How to submit a blob with my form...

Hi, I get a image blob from database and display it on form.
However, how can I submit this form including my blob to my action
page? I tried using a hidden field on my form to hold the blob like
so:
<cfset FaceImg = toString(toBinary(FaceImg.BLOB))>
<cfinput type="hidden" name="FaceImg"
value="#FaceImg#">
But for some reason, on the action page, it cannot see it.
Thanks so much,
C

Ok a little more research has turned up this info for IIS.
POST data is limited to 2 MB on IIS 4.0, and 128 KB on IIS
5.0. Each
name/value is limited to 1024 characters, as imposed by the
SGML spec.
Of course this does not apply to files uploaded using
enctype='multipart/form-data'
See KB #260694 [
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/260694
to
learn how to adjust the limits of POST data (this deals with
adding/modifying MaxClientRequestBuffer in the registry).
In IIS 6.0 (Windows Server 2003), you can adjust this setting
in the
metabase. You need to increase the setting for
AspMaxRequestEntityAllowed to allow larger files to be
handled by the
Request object. Look for this setting in metabase.xml; the
default is
204,800 (200 kb), but you can change it to reflect your
expected usage.
You will need to restart IIS for this change to take place,
unless
"enable direct metabase edit" is enabled.
I would suspect there are similar concerns with other web
servers. And
as earlier mentioned, browser limits may play into this as
well.

    I'm trying to submit an email with a PDF attachment but needs to have a static header and footer in the the body of the email before sending it.  How would this be done and is it possible to do this? I'm new at this and not sure how to even start this.  Any help with this is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • How to store a  blob with toplink

    Hi .. I am using toplink 10g (10.1.3.0) and oracle9 and I am trying to insert a blob with toplink in the database but I dont know how I need to use a resultset and a PreparedStatement if it is the case hor how use toplink???

    You should be able to read the file in and convert its data to a byte-array in your object. TopLink will handle the conversion from byte-array to BLOB in the database.
    If you are using the Oracle thin JDBC drivers, they have a 5k size limit, if your file is larger than this you will need to use the Oracle8/9Platform in your login and a TypeConversionMapping and set the fieldClassification to java.sql.Blob.

    Hi Rafeek,
    One solution is to set the column width after manually or programmatically refresh the PivotTable, for example:
    Private Sub Worksheet_PivotTableUpdate(ByVal Target As PivotTable)
    Dim ws As Worksheet
    Set ws = Application.ActiveWorkbook.ActiveSheet
    ws.Columns("A").ColumnWidth = 10
    End Sub
    Another option is to set the column width, then protect the columns from been updated by the user, before refreshing the PivotTable, unprotect the worksheet. For example:
    Public Sub LockColumnA()
    Dim ws As Worksheet
    Set ws = Application.ActiveWorkbook.ActiveSheet
    ws.Columns("A").ColumnWidth = 10
    ws.Columns("A").Locked = True
    ws.Protect "123"
    End Sub
    Public Sub UnprotectWorksheet()
    Dim ws As Worksheet
    Set ws = Application.ActiveWorkbook.ActiveSheet
    ws.Unprotect ("123")
    End Sub

  • How to Submit Auto-Renewable with Updated App

    I am updating an app to enable Newsstand and entitlement. The binary was rejected by Apple because it did not include an auto-renewable subscription with the upload. I know that in intitial app builds you identify the product ID's of folios/non-consumables and submit them with the binary, but I am not getting a prompt to identify the auto-renewable in-app purchse and submit it with the update.
    The auto-renewable has been created in iTunes connect. How to I associate it with my binary for the update?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    I'm not sure exactly what's causing the problem, so here's a quick overview: In iTunes Connect, you create two different types of in-app purchases for a DPS app: non-consumable product IDs and subscription roduct IDs.
    You create non-consumable product IDs for each retail folio. For example, the non-consumable product ID for the May issue could be com.mycompany.myapp.2014may. When you use Folio Producer to publish the May folio as Public and Retail, you specify the product ID specified in iTunes Connect. That ties the folio to the in-app purchase.
    You create Product IDs for each subscription duration, such as com.mycompany.myapp.1year. When using DPS App Builder to build the app, you specify these Product IDs as Neil described.
    Submit the app for review and then submit the in-app purchases for review (including dummy screenshots for the non-consumable in-app purchases).
    When you submit the app, you submit a binary .zip file. However, when you submit a Product ID, you don't upload any binaries or folio files--just the screenshots for the non-consumable in-app purchases.

  • How to handle Oracle BLOBs with WebLogic 10.3

    We have code that has been running for a long time to handle blobs in Oracle. We have never had a problem running inside of WebLogic, including WLS 10.0 and WLS 11. Recently, we had a customer that had a problem after they upgraded to WLS 10.3. Indeed, we downloaded that specific version and see the same issue. The issue is our Oracle db specific code is now causing an IllegalAccessException after we get the ResultSet vendor obj, by calling getVendorObj() on the WebLogic managed result set, and try to cast to an OracleResultSet. We need to do this in order to call OracleResultSet.getBLOB(), which returns an oracle.sql.BLOB. The code we use to update the blob is shown below. getOracleBLOB is our own method. It basically gets the OracleResultSet by calling getVendorObj on the managed WLS ResultSet, casting to an OracleResultSet, and calling getBLOB(colname) on it. Casting to the OracleResultSet causes the exception shown below. OK, so I understand WLS not wanting us to fiddle with the underlying db ResultSet, but what's our alternative. How can we do this without relying on the underlying OracleResultSet? After 10 years, working with many different versions of WebLogic as well as JBOSS and WebSphere, this is the first time we are seeing this.
    Thanks in advance.
    oracle.sql.BLOB blob = getOracleBLOB(rset,_columns.name);
    OutputStream os = blob.getBinaryOutputStream();
    ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(os);
    oos.writeObject(_columns[i].paramObj);
    oos.close();

  • Demantra: How to submit Simulation Engine with different profiles?

    Background
    =========
    We want to submit Simulation engines but give the user the flexibility to use different engine profiles. Since our FCST Engine is on the Wintel box and our OC4J on a Solaris box we really do not have an easy way to do this. As best as I can tell there is no direct way of kicking off the Simulation engine from within the Workflow environment in this multi-platform environment.
    OK, so that's the limitation, but is there some other way that we have yet to discover?
    Again, we are not looking for a one-time-start of the Simulation engine on the Wintel box with a pre-set profile, rather, we want the user to have the flexibility of selecting a particular profile.
    I suppose a follow-up to this is: once the said engine is kicked off, is there a command line way to terminate the process and I'm not talking of a 'kill' equivalent, rather I'm looking for a Demantra supported functionality?
    Thanks!

    If all the numerous user profiles are yours, just sign in with the relevant passwords. If they are not then you shouldn't be using the media anyway...

  • Hide Ajax enabled portlet with jsp form  loading

    Hi All,
    I seriously struck with this problem and any help is appreciated.
    Functionality:-
    I have 2 portlet in a page portletA(non ajax) and PortalB(ajax enabled and it will just handle the portletA events). For checkbox event on portletA i am submitting PortletB JSP Form through PortletA JavaScript.
    PortletB jsp Form consists of only hidden variables, which will be set by PortletA JavaScript. All this is working fine.
    Problem:-
    My problem is I have to hide PortletB.For this i am using BackingFile preRender method. If I hide portletB then JSP Form is not loading and from PortletA iam unable to get the Form object of portletB to submit.
    Even setVisible is not working.
    Here is my PortletB jsp Form
    <netui:form tagId="ajaxEnabledForm" action="deleteRSAandCMFProfile">
    <netui:hidden dataSource="actionForm.userName" tagId="userName"></netui:hidden>
    </netui:form>
    How to make PortletB invisible with jsp form loading?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi, i don't have the exact solution to your problem, but can suggest you work around.
    in portlet b jsp, add <div> tag at the top, and use its style properties to hidden/visible as per your need. from the backing file you can set a request attribute which determines the hiding and showing in the div tag.
    you may not be able to control the visibility of title bar. for this, there are two options.
    1. you can try to use portlet backing context tile bar and hide title bar from backing file.
    2. if this does not work, then define id attribute to div tag in title bar skeleton jsp, and access that div by using id from the portlet jsp and then hide that div tag.
    thanks

  • How to submit a form with checkboxes in a page flow?

    I'm having some trouble with a form that contains several checkboxes, and
    how to submit this form within a page flow...
    I have a JSP page containing a form with N checkboxes. The value and
    checked/unchecked status of each checkbox is generated from parsing an XML
    document. Here is the (simplified) code:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/xml" prefix="x" %>
    <netui:form action="doUpdate">
    <x:forEach select="...">
    <input type="checkbox" name="id"
    <x:if ...>checked</x:if> value="<x:out ... />">
    </x:forEach>
    <netui:anchor formSubmit="true" action="doUpdate">Submit</netui:anchor>
    <netui:anchor action="doCancel">Cancel</netui:anchor>
    </netui:form>
    When this form is submitted, the checkbox values are lost -- the following
    code (in the action) produces an empty array:
    String[] prefs = this.getRequest().getParameterValues("id");
    I looked at the <netui:checkbox> tag, but it does not appear to give me a
    way to set the state and value (unless I've missed something).
    Can I submit a form without using a form bean? If I do use a form bean, can
    I set the state and value from my JSP?
    Any suggestions on how to do this (or insights into what I'm doing wrong)
    are welcome...
    -- Craig

    I am new to this, but I think this may solve your problem:
    I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but you can create a LinkedHashMap
    with the req key/value pairs in the page-calling action in the pageflow and then
    pass that via a getRequest().setAttribute("myCheckboxes",myCheckboxHashMap);
    You can then access it in code using the optionsDataSource portion of the netui:checkBoxGroup
    - ie
    <netui:checkBoxGroup dataSource="{actionForm.thisCheckbox}" optionsDataSource="{request.myCheckboxes}">
    Hope this helps!

    and
    how to submit this form within a page flow...
    I have a JSP page containing a form with N checkboxes. The value and
    checked/unchecked status of each checkbox is generated from parsing an
    XML
    document. Here is the (simplified) code:
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/xml" prefix="x" %>
    <netui:form action="doUpdate">
    <x:forEach select="...">
    <input type="checkbox" name="id"
    <x:if ...>checked</x:if> value="<x:out ... />">
    </x:forEach>
    <netui:anchor formSubmit="true" action="doUpdate">Submit</netui:anchor>
    <netui:anchor action="doCancel">Cancel</netui:anchor>
    </netui:form>
    When this form is submitted, the checkbox values are lost -- the following
    code (in the action) produces an empty array:
    String[] prefs = this.getRequest().getParameterValues("id");
    I looked at the <netui:checkbox> tag, but it does not appear to give
    me a
    way to set the state and value (unless I've missed something).
    Can I submit a form without using a form bean? If I do use a form bean,
    can
    I set the state and value from my JSP?
    Any suggestions on how to do this (or insights into what I'm doing wrong)
    are welcome...
