Hi .. I am using toplink 10g (10.1.3.0) and oracle9 and I am trying to insert a blob with toplink in the database but I dont know how I need to use a resultset and a PreparedStatement if it is the case hor how use toplink???

You should be able to read the file in and convert its data to a byte-array in your object. TopLink will handle the conversion from byte-array to BLOB in the database.
If you are using the Oracle thin JDBC drivers, they have a 5k size limit, if your file is larger than this you will need to use the Oracle8/9Platform in your login and a TypeConversionMapping and set the fieldClassification to java.sql.Blob.

How to submit a blob with my form...

Hi, I get a image blob from database and display it on form.
However, how can I submit this form including my blob to my action
page? I tried using a hidden field on my form to hold the blob like
so:

Ok a little more research has turned up this info for IIS.
POST data is limited to 2 MB on IIS 4.0, and 128 KB on IIS
5.0. Each
name/value is limited to 1024 characters, as imposed by the
SGML spec.
Of course this does not apply to files uploaded using
enctype='multipart/form-data'

In IIS 6.0 (Windows Server 2003), you can adjust this setting

expected usage.

I would suspect there are similar concerns with other web
servers. And
as earlier mentioned, browser limits may play into this as

How to handle Oracle BLOBs with WebLogic 10.3

We have code that has been running for a long time to handle blobs in Oracle. We have never had a problem running inside of WebLogic, including WLS 10.0 and WLS 11. Recently, we had a customer that had a problem after they upgraded to WLS 10.3. Indeed, we downloaded that specific version and see the same issue. The issue is our Oracle db specific code is now causing an IllegalAccessException after we get the ResultSet vendor obj, by calling getVendorObj() on the WebLogic managed result set, and try to cast to an OracleResultSet. We need to do this in order to call OracleResultSet.getBLOB(), which returns an oracle.sql.BLOB. The code we use to update the blob is shown below. getOracleBLOB is our own method. It basically gets the OracleResultSet by calling getVendorObj on the managed WLS ResultSet, casting to an OracleResultSet, and calling getBLOB(colname) on it. Casting to the OracleResultSet causes the exception shown below. OK, so I understand WLS not wanting us to fiddle with the underlying db ResultSet, but what's our alternative. How can we do this without relying on the underlying OracleResultSet? After 10 years, working with many different versions of WebLogic as well as JBOSS and WebSphere, this is the first time we are seeing this.

We ultimately found out what the issue was. Turns out that OracleResultSet moved from oracle.jdbc.driver into oracle.jdbc starting with ojdbc6.jar. We were referencing the oracle.jdbc.driver package.

How to use join queries with toplink

I'm using toplink within the JDeveloper 10.1.3.3. with great success.
Now, I need to query multiple tables using a join SQL.
How do you configure toplink now without creating database views?
I could not find an easy with within the JDev IDE or from google search.

In a TopLink query you can query across any relationship to another object. You can also join or batch read the object's relationship using the ObjectLevelReadQuery and ReadAllQuery API (see TopLink documentation).
You can also map a class to multiple tables.

How to store/display images with SQL Server 2000

Hi everybody, I'm totally new to ColdFusion, and creating a
sample project, where a user would enter in a person's info and
upload a picture of that person. I trying to get my app to save
that image to SQL Server database and then to display that pic.
Currently, it "seems" that I'm able to save to SQL server (my table
saves user info but all values in my photo column says
<binary>-I don't know if that is correct), but I can't seem
to get image and display it on my cf page. I have pasted portions

Note: In my ColdFusion admin, I checked "Enable ... BLOB's"

Regarding doing the actual saving, here are some other things
to consider:
* a max on the image's file size
* check if it really is an image
* don't use nameconflict="overwrite". consider
nameconflict="MAKEUNIQUE"
* delete uploaded image on file system after insert into db
Also, on the cfm page that returns an image, try putting the
cfcontent tag and the cfoutput tag on one line.

How to store jpeg images with IMAQ PCI-1409 without vision or labview

I have acquired an IMAQ PCI-1409 card and have it working just fine. However the card is being primarily used to aquire images for display purposes only. The only options with MAX are .tiff, .bmp and .png
It would be nice to be able to store images as .jpeg which would be easier to share with other people.
Is this possible or do I have to compress the images using another software?

Unfortunately, as you mentioned, the only save options available in MAX are TIFF, BMP, and PNG. In order to save the image as a JPEG, you will need to use another software program. Microsoft Paint will allow you to save/convert any of these types to JPEG format. Other programs (Adobe Photoshop for example) allow you to customize the compression used, but Microsoft Paint does not.

How to store document data with many reference documents

hi,
I am designing cube with document data (let's say purchase order). I want to have granularity on document item level. Each item has many reference documents (e.g. purchase requisition, purchase agreement etc.). I plan to design all of document numbers as line items. It makes that in my cube will be about 3-4 item lines.
Is this way correct or I should deal with such data in other way?

If each document number occurs in one record only, then it should be designed as a line item. Multiple line items are ok.

I need to Save the web page with the GIVEN screen resolution in my local machine.
The input i receive are URL and the screen resolution parameters.
I figured that i can extract data from the URL by using the *URL Class and
using readers* Now i have the data ,i am not sure how to store the data with the
given screen resolution?? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

page. Thank you once againIf you want to convert HTML into an image, you are going to need something which renders HTML. Since you are asking on this forum, I'm assuming you want to use Java to do it. You could use a JTextPane, but it doesn't display HTML 2 very well. There are third party components which do it better. If you used some Java component, you wouldn't have to display the page, you could get it's graphics object and create and image, then save it too a file.
To display a browser or take a snapshot of it with the robot class, your applet is going to have to be signed. Since you haven't given me any information about what it is you are trying to accomplish, I'm not sure any of this is relevant.

Have you redeemed your iTunes card to an account associated with an Apple ID?
Once you have your iPad associated with an Apple ID AND you have an account with a credit card associated with the same Apple ID AND you have some 'store credit' (from redeeming your iTunes card) then purchases use the store credit before they charge the credit card, so you should be ok!
Personally, I use 'store credit' as a way to monitor whether or not there have been any 'unauthorised' purchases because as soon as the store credit is zero, the security code from the credit card is needed for further purchases! It does mean that I have sometimes to top up store credit before making a purchase, but 'better safe than sorry'!

There is no featured tab in my iTunes store. . . and everywhere it shows me signed in. I had downloaded an app for my mother on HER ipad, and that is the only app I have done for her. It shows up on my phone, and now I cannot update any of my apps. I uninstalled that app on my phone, but when I want to update ones I have installed on my phone with my appleid, she keeps showing up.
