How to skip characters using JTextBox.getText()

First, I'd like to say these forums rock! They've helped me so much. As I get better at this, I hope to be able to return the favor.
I've set up a couple methods to allow users to edit specific text fields and then save.
I'm trying to get a Double value from a text box using:
Retail.price.set(f, Double.parseDouble(price.getText()));However, to make my UI look good, I've inserted a "$" into the text box. I can redo the code to repopulate the fields leaving the "$" out when the modify button is pressed, but I was wondering if there is a way to just ignore the $ when getting my Double.

Using Ctrl+Rt arrow usually skips words when typing in a free text box but FF uses that keyboard command to move through the open tabs. Is this customizable?

on the Keyboard Shortcuts page, under the Windows & Tabs section, it says that CTRL + LEFT ARROW (or RIGHT ARROW) will navigate between tabs. this means that when you are in a text box (e.g. typing an email in a web based email provider like gmail, or in the box i am typing this reply in right now) when you press CTRL + L/R ARROW it changes tabs instead of skipping words. so basically firefox is overriding ability to skip words using CTRL + L/R ARROW. this is rather annoying when typing emails using firefox. i have resorted to typing my emails in a word processor, then pasting into gmail.
is there a way to disable the CTRL + L/R ARROW shortcut in firefox? it seems redundant to even have that shortcut because CTRL + PGUP/PGDN already does this.
i did find [http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=211030 this page] on the ubuntu forums with a user experiencing the same issue. one user suggested the following (quoted below), but it didnt work for me because the setting was already set to true.

I tried with Access key first but its behaving differently in different browser.
Crome: allowing action on access key press.
IE : setting the focus on commandLink.
Note : I have defined accessKey for RichCommandLink.

This is working fine and launching the first action successfully.
*Now problem is that when i invoked second action its asking me enter data for required fields.*
If i was invoking serverlistener from button than I can control immediate property of command button. but here serverListener is getting called form document. How can I avoid validation here.

SQL Loader Problem : how to skip column using sql ldr

Hi,
My problme is like this.
In the data file i am getting some data and storing it in flat file format with ` as delimiter.
For example:
t1col1`t1col2`t1col3`t2col1`t2col2`t2col3`t2col4
There are two tables here i.e t1 having 3 columns and t2 having 4 column values.
But in the database i m having only 3 columns for t2 which corresponds to data of t2col3. Now in my control file can i use filler to skip this value in the datafile with the columnName mentioned.
So my basic question is can i get rid of some column value which is there in the datafile and its position is not known when it will come but its name is known and its name is not present in the actual database. Can it be done using keyword "filler".
Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

Vissu.....UTL_FILE just reads data from the file. It has no concept of what could be a "header" or "body" or "records" or "footer" or any other data based concept. If you want to skip lines of a file, you will just need to read them using UTL_FILE and ignore them.

If you want to pass a string from LabVIEW to your dll, and you do NOT change size of the string, you can use a C String pointer (CStr), which is equivalent to (unsigned) char *.
If you do modify size of the string, pass string as a LabVIEW structure (LStrHandle).
The example "Passing a Variety of Data Types from DLL to LabVIEW" is an excellent starting point. Also make sure you check the manual "Using External Code in LabVIEW".

What data type is the column in the Oracle table? The NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET would control the encoding of NCHAR and NVARCHAR2 columns. The NLS_CHARACTERSET would control the encoding of CHAR and VARCHAR2 columns.

If "just using Crystal Reports XI R2" means using Crystal Report Viewer and do not want to see the prompt, please follow the below steps.
1. Select the report you want to see
2. Select "Process" tab
3. Select Parameters menu under the process tab.
4. You would see two date parameters there.

Any idea how you can safely use ONE computer for BOTH work and internet?

I'm planning to set up a small music project studio, built around a powerbook, that I will be sharing with a friend of mine. My friend is going to use the computer for music AND heavy internet use, but I will only use it for music work (off-line).
The thing is then that I am slightly worried about viruses, worms, spyware and similar unwanted stuff 'sneaking in' when the laptop is online. Even with firewall and anti-virus I guess there is always a risk.
Any idea if there is a way of keeping things completely separate?
How about if I had a bootable external hard drive for my work, with the Mac OS system on. Then when I'm working I could boot up from that drive (and use the computer off-line).
Maybe we could even remove the internal hard drive from the powerbook (?), and use the powerbook with two external hard drives instead: One bootable drive for me and another bootable drive for my studio partner (and then only connect one hard drive at the time).
Any idea if this would work well..? (I'm not sure if i.e. a virus could sneak in anyway, through the PRAM, L2 cache or the RAM or something similar) Or does anyone have any other suggestions...? Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks!

Not too much worry with Macs, but get an Ethernet Router, skip Wireless, use strong Passwords.

                    If only thoses file comes then no problem .

I didn't look closely enough last time. The above is illogical. The parsestring function parses a string based on a delimiter.
The function has these arguments:
String to Parse
How many fields are in the string
The parsed field to return
Field delimiter
In the above, strField is returning the field specified in your import format. You are also saying that there is a total of 1 field. If that were the case, you wouldn't need to parse anything.
I am guessing that your call needs to look something more like this:
strAcc = DW.Utilities.fParseString (*strRecord*, *8*, 1, chr(9))
Make sense?
If not, maybe you can include a few sample lines from your data file and that will make it easier to help you.

I have no problems parsing the same XSL containing static Arabic text using Transviewer beans' XSLTransformPanelSample class. This means that my XSL has no errors in it.

You need to use the correct and the same character encoding (charset) thorough the complete process.
Whenever you get question marks, then it means that the charset used does not recognize the bytes (which on its turn are apparently encoded by a different charset).

If you want to load InfoObjects in the form of hierarchies, you have to activate the indicator with hierarchies for each of the relevant InfoObjects in the InfoObject maintenance. If necessary, you need to specify whether the whole hierarchy or the hierarchy structure is to be time-dependent, whether the hierarchy can contain intervals, whether additional node attributes are allowed (only when loading using a PSA), and which characteristics are allowed.
1.Defining the source system from which you want to load data:
Choose Source System Tree ® Root (Source System) ® Context menu (Right Mouse Button) ® Create.
For a flat file, choose: File System, Manual Metadata; Data via File Interface.
2.Defining the InfoSource for which you want to load data:
Optional: Choose InfoSource Tree ®Root (InfoSources) ® Context Menu (Right Mouse Button) ® Create Application Component.
Choose InfoSource Tree ® Your Application Component ® Context Menu (Right Mouse Button) ® Create InfoSource ® Direct Update
Choose an InfoObject from the proposal list, and specify a name and a description.
3.Assigning the source system to the InfoSource
Choose InfoSource tree ® Your Application Component ® One of your InfoSources ® Context Menu (Right Mouse Button) ® Assign Source System. You are taken automatically to the transfer structure maintenance.
The system automatically generates DataSources for the three different data types to which you can load data.

With this transfer method, during loading, the structure is converted to the structure of the PSA, which affects performance.
PSA transfer method: The transfer methods and the communication structure are also generated here.
5.Maintaining the hierarchy:
Choose Hierarchy Maintenance, and specify a technical name and a description of the hierarchy.
PSA Transfer Method: You have the option here to set the Remove Leaf Value and Node InfoObjects indicator. As a result, characteristic values are not transferred into the hierarchy fields NODENAME, LEAFFROM and LEAFTO as is normally the case, but in their own transfer structure fields. This option allows you to load characteristic values having a length greater than 32 characters.
Characteristic values with a length > 32 can be loaded into the PSA, but they cannot be updated in characteristics that have a length >32.

The system transfers the settings for the intervals and for time-dependency from the InfoObject maintenance. Depending on which settings you have defined in the InfoObject maintenance, further table fields can be generated from the system.
The valid from and valid to field is filled if you select Total Hierarchy Time-dependent in the InfoObject maintenance. The time-dependent indicator is activated if you select the Hierarchy Nodes Time-dependent option in the InfoObject maintenance.
6.Save your entries.
Depending on which settings you defined in the InfoObject maintenance, additional fields can be generated from the system. Also note the detailed description for Structure of a Flat Hierarchy File for Loading via an IDoc and for Structure of a Flat Hierarchy File for Loading via a PSA.

How to skip a record in flat file to idoc scenario?

Hi,
Anybody have good suggestions on how to skip a record(xi not process the record) based on certain conditions? I don't want to use bpm, anybody has experience with file to idoc can advise how to deal with this situation?

Its very clear. It can be easily done. I hope u might be knowing about Michal's changing the IDOC occurence blog. Based on that blog change the IDOC occurence to 0...Unbounded.
Now map all the necessary fields to the target IDOC. On the IDOC root node set condition from source if the source field is not Delete then create IDOC else don't create.

IDOC(root node).
