How to stream with the player strobe media playback videos using http dynamic streaming?

Hi..
please could i have some help about the player strobe media playback?
i would like to know how to stream with the player strobe media playback videos using http dynamic streaming.
I have already installed the server,i put my own video in the video on demand folder.i downloaded the player but i don't know how to stream that video with the adobe protocol dynamic streaming.

http://osmf.org/configurator/fmp/
Use this configurator, and use the same code it generates with your strobemediaplayback.swf
Also make sure the domain where strobemediaplayback.swf is being called from and resides, is in your /webroot/crossdomain.xml  file, or it will not work.

The player supports both standard and advanced delivery methods, including progressive download, RTMP streaming,
RTMP dynamic streaming, HTTP streaming, HTTP dynamic streaming, and live streaming. Flash Media Playback
1.5 and Strobe Media Playback 1.5 also provide support for RTMFP multicast content delivery.
While RTMP(x) streaming are FMS content delivery technologies, the player can also be used with other FMS compatible streaming servers, such as Wowza or Red5.
In the case you do not need the use of FMS streaming functionality, progressive download is always an alternative (what this means is that all you need is a video that can be served by a webserver like apache, nginx, lightypd, etc).
As for how the player can be used, these links are allways a good place to start and get a better idea of what it is all about:

  • Live Stream with DVR in Strobe Media Playback

I want to use the SMP with the DVR feature when I am broadcasting Live. I have everything setup but I can't go back, pause or seek forward, is there something that I have to add to the code to work properly? If is that, what is it? Thank You!

Ok I got it my self. This is how it goes
    In the streamType=dvr
    And in the src=YOUR SERVER HERE/APPLICATION/MP4:STREAM NAME.F4V
That will let you stream Live and record the stream and have it available instantly when you stop encoding!!!

  • Strobe Media Playback requires FMS, HTTP origin

I want to know that Strobe Media Playback (that uses OSMF 2.0) requires FMS, HTTP Origin and f4fpackager (all of them or any) as server side support for the Dynamic Streaming Sample application,  (OSMF Sample Players given  in the OSMF Sample Folder) to actually do Dynamic http Streaming.
Also I want to Know that  HTTP Origin Module is Open Source or not.

  • Use HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS) and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) to serve live streams to clients over HTTP

I have created a live stream of a video and it gets stored in live folder.
Now i need to use HTTP Dynamic Streaming (HDS) and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) to serve live streams to clients over HTTP, publish the streams to the HTTP Live Packager service on Flash Media Server.
So what necessary steps do I  need to follow to do that ??

You need to generate a manifest file using Configurator tool and placed it under the webroot directory.

  • Problem when streaming with the CLI flash media encoder 2.5

I have a problem when streaming with Flash Media Encoder 2.5. When I run the GUI, everything works, but when I use the commandline with the same profile I have created using the GUI, it says it can't connect to the server.
I have to use this version of the encoder, because the other is not working with the server, and I have to create a program to remotely control the flash media encoder, so I have to use the CLI. What can i do to go over this problem?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thankyou.

    First of all, thankyou.
There is no authentication needed. I can't use Flash Live Media Encoder 3 because it is not supported by the people which manages the server i have to connect to.
In fact, I don't know why they dont support it, but that is the way it is.
Through the GUI, i connect directly and without problems, without user/pass.
    Thankyou again.

  • Strobe Media Playback Server-Side ABR live streaming

Does the Strobe Media Playback support server side Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) streaming for live RTMP streaming? If so, how?

    http://osmf.org/configurator/fmp/
Use this configurator, and use the same code it generates with your strobemediaplayback.swf
Also make sure the domain where strobemediaplayback.swf is being called from and resides, is in your /webroot/crossdomain.xml  file, or it will not work.

  • How can I get flash player to show full video using Firefox (23.0.1) on MAC (OSX 10.8.4)

On Youtube and other sites, I only see the top left quadrant of the video.  I tried uninstalling and re-installing the latest flash player and that did not solve the problem.

Actually, that was my fault - I saw "Tab" and thought of the full settings display and way I'd normally get to the proper place.  Anyway, I tried taing the number fo time you mentioned but it did not work. Pressing the Tab key 6 tims and pressing enter did get me to the right place. Pressing Tab once highlights the full box (note yellow outline in 1st pic below:
From there, if I "press Enter again. Press Tab 5 (five) more times, press Enter and close the box." the box does not close and I get to:
If, on the other hand, when I get to the Display page a press tab twice, it highlights the item I need to uncheck as shown below:
If from there I Press enter, it does nto uncheck the box, which is what I think needs to be done. Neither does the space bar. And if I follow out the instructions from there I get to"
So, I'm guesing we may have different items on the setting pages.  My version of flash is 11.8.800.94.

  • Strobe Media Playback and streamType='dvr' not playing "live"

    Hello,
We're currently using Strobe Media Playback to play a DVR stream.
These are the parameter options we're passing:
    var parameterNames = pqs.params(false);
                var parameters =
                   {    src:"<?php echo $_GET['src']; ?>"
                    ,    autoPlay: true
                    ,    sreamType: "dvr"
                    ,    controlBarAutoHide: true
                    ,     highQualityThreshold: "640"
                    ,    dvrSnapToLiveClockOffset: "5"
                    ,   javascriptCallbackFunction: "onJavaScriptBridgeCreated"
The seekbar shows Live / <time>, but it always starts from the beginning of the stream. If you move the seekbar all the way to the right, It starts playing live.
Why is it doing this? if I take out the <dvrInfo> tag in the f4m file, and set streamType: "live", it starts from the live point.
    Any input is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Can FFmpeg produce f4f, f4x and f4m files instead of Adobe's File Packager for HTTP Dynamic Streaming?

I need a command tool to produce f4f , f4x and f4x files. And I know Adobe's File Packager. But I'd like to use FFmpeg(Because it's opensource) to produce those files. I am not sure whether FFmpeg can produce f4f , f4x and f4x files for HTTP Dynamic Streaming or not. My goal is to achieve HTTP Dynamic Streaming in Linux with opensource tool instead of Adobe Flash Media Server.

Isn't the packager part of Flash Media Server?

  • How To Change Mouse Cursor Icon To Hand And Click Middle Of Player To Pause In Strobe Media Playback

    Hello,
Thank you for providing a platform where uses can pose questions to Adobe employees. This certainly helps us all cut right through it.
Similar to YouTube's player (as well as many others), I was wondering if it is currently possible for users to enable functionality on Strobe Media Playback to change the mouse cursor to a hand/point cursor upon hovering over Strobe Media Playback's buttons (such as pause, the volume controls and that initial large centered middle play button),
And, whether or not it is currently possible to enable functionality to pause/play videos merely by clicking the middle of the video screen (within the normal view mode as well as the full screen mode). Again, with YouTube, Vimeo, JW Player, and many others, such functionality is currently built-in by default.
I look forward to any advice you are able to provide. Thanks again for providing this discussion platform for users.

Hi, thank you for your suggestions and for the interest in our player.
The full area click issue is an older one, tracked at http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/ST-156 . Unfortunately, it will not be fixed in this release.
The hand cursor issue is now tracked at http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/ST-331 - thanks for suggesting it!

    However, the page is saying:
We are having problems with playback. We apologize for the inconvenience.
My links do not appear to be broken, I have checked them with Firebug / View Source. Has the javascript changed for Strobe 1.5?

Okay, I think I have it *partly* figured out. If I use the link from the example it works:

Does the video have to be online for it to work?

  • Any tutorial for Live RTMP Dynamic Streaming using Strobe Media Playback?

Any tutorial for Live RTMP Dynamic Streaming using Strobe Media Playback anywhere available on the web ?

Thank you for the link but it does not solve my problem. In this thread they work with manifest xml files like a playlist. Which i tryed but also doesn´t work. Adobe declairs FMP with easy config and less code for non geeks. And this is exactly what i want for my project.
Does anybody can post some  html sample code especially for dynamic streaming/ MBR wit Flash Media Playback??? For Live or On-Demand.

The problem is I did'nt find any  StrobeMediaPlayback.swf   in the source of your project to embed,so I just grabbed the StrobeMediaPlayback.swf  from the StrobeMediaPlayback download, and also tried the swf in the bin folder of the StrobeMediaPlayback Flex Project.
    I got a runtime error
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable StrobeMediaPlayback is not defined.
    I will appreciate your help,(again)!
