How to skip validation for tag file, or jsp fragment?

hi
I have some jsp fragment and tag file in a workshop 10 project
workshop blame me about the jsp fragment (no start/end tag)
and unable to publish to server
is there a way to skip validation on some files?
I do found an check box call "validate JSP fragments" and I have un-ticked it. It does nothing.

Yes, you can turn off validation either on project/folder/individual file.
Project:
Project > Properties - Validation AppXRay - un-check "Validate Workshop managed documents" (this is not recommended, you may loose entire AppXRay validation).Folder:
Project > Properties - Validation AppXRay - Exclude Folders tab, if all the JSP fragments are present in a particular folder (under WebAppRoot), you can pick that folder to be excluded from AppXRay validationFile:
Help > Help Contents - BEA Workshop User's Guide > Common IDE Tasks > "Using AppXRay" - Live Synchronization of artifacts with AppXRay - On this page scroll to the bottom you will find a table with list of comments that can be included in a JSP file to exclude file level validation.Ex:

I didn't look closely enough last time. The above is illogical. The parsestring function parses a string based on a delimiter.
The function has these arguments:
String to Parse
How many fields are in the string
The parsed field to return
Field delimiter
In the above, strField is returning the field specified in your import format. You are also saying that there is a total of 1 field. If that were the case, you wouldn't need to parse anything.
I am guessing that your call needs to look something more like this:
strAcc = DW.Utilities.fParseString (*strRecord*, *8*, 1, chr(9))
Make sense?
If not, maybe you can include a few sample lines from your data file and that will make it easier to help you.

How to skip validation using serverListener

I am using Jdev 11.1.2.3.0
My requirement was to called some action using the keyboard key.
I tried with Access key first but its behaving differently in different browser.
Crome: allowing action on access key press.
IE : setting the focus on commandLink.
Note : I have defined accessKey for RichCommandLink.
Then i used the different approach which is as follows:
1- Register the keyBoard handler to document. on beforePhase Event.
2- Added the js file as follows :

This is working fine and launching the first action successfully.
*Now problem is that when i invoked second action its asking me enter data for required fields.*
If i was invoking serverlistener from button than I can control immediate property of command button. but here serverListener is getting called form document. How can I avoid validation here.

How Can I Search for Media files by Length?

I want know how can I search for media files (mov, mp4, flv and movie files in general) by their length?
If this search function is confirmed as definitely not possible on the OS, I would appreciate someone recommending app that might be able to perform such a search?

No possible way. Because the files may be enoded with differing codecs, compression, etc., you can only sort by file size, not the 'length' of the movie files.

I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve, could you please elaborate?
Do you want to load all the styles from one document into all 100 documents, or do you want all the styles from the 100 documents into 1 document or what is the goal?
The following will let you choose a folder of files, open each of the files in it and import the styles from source document. It is not a complete script, make sure to test and modify before running on anything else than test files :-)

I am new to this technology. i Have used ADF components required property to do Required filed validations. Whne i click on Cancel button i dont want the validations to get executed. How to skip validations in ths case?

How to add support for new file type.

Using the ESDK, I would like to add support for new file type ( a new extension). this new extension will function like any other non visual code editor but will have specific syntax highlighting, code folding and explorer.
I am trying ot figure out if I need to create a new editor or use existing JDeveloper code editor and add support for new file type. Does anyone have a high level outline on how to do this using the ESDK that is specifically targeted at adding new file type support for a text based code editor?
I have looked at the Samples and keep going in multipe directions. It would be cool if there was an example that was how add syntax higlighting for new file type.

Brian, thank you. I looked at this extension and it answered a lot of questions for me. I was going in the right direction but needed a little help and bost of confidence, this is just what I needed. I created the LanguageSupport, LanguageModel, Addin, Node and TextDocument that are specific to the new file type. I was getting hung up on how to hook this into the JDevelpoer editor. I keep thinking I have to create a custom editor but it looks like I don't have to and it looks like I can associate this file support with the editor framwork, for version 10.1.3.2, with the following in the Addin Initilize() method.

CodeEditor.registerNodeType(MyNode.class, MY_EXTENSION);

I put a System.out.println("test") in the Initilize() method of my addin. then I registered MyAddin in the extension.xml. JDeveloper sees this new extension and it is loaded but I have not been able to show the test message or display the new icon when I open the new file type.

If I copy/paste the table tags (including the <h:outputText> tags) on the main jip, it renders without any problem:

I can suggest you with the following solutions
1. try having <%out.flush();%> before and after c:import
2. try with jsp:include with flush=true

Xerces will do that for qou, if you activate validation (and, of course, a DTD is specified in the file). Read the documentation of Xerces at xml.apache.org

How to control text for PDF Files in the BI7.0 Broadcaster

I am running a web template in the BI7.0 Broadcaster. The output prints in the PDF format. In the precalculation tab I have set up 4 variables(VAR1,VAR2 .. etc) . The main folder where these PDF files get stored I can control the text but dont know how to change the PDF file names which fall into this folder. All the PDF files have the technical name and number(like XXX_00000,XXX_00001 etc.) How can I control the text for these files.

it is not possible to get any influence on the filenames. If you use Filternavigation the filename is generated to be unique.
