How to suppress records with vzero value in a union report in OBIEE?

Hi
I have a Union report ,Rep1 union Rep 2,with a cloumn A in rep1 and a dummy column in place of column A in rep 2.
I want to restrict the records where A= 0 in the union report.
How to go abouth this.

hi,
In report1 let the column be as it is ,why are you changing the f(x) to case statement.Did you check is data there in that column of report1.
In the union report make tat dummy column as 0 or 1 accordingly as per your requirement.So it would retrieve all the values of column of report1.
Check the join conditions established and play with the joins like give a full outer join and check if the data is coming including 0's if so then you can pply filter on that column saying column not equal to 0,so the remaining values gets populated.

Pull all the columns to criteria ,it will show NULL for a product
To get zero,on the fact column use IFNULL(fact_col,0)

How can I record with GarageBand 1.3 in the background using other app?
I use iPad 2 with iOS 6 and GarageBand v1.3.
I'd like to play an other app like Sunrizer synth while the GarageBand is recording in the background in a track.
By now I can do it only using the build-in mic of iPad, but this is not the point.
Can I record other apps in a GarageBand track?

I suspect you are probably correct about the reasoning, although there are already a myriad of ways to do that.
Don't get me wrong - I never said I like this. But it is consistent with other Apple applications, that are similar restrictive; you cannot take a screenshot, when dvd-player is running for example.

You can do a couple of things - one would be to pass the information using the data linking expert. Right click on the subreport, choose 'Change Subreport Links' and select the field(s) you are wanting to pass to the subreport. CRW will build parameters and a record selection formula for you in the subreport, and if that's what you want, then great. But you can also remove the selection formula from the subreport and work with the parameter fields in the subreport however you would like.Alternatively, you can look to passing Shared variables back and forth from the main and subreport. this link talks about the method to do this: http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/251

How To Suppress Records In Subreport Based on Value in Main Report

I want to supress records in the Details section of my subreport based on a value in the Details of my Main report (main report could have same record as subreport).
I created the following formula with a shared variable and placed it in the Details section of my main report:
WhilePrintingRecords;
Shared StringVar sCertCode :={ACCPASCERT.CERT_CODE}
I placed the subeport in the Group Footer of the Main Report.
In the subreport, in the Section Expert I added the following formula for Supress of the Details section:
WhilePrintingRecords;
Shared StringVar sCertCode;
sCertCode = {ACCJBCERTS.PERS_CODE}
Unfortunately even though the value in the main report is the same as the value in the subreport, those records are not being suppressed in the subreport.
Would appreciate any ideas.

The group is not based on Cert_Code but on another database field.
I can try linking on the Cert_Code. But, how do you make the link "<" ">" when linking the main report and the subreport. I don't see that as an option?

Please take a look at my query below. This is a sample query with only 6 columns but my actual query has about 70 columns. Basically I need to be able to suppress those rows where numerical values are zeros across a row. But even if one column has a value greater than zero, I need that row. Is there any better way to do it or this is the only way to do it? I am just trying to avoid creating a big WHERE clause with all fields in there. Kind regards.

The fact that you want to do this hints that this is a denormalized table, designed to make coding difficult and inefficient. A better design would be:
SELECT 'A' as org, 12 as val, 1 AS col_num     FROM dual UNION ALL

...Then you could use the MAX function to see if any of them were greater than 0, regardless of how many there were.

If you want the rows where AT LEAST 1 of the columns are not 0, then use OR instead of AND.
!= means not equal to 0. You said you were interested in whether the columns were greater than 0, which is >=.

How to print frame with no values?

Using Reports 6 (Developer 10g). In data model, I have a parent and child table connected through data link. In layout model, the child record is inside repeating frame. When child record is missing, nothing gets displayed in that frame. I still need labels to display, even though there are no values for the fields. How do I do that? Thank you.

Your report is group report. And there is main group repeating frame and inside that main group repeating frame there should be two frames. one for labels and one will be repeating that will be retrieving data for child group. So, now when your group frame will return record and suppose there is no record in child repeating frame then sure repeating frame will not print. But the label frame should print which is inside that main group repeating frame. Because this label frame don't have any link with that child repeating frame. Or it your report does not seems like this. Then make it like this and then try.

Maintained my Transfer Rules of Data Source 0HR_PA_PA_1 to Info Source 0HR_PA_PA_1 and all is green! Unfortunately, still NO data and error IDOC message is " The data request was a full update. In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not contain any data."
"The extractor of the DataSource reads the master data tables of the Employee (0EMPLOYEE) and person (0PERSON) InfoObjects and makes changes to these time-dependent attributes available as headcount changes"...says SAP
Info Object person (0PERSON) works!!!, however Info Object(0EMPLOYEE) is giving me problem whereby in SAP R/3 Data Source (Employee - Education and Training) 0EMPLOYEE_0022_ATTR allows time overlapping of records, BUT BW generates an error " The time interval ['99991231'/'19930104'] & (from/to) for the data records 46 and 47 overlaps in characteristic 0EMPLOYEE "
For example, lets assume there is Employee X with the following entry in SAP R/3.
Begin Date||| End Date ||| SubType
01.09.2003||| 01.09.2004||| Professional Cert.
01.09.2003||| 01.09.2006||| Degree
SAP R/3 allows this overlapping of time records however, BW does NOT. How can I tackle this overlapping issue in SAP BW?

I attempted to assigned 0DATETO and 0DATEFROM to my attributes of 0EMPLOYEE, but it gives me the following error
 Characteristic 0EMPLOYEE: Attribute 0DATETO cannot be used w. time-dependent attribte
 InfoObject 0DATETO cannot be used as an attribute if attibutes already exist that are time-dependent. Attribute 0ANSALARY is such an attribute. A field in the InfoObject 0DATETO is automatically generated in the master data table.
Once again, what I want is to be able to allow the Records with HighDate in R/3 into my BW Cubes.

Purchase info record with same values

I want to create purchase info records with the same material vendor purchasing org. plant ,how can it be done.
This is required because it is possible for the same vendor to deliver material for the same plant and purchasing organisation.Is there a workaround or any reason for this.

Insert into ... Select statements are not supported for long or long raw. You will have to either use PL/SQL or convert your long raw to blobs.

How to display characteristics with filterd values in WebReports

Hi
we use webreporting (BI 7.0) for our endusers and have designed a very simple webtemplate. All the characteristics you can see in the "selection window" are displayed in a header section with the values set for each variable. Due to the simplicity of the template we do not want to display all characteristics in the header with all possible filtered values set on any charateristic which are available on the report.
There is a standard webitem to display these filtered values but we can not use it as it is too large.
Is it possible to change the apperance of a characteristic (make it bold, or red, or underline if a filter is set) so that the user can see that he have set a filter on any characteristic?
If not, is it possible to simply display any text on the webtemplate indicating that a filter has been set?
Any Ideas?

How to bring fields with no values into workbook..?

Hi Gurus,
We have a query, which is filtered with some 60 GL Accounts. Some of these GL account has no values or activity since long back. But we need to display it in the report for some reasons. Since it doesnu2019t have any value, its not coming up in the report. Only the accounts with values are coming up.
Is there any way I can bring these accounts in the report with 0 as values...? Any help is highly appreciated.

there are two ways:
1) first you update in the infocube all values from gl_account.
=> your data volume grown up very much.
2) in the query you create a structure with all values from gl_account.
