I want to store a large document(about 10mb) in Oracle9i using SQL*PLUS. How to store it using CLOB in Oracle9i!?

Just use the report's CUID or ID for the iDocID parameter, and give all necessary users the appropriate rights to the inbox where the report is located.
repoType is a legacy parameter, this will have no effect.

How to edit a pfd document then save using Preview?
I received a form in pdf format. I need to fill out some blanks with text and e-mail it back to the sender. I could not figure it out using Preview. Actually I tried the Adobe acrobat reader also and had zero success. Thanks

No, you are wrong. I just tried it 2 minutes ago. Neither Adobe Acrobat 7 nor 8.1 will allow you to save a filled-in PDF form. You cannot preview. You cannot print to PDF. All you can do is Print.
Why do you need to print the filled-in form to a PDF file? You just save it; it's already a PDF file!
Because saving is disabled in Adobe Reader. Usually, if one is using a fill-in PDF form, it is some important document such as a tax form. It is always a good idea to keep an electronic form of such documents. The free Adobe Reader will not allow you to do this.

Apparently, you must own the full Adobe Acrobat package. That will allow you to do all sorts of things with a PDF.
I think getting to the bottom of what works and what doesn't in a thread titled "How to edit a pdf document then save using Preview" is hardly doing a disservice. I appreciate your giving me the inclination to try a fill-in form using Preview again. I am quite pleased to learn that PDFView and Preview (in Tiger and Leopard) will allow you to enter data into a filled-in PDF form. Somehow I missed that. Often, it is a good idea to go back and re-try something even if you are sure you know the results. Sometimes things change underneath without your knowledge and sometime your knowledge expands to allow you to accomplish what had before been "impossible."
You can sigh all you want. But please, check your facts next time. And a bit more civility would be appreciated too. Sometimes people are wrong. That's life. I have lot of sequences and I want to create Test Sequence Documentation in HTML format using Command Line automatically, is there a way to automate this task using .bat file or using C# .NetIf you aren't able to figure out how to call a C++ DLL in .net then there may be another option. Unfortunately I don't know how to do this off the top of my head and I don't have an example.

Store MS word document in oracle9i as XML

I need to store Microsoft Word Documents in oracle 9i and I am thinking to store it as XML file. I am new to XML, can anybody give me some idea how to achieve this? More specificlly, how do I convert a word document to XML before I save it to the database and later how do I retrieve it and convert it back to word document or other format(such as .pdf document etc)?
Besides storing the word document as XML file, are there any other ways to store it in the oracle 9i database? Is oracle 9i internet file system or interMedia a good solution too? Anybody had experience with this?Thanks, steven.

What is SCM/Designer? Could you point me to some reference on how to use them? You mentioned "synchronized with the File System and are held as BLOBS", does that mean the word document will be stored in both places, database as BLOB and file system as file? In my case, I only want to store in database.
I agree with you that "converting XML only adds another step in the process", but I am not sure about "probably vastly increasing the data to store!", my original thought is storing as XML instead of Word Document will save me a lot of storage space because XML is just text file, also the database retrieval will be faster. As I said I am totally new to XML, so I may be wrong. -

I just started a position with a company that has a number of catalogs full of the widgets they sell. Previously the catalog work was outsourced to a company that uses Quark, and the first thing I did when I started was to convert them to InDesign using a 3rd party plugin.
The one I'm working on now is 400+ pages, including a TOC and 2 indexes (words / item nos.), and is currently 4 VERY large files that take 5-10 minutes each to open.
What I'd like to do is split the entire catalog along logical lines into a bunch of 10-50 page documents, then stitch them all back together as Chapters in a Book file. The plan is to have the smaller documents be usable either as stand-alone brochures or as pieces of the big catalog. Once I can get it all organized the way I want, I'll be redoing the TOC and indexes as well.
So, to boil it down to a few questions:
1. How do I split a large document into smaller pieces?
2. I have a basic understanding of creating a Book file, but are there any pitfalls I should watch out for when stitching the bits back together?
3. Is it possible to have page numbering automated so that if I open a chapter on its own the pages will be, say, 1-20; but if I open it in the context of the book file the pages will be, say, 84-104?
4. Are the page numbering, TOC, and indexing tools flexible enough to where if I modify a section such that it adds or removes pages in that section, the entire book file will restructure to accommodate?

Saving x-number of copies as new names, then chop off the unwanted parts is pretty efficient.
2. I have a basic understanding of creating a Book file, but are there any pitfalls I should watch out for when stitching the bits back together?
Nothing specific, other than learning the ins and outs of working with book files. For example, if you change a style in one file, you'd want to use the Synchronize feature to propagate the change to the other files, but you'd also need to remember if any change in one file shouldn't be propagated to others, and deselect it in the Synchronize dialog box.
It's a good idea to open all and save all book files before doing any book-wide operation; even better to save the whole directory for safety. Working on open files gives you some undo powers that working with closed files doesn't.
3. Is it possible to have page numbering automated so that if I open a chapter on its own the pages will be, say, 1-20; but if I open it in the context of the book file the pages will be, say, 84-104?
The individual files need to be checked and perhaps updated or have their numbering restarted when they're removed from the book file's control. It depends on how you've set up the numbering.
4. Are the page numbering, TOC, and indexing tools flexible enough to where if I modify a section such that it adds or removes pages in that section, the entire book file will restructure to accommodate?

Both TOC and Index have check boxes to include all files in the current book. You need to update the TOC, and generate the index again with Replace Existing Index checked, after making changes.

Document from file - how better store information about document?
I have a text file that contains information about documents (content from groups than define the document - one row is one document). Every group content from fields (from 10 to 70 in every group). Document consist of 9 groups. In one documen can difference number of groups (> 1 group). E.g. one document can have 3 group1, 2 group6. In another document 2 group9, 1 group 6 and so on. I need to store document in DB and must edit document (by JFrame). To store document I use object MyDocument to store information about document.

How to store a Excel document using Webdynpro
Hi Folks,
I need a Web application, where user will have an option of uploading an Excel file. Then the application should store this file in application server in Excel format.
Then I need another web application where, I will display a tabular structure with two date column and third column showing as a link to the file. Also this second application will have an option to save the file on desktop. I need a button to pass the data in this file to another program.
Technical issues:
I know how to read data from an excel by using Upload UI element. But how can I store the file on application server in excel format. And then how can I read the Excel file in such way that, I can show a link of this Excel file in a tabular structure displayed on a Webdynpro application.
Please provide your valuable inputs on this technical issue.

For the uploadresume column, create a fileupload UI element for that column as cell editor.
Then when the user clicks on this Upload link then user gives the file name to be uploaded and save it.
Check the wdr_test_table for TABLE CELL_EDITORS.

I am using Flash Builder 4.6, BlazeDS, and Hibernate. How to store a webcam snapshot into the MySql Database. I stored Form Items by using RemoteObject into the database. But I failed to store webcam snapshot. I captured that image on Panel component.I converted that image to ByteArray. Now I want to save that image into the database. Please help me in this regard.

'Report Application Server SDK' is For Crystal reports so for WebIntelligence or DesktopIntelligence Report it is "Report Engine SDK".
Apart from this if you want to do more on these reports "BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK" can be used.

For question 2,
I am not sure about it but Report Engine SDK provides classes and interface of Data Providers.

How to store the large values as workflow properties?
I am using WLI 8.1. Our workflow is required to store large values that are more than 262,144 in size.
Does anyone know, in which table, these values are stored. So that I can increase the length of the field as a temporary fix.
Is there any way to create the variables dynamically at runtime? So that I can create variables dynamically if it exceeds the maximum length.
