cover art does not show in Word press either when you open it on a laptop. But I think I used a feed burner for the podcast and that's why the word press done now has come up. My question is that iTunes have Successfully I did my podcast however my son now is not my heart and I need to change that. Can anybody here please help me? I think it has something to do with the feed burner or potentially the way I have uploaded. I uploaded the podcast directly into WordPress I did not use any other hosting sites like libsyn.

After I add a cd to my library the cover art does not come up haw do I add it?

After I import a CD into my music library the cover art does not appear, and when I try to add the cover art it says that it is not available, when look it up I can locate the cover art but it will not import. How do I get the album cover art?

Have you tried Settings>Privacy>Location Services and see if you can turn it on in there?
Obviously it has to be an app that works with location services so if it is and nothing else works, delete the app and download it again to make it ask again if you want to allow your location to be used with it.

How do i get a folio to default to the cover page when the app is closed and reopened.

The folio i'm making is for a 'show and tell' sort of thing, it needs to be quite linear so has top start from the cover every time it's opened and then be read through. I know it's as easy as just using nav to return to cover but the people i'm making this for have 0 knowledge and 0 willingness to learn therefore i'd like the folio to reset to the cover page whenever the content viewer is closed and reopened.
I had it working on a previous iteration but on my latest version it remembers what page i'm on when I reopen the viewer (logical and handy I know but not in this instance).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
