How to stop prod order release without material available?

Is there any settings to avoid the release of production order if there is no material availability?

Hi Imran,
Try the below for not to allow the release of production order when the material is not available.
1. Goto Tcode : OPJK and select the Plant / Order type for which you want to restrict the order release if the matl is not avaialble.
2. Click the details tab screen.
3. System will display the detail screen for the order type / plant combination.
4. For the Availability Check put " 1 or 2" i.e. check availability during the Order Creation / Release based on the business requirement.
5. Under Material Availability tick the check box "Check Material Aval before saving".
6.For the Collective Conversion use " 3" (No Creation if material is missing)
Creation control for availability check material :
Controls whether a planned order can be converted to a production order if one or more material components are not available.
Dependencies
This key only relates to the collective conversion and partial conversion planned orders.

Thanks for the document.
I m looking for how to perform Pick confirm transactions for already printed Pick slips before WMS enabled flag is turn on for the org.
One option is to close all the deliveries but if there is no on hand at that point the they will remain option.
Other option is to Back order those deliveries and re release them post wms enable flag is turned on... The only issue i see here is that if there are more new orders for one of the items and the orders are released then which orders will get allocated/reserved if there is limited on hand quantity to statisfy the SO need.
Let me know if you can think off some alternative solution.

You can do by applying user exit.
Use PPCO0007 - Exit when saving production order.
Function module - EXIT_SAPLCOZV_001.

How to stop G/L from defaulting material group in work orders

Whenever we create a work order, the material group is pulled from the material master. But, if we have a component on a work order and don't enter in a material number, the material group defaults to electric supplies. From my research, it looks like it is doing this defaulting based upon the default G/L account assigned to components of work orders. Does anyone know how to stop this defaulting?
I might be completely off and it's not related to G/L which in that case this is not the correct forum, so if someone is knowledgeable about this let me know and I can switch the forum areas.

Please check the Account Assignment In Po you have created .
for expamole if Po is created with account assignment ctegourt K than account modification is VBR
as in below Path and screen shot
Now check Material group valuation class if you are short text in PO or material master valuatiobn class if you are material Number . For expamaple its is 0001 liek ypur case . Now
Check combination in OBYC in GBB transction for VBR( Assignment category is K in PO ) and valaution class ( of Material master or material group )

TECO for order created without material

I want to schedule background program for putting teco status to all order created without materialand which are having CNF status. Orders which has recived CNF status on date which is 60 days in past from current date

Use transaction COHV or COHVPI and create variant (XYZ)according to your requirement. Under mass processing select function 'Technically complete'.
Schedule a background job using
Transaction code SM36,
Program name PPIO_ENTRY
Variant XYZ
at date\time and frequency you want to use.

Production Order Simulation for Material Availability

Please Help.
Does anyone know how to run a simulation for a configured material and then do a material availability check? First I need to be able to configure a material, then I need to be able to see if I have the material available to build it. The requirement is coming from Sales or another Plant if the form of a question "Can you fulfill the SO by X date?" I have tried CO01S but after configuring the material it is not allowing me to then do the availability check. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Based on further checks i feel the simulation order might not meet your exact need, apologies for the incorrect info.
Alternatively what i can think of at the moment is,
1. Create a new order type say ZSIM, assign a new number range (create via co82) for this & maintain all other paramters as a normal order type
2. Create a user status in BS02, which does not allow for releasing the order & assign this user status to your new order type in OPJH.
3. Create a order for your material using this new order type & you can then use the material availability functionality.
The blocking of release for these orders, ensure that even by mistake the user does not release these orders as you want to use it for simulation purpose & thereby ensuring that it does not become relevant for production.

PR Creation from Main Order based on Material Availability Check

Hi Experts.
I have activated material check for maintenance order, and system is checking material availability. But system is not generating purchase requisition if material not available.
PR creation from main order is feasible in case I will select item category as Non Stock - N; but system is not creating PR for stock item IC - L.
Can u further guid me, how system will generate PR for material assign in maintenace order, but required stock not available.

Hi,
As Venu told, for the Item Category L, system will create the reservation. While running MRP for that item, system will check the stock qty & required qty, then it will create the PR for the unavailable qty.
Only for item category N, from maintenance order, PR will be created.
Maintain the MRP type in Material Master.

Updated Batch Characteristics on Order Release is not available in MSC3N

I have maintained the Class (023) and characteristics for Finished Material. When I am releasing the production order, I am assigning the values for batch characteristics (Custom defined characteristic) after that, If I go and see the corresponding batch in display mode (MSC3N) the value for the characteristic is not updated (entered value not available its blank).
u2022 Automatic batch creation for the production order during the order releasing is happening exactly as per the configuration but the entered value for the characteristic is not available for the corresponding batch in change as well as display mode (MSC2N/MSC3N)
Please guide to solve out this issue

HOW to AGGREGATE TRANSFER ORDERs per same material/batch?

My company runs ordering system via web. Customers usually post web orders numerous times during sales campaigns, which result uncountable no. line items on sales and delivery documents (same ship to) even if the material/batch is the same.
1. Could somebody help me to find a way, if there is at all, how I can create Transfer Orders per the same material/batch NOT per delivery line items?
I have tried to do a test scenario via 2-step picking. Crated a valid Group but the next error came by running LT0E "Selected group 2703 for 2-step picking not relevant"
I do not have any clue if the 2-step picking is good for solving the above issue.
I was not able to configure WM view up to now.
2. How should I do that for 2-step picking?

How to stop sales orders from contracts from qualifying for Rebates.

We have set up rebate agreements for customers and they are working as expected.
Now our sales people want to start using contracts for some special deals for certain customers and products. But they DO NOT want these sales orders from these contracts to qualify for rebates.
Does anybody know how we can set this up or if it is at all possible?

I got one more idea and so try it out.If it sounds foolish please ignore.Instead of going for userexits its better you go for a different sales order type whenever you refer to a contract.And make sure you assign a different pricing procedure which does not contain the condition type BO03 at all.Ofcourse this new sales document should have a different document pricing procedure.

NOW if I hover over a command/link (including annoying ads) the command is executed when I did not want it to execute or display in the case of an ad in Safari. Warning at Order Release

Hi all
I want to have a warning message when i am trying to release a production order if the material is not available that is if the order status is MSPT.
Couls someone please help me. I have created a user status of order release with warning mode and assigned this status to the production order type. this gives me a warning even if the material is available.
How do i put the condition that only if the status is MSPT, then a warning message has to be displayed????

You can maintain Production order release availability controls for this purpose.
Go to Transaction OPJK
For the required plant , Production order type and Availability check (2 - Check availability during order release) maintain material availability. Activate check availabilty when saving order. For release material field maintain option 1(user decides on release if parts are missing).

Unsolved Problem-Order without Material Master

Hi all
My problem is still unsolved. I want to create Sales Order with out Material Master. In Materials Management, we create Purchase orders to vendors with out a Material Master by just typing description of a material and then assigning Material Group and Cost Centre to that description.
If it is possible to issue Purchase Orders with out material master, then it is not possible to create sales Order also without material master?
I got an answer here yesterday to type description in Material description field in SO and use item category TATX. The problem with this is, it allows delivery, but does not allow pricing (pricing setting immediately goes to display mode in item category screen). If I do any other alterations with this item category, then it asks for material number while creating sales order.

I think the for text material pricing is not applicable.Thats why it's not taking.Text material is only for displaying text only.
